I was just wondering how the teddy bear even came to be so famous, when the real one is actually pretty scary and can even kill people.
A friend just gave me one, and looking back, when i was kid, i always thought bears were as cute and cuddly as they toy.
Wouldn't that be just promoting to kids to hug those huge and dangerous bears?

I used to have three of the original ones but they got scorched in a fire. It is a cool story isn't it?

Oh, that i think i have watched in some nat geo or discovery channel?? i think that before they made a stuffed animal... and it was named or called teddy bear because at the time it was theodore roosevelt's time and probably the one who developed this, gave this as a gift.

I think the story goes that President Teddy Roosevelt was on a bear hunting trip and was having trouble finding any bear; his hunting pack of dogs finally came across an old, sick bear but Teddy refused to shoot him for sport. A comic strip artist drew a picture of this event, and, since President Roosevelt was very popular at the time, the idea of a stuffed bear (called a "teddy bear") was formed. And we still have them around today!

This was the first time i have ever heard of this.. How one little event became the origin of those teddy bears that we still have until now.
