Finding it more difficult to find....

discussions that have substance. Every day I get a couple of emails from admin saying the discussion I responded to was deleted. I'm very careful when I choose discussions and they seem ok to respond to to me but lately they end up not to be! I just responded to one that's very iffy to me. It's only 2 or 3 lines but even at that I'm worried it's going to be deleted! I know it's tough to think about a lot of things to say about something but don't start the discussion if you don't have enough to say. Sounds easy but obviously it's not. I go through pages of discussions from each topic and am lucky to find 2 or 3 that I can respond to. It's really beginning to be a problem for me. Anyone else having this problem?

Honestly most of the friends I have here when they start discussions I really don't have to worry about their discussion being deleted most of the time. I have only had one of mine get deleted and that was a long time ago, I re-worded my discussion and put it back up and had no problem with it. The number one reason I feel like a discussion gets deleted is poll type of discussion. So I don't ususally answer those if I don't want my response to be deleted...You should respond to discussions from the people that you know they know the rules here so you won't keep getting your responses deleted!

Yes like Lamb gets away with being bad here, so its okay to respond to his discussions... Good morning my love. Oh, the no response section. No offense but no wonder your responses are getting deleted! =( I don't usually go to that section for that very reason...Lol. I'm sorry but I would avoid it like the plague!

You don't mention where yougo to find discussions? Do youonly go to those started by users on yuor friend list or in yur interests? If that is the case then I suggest that you flit about a bit and search under other tabs, like the 'recent' tab for example. Everything that has had recent activity passes there and you should refresh the page every minute or so to see exactlywhat is happening in real time here on myLot. Another idea would be to go to a profile of one of your friends and go back through their started topics and join in there. Maybe you missed some of their topics either because you were too busy or weren't even here. I notice a lot more topics with nothing much to dicuss in the past few days and I put it down to the fact that we are almost at Christmas. many Lotters might be busy offline with preparations and not starting new topics therefore we see more of those started by newer users who are not yet (sadly) familiar with the Guidelines.

She goes to the No response section... I'm not surprised her responses are getting deleted in that section here!

I have been at Mylot for close to 4.5 years now. Even though I do have some periods of inactivity, I do scroll and browse through different discussion interest groups. I have also recently seen much more discussions deleted. I know it is good to have rules that say that using poll type questions and similar violate the guidelines of Mylot, but at times they seem to be a way too harsh. May be, give some bit of leeway somewhere. I know its tough, but required also.

Yeah I have that problem too so usually I just go through the different discussion categories until I can't find anything that interests me. Once I get to that point I just get off mylot for a while because I know it won't be for at least an hour or two until some new good discussions are formed here on mylot.

I'm happy to see I'm not the only one with the problem. I'm not sure what everyone else here is trying to say.

jambi and ctryhnny then if we all of us are so awf ul you post some super substantial discussions like you think we all should make. For a person with unsubstial discussions I usually get plenty of responses so if tu do not like mine I will not cry. lo,.I myself find my friends here make very interesting discussions and I do respond to them. sorry we are not up to phd standards. lol

I agree with you. A lot of them are very superficial. "What's your favorite brand of jeans?" is the last one I think I responded to. Ah, well. What can you do? Some are good, but others not so much. It seems like a lot of people are just trying to get posts, though. And in my boredom, I am encouraging these poor-quality discussions by responding to them. Darn. I always have a hard time coming up with discussions to start, though, too, so sometimes mine are pretty generic. You should start some good ones! And then I can respond to them! Yay! Happy MyLotting!

"what is your favourite fruit/pizza topping/country/food/ ANYTHING AT ALL is a POLL and will be deleted as polls are not allowed. They should be reported. If you particpate in them then you can be certain 100% that youwill lose your post

Generally I work through my email and respond to the discussions my friends have started. Usually most discussions are of value and remain where they are. I stay away from questions that have a "yes" or "no" answer or those of a "poll" type. Once in awhile a discussion I have responded to gets deleted, but it's okay, because the majority of questions have some substance to them. I also like to find topics I am interested in and respond to those. When I begin a topic of discussion I concentrate on what is going on in my life right now. It sure does make posting and responding to posts a lot easier. I hope you are able to get to some quality posts and respond to them. It makes being a member of mylot much more fun. Have a great day ctryhnny.

I have turned off all my 'notify's because I would get too many emails and I can access my friends discussions by using the tab.

I understand. I am notified for new posts and new comments on posts I have made. This way I am not missing any posts and am able to respond to all of the discussions

hi ctryhnny Do you ever stop and think what that sounds like to those of us who feel we made good discussions? I feel mint have substance but maybe you are looking for works of art and most of us are just ordinary people writing about things in our lives so if thats not substance sorry and just go on by.I have a lot friends who feel my discussions are good enough for them to respond to. Also I myself have found some great discussions but maybe i am not as picky. You know when people start with this n"o good discussions" I w ant to yell "well then write some and show us unsubstantial people just how perfect discussions are made?"

I have a hard time finding good discussions go respond to. Lately, it seems that discussions just don't have much substance, nor are they all that interesting. I will read a discussion that seems interesting, but they aren't. I have to look for a long time, to find discussions that are interesting enough to respond to. I will stay and post anyway. Mylot is way to much fun not to come inn here and post. That is what it is scanning anyway. Take care, and have fun mylottinv.

I tend to respond to everything as best I can, but I too find that sometimes the discussion has been deleted after commenting.

hello ctryhnny, it's really sad to know that our responses are being deleted sadder if it's our discussion. I think we must be very careful in choosing for the discussions to be responded. I've tried once or twice that my response were deleted because the topic was deleted. It sounds sad, but it's quite okay than the first time I've experienced in mylot. One of my discussions were being deleted, I was surprise why? it's because of the double posting thing., I posted it twice for my net at that time hanged so I reload again without knowing that I've posted it twice and it hurts me a lot.

hi did you not know the rules for not doing stuff in ddiscussions are in the guidelines and mylot expects us all to read then so you have no excuses not having any post deleted if you have read the rules. they are there and easy to read and should be read by us all.

I had experienced that too. Mostly from the new user discussion. It is not nice that the discussion you participated got deleted but I learned then. I am very careful now to choose a discussion to respond to. Well, luckily I am that from my own started discussion since I join here, all of my discussion are still intact and not been deleted.
