Wow! Why flag?

I was flagged, because I opened a free saving account with only fifty-one cents from my checking account. Then put and automatic transfer for a nickel a week. I was so PO, I'm mean really. I had to verify, the main bank had to verify. I'm a poor person, trying to meets ends, living pay check from paycheck, and a want to be author. And, the saving bank said they understood, but couldn't understand why I would only do a nickel a week. Well that is what I usually* have after all my bills are paid, and getting food. If, I'm flagged one more time that they would keep my money and close down my account. I don't understand it. I'm putting money in there, to be saved, and not using it unless I really need it. Why? for the heavens of me would they flag me, I mean...Anyone, on here know why? What would you do?

Such accounts are often used as "shelf" or "dummy" accounts where funds come and go to so you were flagged as this is suspicious. Instead of having a bank account rather use Paypal and have funds transferred or just get a piggy bank where you can place in some coins from time to time. Your account does raise questions over money laundering etc(even though the figures are not there it is the more the empty account) as nobody opens a bank account with that sum(most banks would charge you more in fees monthly etc). Get more active here on MyLot and you will have $10 to put into that savings account

They may have flagged the account because they thought that the extremely low opening deposit and automatic transfers were being made to "test" the checking account. Sometimes thieves will do that with stolen credit cards. They'll make a small purchase just to test whether or not the card is still active. What you really need to do is contact the bank and talk to them about why your account was flagged. The best that any of us can do is speculate about their reasons for flagging your account, and we'll probably all be wrong since we don't know anything about the bank or its policies. Personally, I don't think it's worth it to have an automatic transfer set up for such a small amount. I tend to save up my change in a piggy bank until I have at least a few dollars, then deposit it to my savings account.
