I feel so angry with my self as I was trying to clean up typos I had missed in a response and it took two tries and I will be damned the second try to correct errors had an error in it.I have been working stressed lately and am wondering if that's why I am screwing up typing. My space bar sticks at times but that does not excuse my typingI the wrong letters. Honestly I do know how to spell. This typo business of mine is really getting to me. I wanted my writing to be perfect mylotters. you r take.

Hi Hatley, certainly stress will affect our concentration on what we are doing. It would be nice if we stay away from what we are doing and relax ourselves having a rest, or a cup favorite drink, or breathing deeply and slowly outdoor for a while, or anything that can shake away the stress. I would like to have a short move and do some weeding under the shady rambutan tree for 15 minutes or so. It works well, I can handle the previous work smoothly after having a relaxed look at the green green grass in the gentle breeziness I believe you won't do any typo after you relax yourself doing something that will release you from the street Happy posting and Merry Xmas

Happy New Yeas lkbooi yes I fou nd o ut just getting up and going for a short walk relaxed me and I came back and typed with no errors at all. Also my son pointed out to me that my font size was too small and could be making it hard for me to read and type perfectly too. I am doing so much better today. I had a lovely Christmas.

Maybe the cause is stress that is why you made typos. To get rid of stress, I think having a relaxation is a good thing or doing a meditation. Its like taking rid of dirty garbage inside our body so that we can type clearly.

I have had typos too at times, and it is embarrassing, as I am not sure that other mylotters know what I am trying to say. I have a tendency to type way to fast, and I make lots of typos. I know we don't have to have perfect typing in here, but I like you, want my responses and comments to not have typose in them. I am so used to typing fast, that it really is hard for me to slow down. I really haven't seen you make all that many typos though. I have to double check mine after typing it to make sure there are no typos. Take care, and have a very Merry Christmas.

hi rosekiss Merry C hristmas to you too.It never snows in So uthern Californis but its going to rain as its pouring right now. I also type way too fast then see a whole string of errors.I guess we really want to get into mylotting and get too fast and then actually we waste time in the long run having to correct all the typos.

hi tigeraunt When I read that my friends here are so busy and wi sh they had nmore time to mylot I sort of feel guilty but still at 86 i guess I have earned my right to sit back. But I did work till I was almost 80. So many older people here in California are working way past retirement age, simply because their social security checks are just not enough to counter the higher cost of living.

Stress can cause lots of things to happen. And maybe if your keyboard sticks a bit, just clean it out. And maybe you are also trying to type too fast. I also make mistakes typing, but I always look at them and fix them. And besides, I have a built in spell checker, so my computer fixes most words for that I misspell or mistype.

Another option to do is to write them down in a document somewhere. Then once it is all the way you want it, cut it and paste it into MyLot. I just rather come here and type as I go.

Yes in a way, sometimes stress takes over on the things that we are doing most especially typing. Sometimes when I am preoccupied with a lot of thoughts I jumbled up words that I am writing and the worse putting a lot of errors on it. What I do to avoid it is to concentrate and focus on what I am doing rather than sinking up my attention to the stress that I am encountering.

thats it is it not, getting hung up on the stress I feel instead of focusing on what I am doing and do it correctly. I am going to try to ignore the stress and work on correcting my focujs on my work here.

I know what you mean. Be thankful you're not using an iPhone with autocomplete. That's absolute hell! The damn thing runs away on me. I'm traveling with hubby, and we're sharing my laptop. It's his turn now, so I'm using my iPhone.

hi danishcanadian Maybe t hen I should not envy those with iphones as so many people complain about using them to get on mylot. That' does not sound like fun to me either. I found out from my computer savvy son that some of my typos problem may be I was using too small a font size as I have a cataract in my left ey e so my right ey e is the only one really seeing well. The fonr size has made a big difference to me since yesterday Christmas day when I made a dismal 34 cents. But it was Christmas and my son was visiting me so thats okay. Everyone needs some family on Christmas day so what if I did not earn much, I can make it up.

hi dawn gosh I love you haha You are so right and one day you must write Dawn's Truisms. Not sure if thats a valid word but yo u will get my meaning.Yes at times I think my fingers are dyslexic even if I am not.I had a coworker at the Library who was dyslexic and was always giving me little presents but she almost always put them in the wrong locker. S he could not work on the adult side as her shelving books was a disaster so they put her on the kids side doing the picture books but still she got confused and started shelving in the grade school shelves and that did it. S he got fired as I hgad to redo her work on top of my own. lol

When your mind is on something besides what your typing you will have all kinds of typos. Sounds like your computer keyboard needs cleaned. Bet that would help alot. Mine sure is bad. When I got the new AC adapter I asked the guy how much he would charge to clean the computer out. He said it would be about $90 but he does a thurough job and adds things if they are needed too. I turn mine upside down and knock as much out of the keyboard as I can. I need to quit snacking while on it.

okay once more lost all my comment grrr. yes as I do snaack at the keyboard I bet it does need cleaning.I once accidentally spilled a glass of w ter on part of my keyboard and my son bawled me out royally.Bt when later I went into his room to hand him his mail, he bumped a large coke and it spilled all over his keyboard. I laughed and said"yes you are also old enough to know better than that. What a mess." He frowned then laughed too.I am going to clean mine ou t in the morning. Its already dark here at just a little after 6 p.m.

