once i was walking to my house and got cornered by a large turkey.it was just 'growling' at me and puffing up all its feathers ,i thought it would hurt me and i was so terrified.i had heard stories how turkeys can gorge out your eyes and are antagonised by the colour red and i was in a red skirt.i screamed my lungs out until some men came to my rescue, ever since that day when i see a turkey i pass the other way and am still terrified of them.have you been attacked by any animal and what was it like?

I've been attacked by roosters several times. The time I remember the most was when one of them attacked my then teenage daughter. She kicked him so hard he passed out and she then ran screaming to the house "I killed the rooster! I killed the rooster!" I don't know whether she was upset or happy! That rooster had it in for her the rest of his life. He was weird, anyway.

I think some roosters just come out of the shell like that. My parents had one rooster who seemed to have it in for the world. I think they had hatched him out there, so whatever went wrong with him must have been something internal and not environmental. There was no reason for him to turn mean like that. No other chicken of theirs ever was like that.

Turkeys don't growl, and the bird likely was just making a show of being threatening. I won't say that he wouldn't have attacked, but I think your reaction was a bit of an overreaction. I've been chased by cows, accidentally kicked by calves, attacked repeatedly by one very poorly-wired rooster (He was always crazy, and I was so happy to see him sold.), attacked by mother hens, pecked by chickens, chased by guinea fowl, bitten by dogs, scratched by cats... Even after all of this, I am still very much an animal person. If I didn't spend so much time with animals, I'd have fewer instances of getting stepped on, clawed, scratched and run over. However, my life would be a lot less fun and a lot emptier.

oh yes, I am also terrified with turkey. I was attacked by a pig when I was about 7 years old. Actually the poor animal did not attack me intentionally. I went inside our neighbors backyard and did not see the pig tied on the nearby tree. I was running when my foot caught a rope and the poor pig was scared and run towards me..circling around and the rope entangled my feet..and I fall down

Hello Pom, yes I have heard it that animals can be dangerous sometimes but fortunately I have never been attacked by any sort of animal in my life yet.

When i was 14, and i went to Miami, Fl, to spend my summer tme. I also had a lawn mowing job, and was working. I was attacked by a German dog, real tall, and black. He almost bited me, but i ran. Since that, i don't like dogs, and other pets. I hate them, and dont buy for my kids. Merry Christmas.

I was only attacked once in my life by an animal. That was a mad street dog. I was walking past the road when suddenly my mom called me to run to the home because my teacher had arrived. I started running. I was at the corner of the street when i heard a dog's bark and it kept growing louder. When i turned back i saw the dog was running behind me. I had no idea what to do but run as fast as i can. I almost ran at a speed of 100 miles per hour to reach the home and closed my gate at once. Thankfully just survived.

I have 6 animals myself, have had animals while growing up, and also volunteer at the local shelter. I get bitten, grabbed at and so on on a daaily basis. My parents had this one dog, he was abused prior, and they had adopted him. He would attack myself, he would try to grab at my neck, cling onto my legs, and just sink his teeth in. I was so afraid to be in my own house, this dog should of been put down, yet my parents thought it was no big deal (because he wasnt attacking them just us kids). I use to get asked how I got black eyes, scratches all over my face, bite marks up my arms and legs. I use to have to carry around a baseball bat in my own house. My parents were very irresponsible and to this day I wouldnt trust them if they allow a dog to attack their own children regularly.

Really a turkey? That is an unexpected animal. I was not necessarily "attacked" I was bit... by a dog once. I was young and my friend suggested we run back and forth in front of her dog... playing a game... well he got me when I was running past by the seat of my pants *ahem* and pretty badly. I didn't realize he would actually try to bite me and I think she knew that he might. She didn't say anything to me about it. I had to get stitches and it really sucked!
