I've heard that it also tastes like fish. Is it true? I seldom eat fish. Never tried a snake though.

I tune into this show each time my Grandmom sits for her dinner. She rebukes me for watching this each time he gulps down a worm, snake, etc. She thinks I purposely watch this when she's having her dinner to distract her. "Indian people fear from snakes." I can't agree to this fact. I remember as a kid, I once killed and caught a snake which had found refuge in a neighbour's house. Also when survival is in question, it is a smart move to eat whatever you come across. You won't find a restaurant in a tough terrain! Good day!

Hello bro, nice thread here :) Yeah, i already tried but i don't have plans of doing it again.. hehe.. It was really not my intention to eat snake's meat (also dog's meat), i was just drunk that time and i didn't know what i'm eating.. hehe.. Snake's meat taste like chicken it's just the smell that differs. Dog's meat is kinda hot inside your stomach..

I have never tried snake so I can not say whether I would enjoy it or not. I would like to try snake because it has long been a popular dish but I have not come across the opportunity. I see nothing wrong with the idea of eating a snake, we eat many creatures that do not look appetising while alive. It is a simple matter of what we have become accustomed to during our lives.

I hope that I never, ever, find myself in a situation where I am so hungry that I would even consider eating snake meat. I don't even want to thin k about what kind of conditions would be required for that to happen.

If given the opportunity, I will eat snakes. I have seen and heard a lot of people eat snacks before and the only thing they can say is it tastes like chicken. Well, if that is not bad at all, I will eat snakes as long as it's cooked and cleaned well of course!

if im in a normal condition of life, i will never eat snakes, not because it is wild or scary or uncommon to be consumed, but my religion forbids the followers to eat some kinds of animal and obe of them is snake. so i dont want to eat snakes coss my religion forbids it. all animals which have fangs are forbidden to be consumed such as cat, tiger, bera and so on. but i dont know how if im in the wild and no god food to eat, snake will be my choice. lol. in a normal life, snakes are forbidden, but in an uncommon situation like if we are lost in a jungle then we have no more food to eat, my religion allows us to consume forbidden food to survive. but eating snakes is not sonething too rare in my place, cos there are some cafes in my place sell snake as their menu. the most favorite and pergaps the most expensive is cobra. i dont know how the chef cooks those snakes and the price for each menu cos i never try it.

Come to my place someday. I'll offer you snake for dinner, saying its chicken. By the way, have you tried frogs and rats?

That leads to my question. Why are you always invited for weird cuisines? Have you ever been invited to a proper dinner?

Snake - This was the second snake i saw at my backyard. the first one was Yellow and Black stripes. So scared. I was scared of snakes and I really don't like them . Thailand has a lot of snakes specifically here in the North because this is mountainous area.
Sure, though I am so scared of snakes. Snakes are a lot here in my place, so scary. Maybe because it's mountainous area. Creepy... are you sure you can handle snakes? hmmmm I doubt. yes, I have tried frogs and crickets too. Teachers here have free lunch. One time, a Thai teacher was so excited calling me to eat lunch.. she was saying "fack" I can't understand what she's saying, but i smiled at her. then while I was eating I noticed that the meat was quite small for chicken, I suspect that it was not chicken. So I did not scoop at the bottom part of the bowl I might see something I can't take. But i didn't like to offend them so I still ate, anyway, I am sure it was clean since they were eating it. They were also laughing while I/we were eating, and my suspicion was validated, true I was eating frog. but well i am still alive now, so nothing harmed done. One time again, I was invited for dinner, it is free so why not, lol, then we ate normal food, until a platter of crickets was served. They were all looking at me if I will get a piece... and ... they were like in suspense... .... then, I took a piece of cricket and bit it (so crunchy) and chewed.. and swallow.. wow.. as if they won in a football match.. they all cheered... (it was not bad at all) Ha! you think you can challenge me mimo? LOL

Hello Tushavi! I like that show. Haven't seen it in awhile though but I do enjoy learning things from that show and seeing how he deals with certain situations! I feel sorry for the camera men though haha. When he eats those snakes or even spiders, I want to vomit. I find it interesting knowing that these are some ways to survive but knowing me, I wouldn't eat that. Ewww no way! It really is yucky but even in a life threatening situation, I wouldn't eat a snake. Yuck! Happy MyLotting. ~AussieGal~

I think that eating snakes is gross also. It would be like eating worms! Do snakes have meat in them? I never thought about this before. But it makes sense I guess. People have to eat something and if they are out in the woods and need to survive they will eat what ever they can catch. I think that being out there in the elements like that, you would become more savage. You would need to become that way to survive. I decided to do a search on eating snakes and apparently snakes have been eaten by our ans-esters, This is what I found, Snake was a main staple on the table of early settlers. When cooked correctly, snake is quite flavorful and appetizing. So if you are adventurous and want to taste something a little out of the ordinary, here are some suggestions on how to cook snake Just in case you want to try this as dinner one night: How to Cook Snake 1 Skin the snake prior to cutting into pieces. First, cut the head off with a sharp knife. Then, using the same knife, slit the skin down the body of the snake 5 inches. Grab hold of the slit skin in one hand and the meat underneath in the other and pull the skin downward and away from the meat. 2 Cut the meat into small serving size fillets using the sharp knife. Rinse the fillets under cold water and pat dry. 3 Pour a 1/2 cup of vegetable oil in a medium skillet and heat over a medium flame. Sprinkle salt and pepper generously on the fillets. Dip the fillets in buttermilk and then dredge in flour. 4 Add the fillets to the oil in the skillet and cook for 4 to 6 minutes on each side. Fillets should be golden brown in color.