Hi Hatley Well, if other user is understanding all the things you want to say then it really don't bother more. And for me, I am understanding all the thing you mentioned so no problem. About stress yes it can happen. Stress can surely divert mind and can create mistakes like typos. And about that keyboard space bar , I have same problem with my desktop and faced those mistakes many time. In short it can happen to anyone. So be happy. ;)

Hatley lol I think we can all relate...I remember when I first joined myLot. I would get soooo upset because I couldn't fix a typo...once it's posted that's it.... Try as I did, I still made typos..and recently I noticed I am transposing letters..when I proof read I don't see the error..but after I post I see the error... Well I decided all I can do is my best..I try to not make errors but if I do I think others will understand. I will not judge others for their typos so I hope for the same consideration..

I can correct with a comment but it makes me feel really imperfect.I think my problem is stress and wanting to type faster than I can. lol

It happens to everyone Hatley. I touch type when on my laptop. So if I happen to be looking at my keys I will make a mistake. The only way I don't make mistakes is when I don't watch my keystrokes. I make mistakes on my iPhone because I have to look at the virtual keyboard. I'm fast with it, but often type an I for an o just because of the small keys and my finger touches the adjacent key. Everyone makes mistakes typing at times. As long as a post makes sense to me, I'm not concerned with any typos they might have made. Chow!

I am sorry that you're stressed out. Try not thinking about your stress level and then you won't have those typos! Yes easier said than done. there are several reasons for typos, sometimes our fingers just don't like to hit the right keys. Darn things. My reason is when I am in a hurry.

That happens a lot. Especially when you really want to say something do much and all the conviction is running through your fingers, the spelling gets all messed up. It's okay, the message is more important than the way it is typed. That's a problem with most writers, they try so hard to be a smartass that they forget the point of writing is message delivery.

hi welcome to mylot Nursefrai are you a nurse? I was a nurses aide for many years so now even when I have to go to the hospital for an illness I d o feel at home. Yes really the message is the most important part of a discussion l just got a response that was so ]odd I did not even know thow to answer it. Just a combination 'of mised up letters and a number.I hated to do it bu t I reported it as it seemed to me to be a stupid joke.I mentioned this ' because of your comment about being a smartass. That response fitted the term to a t.

hi nursefrai Merry Christmas I think you probably responded then commented a few times on the same discussion so only the response will be counted on that number but yet it all goes down to your earning algorithm in that every thing you type will earn you. So the count beside your name is merely an activity count as everything you comment or respond to will earn you money.I often find myself commenting maybe ten times in one discussion and only the first comment is counted yet I do get paid for every comment and response I make. pretty neat getting paid for having f un.

Thanks, and yeah, I just started answering forums yesterday, I don't understand though why the number beside my name is still 18, I've answered a ton of forums, it's fine though because I'm having so much fun and I enjoy speaking my mind. Yes I am a nurse, I'm only a fresh graduate though. That's really a cool story about one of the responses. I'm glad I'm quite relevant with this. Thank you for valuing my response :)

You haven't gotten the space bar fixed yet? Can your son fix it? Sometimes when I'm stressed, I start typing in my mind, well before my fingers catch up. And I'm weird-right now, everything is correct, but if (I just started typing a capital i) I make a mistake and realize it much later, I'll backspace over the entire line, instead of using the cursor keys to get there. I waste SO much time doing that. The last paragraph, I made a number of mistakes but was able to correct them within a letter. I've already made some here. But tonight my brain is working hyper speed compared to my fingers, but that's probably because I'm still thawing out from walking the dog.

hi scorpio I am in Southern California and its been freezing all day even in our room. My fingers felt stiff while typing and even hurt some. Some mornings I have just crawled back in bed. My mind often goes faster than my keys and I find the first letter of the next word stuck on the last word I typed. What I find myself doing is forgetting to Capitalize the I's which makes my work look childish.I have gone to using preview and edit as in the long run it does save time because I have it all corrected before I hit post.

I make lots of typos sometimes and can feel angry with myself. If I try to stop it it gets worse. So I practice a form of meditation and just focus on my breathing in and out as I am typing, rather than holding my breath trying to get it right. Acceptance is the best way forward when this happens. It is only a temporary thing as the mind doesn't like discipline. I see that worry leads to hurry and hurry lets to errors being made. So no more hurry-worry... _Derek

Like the signs of a cellphone running on low bat that needs to be charged, our bodies will give out signals to your brain and cause you to react. You will need to heed it or you will need to heed the doctor and his invasive medications. Take a good rest and drink plenty of warm water. Water hydrates and more importantly, clears your body's accumulated toxins. Take good care of yourself.

Yes, stress can definitely cause typos. I am extremely stressed this evening and my most recent post (about me dreaming of tiny homes) just suffered as a result. I didn't even see the typo until after I had posted; then, I see it--glaring at me from the screen. *Sigh*

hi again you know the last 2 bedroom apt we rented at double the price we had paid in our old apartment. It had a nice garden setting okay but there were things really wrong. For one thing they had a furnace that made hissing noises and belched out the most awful smell. the repair m an said to me that he could not repair that furnace as cheaply as he could put in a new unit.He told uss not to use it as it was dangerous. So when my son got laid off his job the owner was only to quick to evict us not even letting myh son have a chance to find a n=ew job. The otrher pain in the neck was the parking. People had parking areas up against our bedrooms so when they revved up an old car it filled my bedroom with exhaust fumes.I had to more than once tell someone they were filling my bedroom with noxious fumes. I think for one person or even two a small house might be perfect.

I've talked about them before--both on here and elsewhere. I've again come back around to really thinking about one, because I am yet again in a housing situation where I am not truly feeling settled. I'd thought that this rental was "it," but it has been turning more into a headache than anything else.
