I have yet to find a good password manager for me, but i am only keeping mine in a notebook. hehe I would like to ask if anyone of you is using any, whether online or as a cellular phone (android) application and if it is really safe to keep them online? My worry is that it might not be as safe as it is, just in case. in my search, i have seen this clipperz.com and i guess it sure looks good but may not be really effective. I hope you can share and let us discuss this over mylot dicussion. thank you!

I don't use any applications for my passwords. I only have 5 or 6 passwords to remember to all of my online accounts and it's not that hard to remember. I did saved some passwords and usernames on my laptop for some account login info that are hard for me to remember, other than that I really don't see any need. I think memorizing all your passwords and usernames are hard but you have to for safety reasons. You don't want to lose all those access if ever your laptop or your phone suddenly won't work or get broken or if your notebook with your passwords gets lost.

thank you for sharing this insight with me, especially. i know its quite true that we have to memorize and know our passwords by heart, its just that sometimes i forget them =( i am not so sure as to why and sometimes i just get mentally blocked that i am unable to even remember my user names in some sites that i have already registered myself to.

Although I keep in mind my online accounts most especially its passwords, I don’t use applications nor any managing devices or programs so that I can retrieve or take note about my security. With this type of information, I usually go over traditional ways of storing confidentiality. It could either be an organizer or a notepad that I am keeping in my closet or in my personal storage so that in time that I am missing some info’s. I can directly scan my notes without opening a computer or any gadget in that case.

I haven't use any password manager...I think it is better if you just write it in a notebook... just use characters that you're the only one who can understand your writing... If you use a password manager..its still the same..you need a password to access it... so that means you need to memorize the password that you are going to used....

Hi! I am not using any applications to store my password but I do keep everything in an excel file. That excel file containing all my passwords though is password protected so it's super secured!!! (^.^) I just have to remember one single password to open that excel file then should I forget the passwords for my various online accounts and email. I prefer this than using notebook because I would often misplace paper stuff and notebooks and all.

I think that you need to ask yourself what is important and not. Sites that are important for you, like your email account, paypal and similar sites, use one or several strong password the you can remember! For everything else, use a individual password for every site and store it in an app on your phone/tablet. The risk with passwords today is not really your own computer, phone or physical notebook. The risk is in if the site gets hacked and you have used the same username and password for different sites. For example, you register for a cooking site to get recipes and use the same password as on facebook. The cooking site probably don,t have to good security, gets hacked, and with that also your facebook account. I use an app called ewallet on my iPhone and iPad, the stored information is encrypted, and since it support iCloud the information is updated on both devices at all times. So when I,m at home I use my iPad to quickly find password to sites, and when I only have my phone with me I can still find the same information but a but slower.

thank you for your suggestion. i am sure i will always remember what you have said in here. i would take into consideration what i need in order to choose which one is best for me, the kind of application that would best suit my needs for the convenience of the passwords.

I am using lastpass for years now and so far it has been handy since it is internet base I could access it anywhere at any pc anytime. It is also for free but if you want they have the premium. There is no software to download but there are plugins that you need to install on your browser. It works well on all browsers.

I have never used this kind of software. As I am afraid they will reveal my passwords because these are important information for me. I prefer to memorize it by myself or write it down in my notebook. It is much more reliable. Besides, in fact I set the same password for many websites. So it is not so difficult for me to remember it.

ah yes, sometimes it worries me too that whenever it connects even to update, it will get my information and be stored elsewhere in the internet world and so my passwords are then compromised. I guess sometimes its a matter of trust to these software, but now that you have shared this thought, im well aware of the danger.

I just depend on my memory for my passwords. I do not trust any online site or anything else for my passwords. Its safer this way.

I don't use any applications to store and manage my passwords. Like you I am writing it and keeping in a notebook. I think it is better than using an application. If it's online some may broke in and take all the information lol. I guess what I'm doing now is just fine. Although I have some on my mobile phone in notes, if somehow my fone gets stolen they'd be lucky accessing my accounts without difficulty. lol.

oh that is what i am really worried about, i have an android ewallet manager or password manager, but sometimes its just too inconvenient and takes up too much space on my phone. my real concern was about where to conveniently keep them. i thought since most accounts i have are online, why not have an online storage for my accounts... thank you for your response.

Hi chiyosan I also keep my password in a password manager app in my iphone but I am also not comfortable leaving it there in case my phone got stolen or i lose it. Keeping it online has its security risks also. I guess the best way is to have it in a notebook as some of us suggested here. At least its offline and you are the only one accessing it. Merry Christmas!

both offline and online storage has its pros and cons, there are those issues too of the timing that you are keeping them in your phone or laptop and someone else gets hold of them then that is another issue altogether. thank you for your response.
