Bad pair of nights

Thursday night the roomie was sitting for her nephew and niece-in-law while they went to a show.
But, meanwhile, on the way home from the show, they had a fight. He got out of the car and threw the keys at her.
After she drove up and down the highway a few times, in a panic because she couldn't find him, she came and got the kids.
The roomie and she sat down to talk, and the nephew started calling and screaming at her.
This is 1:30. So, after trying to ignore and go back to sleep, I ended up being up for a couple of hours.
I wasn't too bad on Friday after a slow start, but I thought, if I go to bed early, I can get up and shower and take the road trip I want to take.
But on Friday night at 12:45 I get a phone call.
After informing the caller it was midnight not noon, I tried to get back to sleep.
I was probably only awake another hour, but sometime after I got back to sleep I heard a cat start throwing up and it launched itself off the bed area, landed on my head before continuing off the bed. I don't know where the cat ended up throwing up, but at least it wasn't in my bed, still, it woke me up again.
Not for long, I just rolled over and went back to sleep.
However, I wasn't hardly able to walk, much less figure out how to shower this morning after having discovered some cat had peed in my flip flop. I washed the shoe and my foot, but was more, or less little better than walking into walls, so, I decided to write the friend to tell them I wasn't coming. I was going to try going back to sleep, but that just hasn't happened, at least not yet.
So, I hope you have had a better few nights than I have had.
Have you had interrupted nights like mine lately?
I have to say, interrupted nights were part of what I didn't want with children and part of why I didn't want them. I have enough trouble sleeping without ankle bitters waking me up... oh wait, I've got toe bitters don't I!

Oh, that sounds pretty tiring. I don't like when I have nights like that but where I live I don't have much choice until I move. I would like to move by spring so I can save up enough money for the first month and security.
Every night here I go into the bedroom and take my tv with me. The reason I go into the bedroom early around 9:00 is because the idiot above me plays video games until all hours of the night and the games are loud, with gunshots, big explosions, etc.
I only have one tv but will not be able to sleep without it because I wake up so much. Anyways, I'll crawl into bed and eventually fall asleep and then the idiot above me decides he's done with his stupid video games and goes to bed.
Next thing I know, I hear this heavy snoring...yup, it's him. It's enough to drive anyone nuts. Sooooo, there I am dragging my tv back out into the living room so I can sleep on the couch and fall asleep to the tv. This goes on at least 5-6 times a week. So, do I get a good nights sleep? Not at all. This is why I want to move and find a place that's soundproof. I don't want to hear everybody's noise.
I do feel bad for you because I know what that's like. Hope you get a few good nights sleep at least for a while.

Ya know, I don't mind if it happens once in a while..not at all. Or, if you have company and/or a get together with a bunch of people. That's no big deal to me and I understand as I probably would be a bit more noisy than I normally am..but. When it happens this often, and he knows it because I bang on the walls when it gets too loud..it's just a matter of him not caring in the least. That's what is the most aggravating, completely.
I hope the pain meds help you sleep better...everyone needs their normal amount of sleep, period.

I have mixed up mornings, nights and whatever right now. Got really good sleep last night. I am working such a weird combo of shifts, and working every day, but not enough for overtime that some times I am not able to figure out anything. No road trips for me for a while. Did you know the midnight caller? I think that one, plus the nephew who is a jerk would be the things I would be most angry about.
It occurs to me to say I am not complaining about the job. I am glad to have one, and the schedule is something I did to myself and I will be undoing it a little at a time. Hopefully in the end I will have the one I really want. Who am I kidding, I really do not want to work.

sounds like some of, no a lot of my nights and days. i often think that being an original insomniac already doesnt help
when i get woke up its like i cant hardly get back to sleep unless im supposed to stay up!!
sometimes i think im just stubborn inside. but anyway its a little better now to know it isnt just me that feels im walking into walls the next day.
also ive had the sound of a pet throwing up just as im dozing back off. lol. i have to actually jump up and let coco out to the doggie door. uuuhhh! cause she will scratch at the bedroom door till i do.

It sounds like you have had a couple of bad ones in a row. I know how you feel, I hate to have my sleep interrupted.
The poor cat must really be sick. I have had cats jump off and on my bed at night but they usually don't land on my face. They are generally more agile than that.

I get awakened by my neighbors. The other day, they were arguing about who left the oven on overnight. For some reason, when I'm in my bedroom, I can hear everything they say when they're in their downstairs. A week or two ago, they came home late and one or the other started slamming doors.
When I first moved here, my neighbors were wonderful, with the exception of their dog who had a severe case of separation anxiety and could be heard whining down the street. After they sold and moved out, it's been a steady stream of neighbors from hell.

Guess I'm lucky. I have not had my sleep interrupted by anything other than the usual trips to the bathroom in several weeks, I'm getting accustomed to hearing my husband puttering around in the kitchen, the sound of the microwave and the loud noise his oxygen machine makes when it first starts. I've frequently thought that a burgular could come and clean us out, and I'd sleep right through it.

I've actually been sleeping fairly well for the past couple of weeks. When we first moved in here, I had several nights where I was up way too early, but I've fallen into a pretty pattern as I've adjusted both to the new place and the incredibly short hours of daylight.
