Have you ever had the worst headache that all you wanted to do is sleep?

That is how my head feels right now. I have a headache out of this world. I thought I would get a few comments done at mylot before I lay down. Of course when I have this type of headache we don't have any type of pain medicine. So my husband went to the store to get some and now I'm going to lay down when he gets back.

Yes, I know how you feel! A couple months ago I had a terrible headache and I really wanted to just rest and sleep (I did and I started feeling better). It's also a good idea to take appropriate medicine when you have an extreme headache, it (usually) will make you feel better! Also, remember to drink plenty of water -- a lack of water can lead to headaches! Are you feeling better today?

Good! Yeah, speaking from personal experience, I can say that drinking enough water can make all the difference! If you don't drink enough water, then you may end up feeling terrible...

I did feel better the next day. Thankfully I was able to take some medicine and went to sleep. That helped a great deal. I will need to remember about the water. That could have been it. I didn't have anything to drink from 9am until 4pm. It was a long morning.

I have had some major sinus headaches. Felt like my head was being screwed off. And I have had afew stress headaches that were awful. Rest and sleep were all that would help. I know that lack of light is good for headache relief. Nice hot tea with honey would be great medicine. Hope you are over your headache soon.

Probably. Headaches can be caused from stress, diet, sinuses, etc.

Thanks! I have been feeling much better today. Last night I took some pain killers and fell asleep at 9pm. Which is really early for me. I think that the headache I had was caused from a multiple of things. I do hope that my situation starts to calm down so that I don't have to go through that again.

Sorry to hear that you experience these types of headaches as well. They really are painful. I was so happy that the medicine worked when my husband got home. I hope that you are able to find something that works for you. Perhaps a natural type of remedy would work. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I have experienced such , and am the kind of person who won't take medicine if can still tolerate pain. All i need to do is to sleep and rest then waking up fresh and headache gone. Give it a try also , sometimes our head aches because it is already very much exhausted.

I'm glad that sleep helps you as well. It would be nice if that would be the case for me. It's usually so bad that I can't sleep unless I take something. Yeah there has been a lot going on lately and I think my head just tried to take all of the stress. I'm glad though that pain killers and sleep helped me to feel better.

I remember my worst headache was when I vomited because of the intense pain. It's like a feeling when you get heart strokes. I went to the hospital because the pain was unbearable, and they gave me some medications. Before it happens, I was outside while the weather was so hot. I think I got dehydrated because of the heat. I'll never forget that moment because its my first time to experience it. But when I'm having some minor headaches, I just drink coca cola. It helps when it s just starting. But the best thing to do is to avoid the trigger factors, which are, to give some, hunger, excessive heat or cold, eye strain, too much sunlight, dehydration, and stress.

Wow that would have been awful. It is best for us to try and avoid those triggers. Sometimes though we can't figure out what triggered it before we can take care of it. I never knew coca-cola helped. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it!

I will have to try that. I have never heard of having coffee with lemon juice in it for headaches/migraines. I'm sure that in the near future I will probably have another one with all the stress I have been under. So I will remember that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hello Dominique. I am not pron to having any kind of headache so when I do get one they are usually pretty mild. The one time I did have a really bad headache it was the starting of my having shingles. I ended up going to the emergency room The Dr there told me it was an eczema because I was getting this terrible itching at my hair line. At the time I thought it was from head lice. I then went to my primary care Dr. and he said I had shingles because the symptoms were only on one side. That is the only real bad headache that I have ever had. I did have to have some kind of pain pills to take for a few days. All I did for a few days was sleep.

Yeah I can understand how all you wanted to do was sleep. That is how I feel when they are that bad. It just makes me go lay down because I can't do anything else. I seem to get them when I do a lot of driving or are under a lot of stress. So I'm trying to learn the pattern so that I can do my best to try and prevent them.

That terrible migraine! I am so glad that I don't often get those attacks now. Usually it lasts for a week and I am literally crippled everytime.

Yeah they really are awful. My husband got me some pain pills and I took them before I laid down. I was able to go to sleep at 9pm. I don't too often go to sleep that early unless one of those things hit me. So of course I didn't get anything done last night when my daughter went to sleep. Now I'm working on catching up and getting online work done today.

Thanks so much I will definitely have to write this down. I do have a tooth that has been bothering me. I didn't think though that that could be it. I do not have health insurance either so that is something I would have to do. The ibuprofen though did help and I was finally able to fall asleep.

Thanks! I will keep that in mind for next time. I actually haven't been able to take a nice long hot bath in a long time. That headache was really awful. I took my pain medicine when my husband got back and I was able to lay down and go to sleep. My head is feeling so much better.

Thanks! That is exactly what I did. I have felt much better today. I think that I have been under a lot of stress and that hasn't helped. So I will have to try and keep my stress level down.

Hi. Sad to hear about your headache. Take a quick nap. What i used to do when i get such headaches is put some ice cubes wrap in handkerchief and slowly put on forehead.

that must be very painful, yes i have heard such a bad headache that you feel like putting your head somewhere to cool off or have someone massage your temple,i think the best way is to seat or lie somewhere dark and quite and take a nap, maybe also try taking lots of water, water is also a natural medicine if taking properly

Thanks for the suggestion about the water. I never really thought about it that much. I was able to take some pain medicine and then I went to sleep at 9pm. I feel so much better this morning. Since I wasn't able to get much done last night I hope that today I will be able to get more done.

Sometimes I do get headache and I will try to sleep and pray that by the time I get up, I will be okay. I am very scared of headache and migraine as I cannot take any medication like paracetamol or aspirin. I am allergy to this type of painkiller. My friend who have severe migraine tend to swallow 2 tablets of ponstan and go and rest.

Sometimes I do get a really bad headache or migraine. I think it comes from stress in my life or being too busy all the time. I usually have to take some time off to lie down and ease my mind and body for a while. Sometimes I have to take some Tylenol or aspirin to help with the severity of a headache or migraine. It usually is gone after a day or two.

Oh yes! I get migraines a LOT and they are the worst. They make me sick to my stomach and hurt so bad. I do have to lay down in a dark room and take some kind of medicine to get some relief. It is the worst having a bad headache like that. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks. Yeah I wasn't able to get anything done. As soon as my husband got home I took the pain killers and went to sleep. It was like 9pm. Which is really early for me to go to bed. But I have felt much better today.

Any pain that originates from any part of the head will truly knock us down to bed. Toothache and migraine are truly an ordeal that ruins our day. These are pains that sometimes wont listen to painkillers. Taking pain killers plus taking hot soup and rest will certainly ease out the pain and provide soothing effect. There are times too that vomiting will help ease out the throbbing pain in the head and this is what i usually do when my migraine strike- i let it out thru induce vomitng, then after take hot soup, analgesic then sleep.

Yeah headaches and migraines are really bad when it causes us to vomit or that we feel better after we have vomited. I wonder why that is? Thankfully last night though I was able to take some painkillers and fell asleep. I will keep that in mind about the hot soup next. I'm sure there will be another one in the future.
