Do you think people are happier when they give or do volunteer work? It always uplifts me when I do something for someone in need. Are you uplifted and happier when you do volunteer work or help out your family or friends?

I did volunteer work for almost three years. I did it because I wanted to help my community. About 70% of the people we served were ungrateful and expected more and more... It left my very vulnerable at the end and I quit. It was sad when it looked as if some of them just wanted to receive and was never prepared to give from themselves either...

According to my mother , sharing is loving ! When you share, it is like you are also giving a part of yourself. One can't account the happiness she feels when she shares.

Giving is sort of a gratifying experience for me emotionally as it seems to be indescribable emotion more than just being happy. When you something good, it really feels good. When you do some giving without expecting anything in return, then it makes you a "HUMAN BEING".

It's very true My friend. If you can forgive someone without asking anything from him. The Happiest thing where we as a human can help, forgive without damaging the bond of brotherhood

I do think that people are happier when they give and do volunteer work. I know that I personally feel better when I do volunteer work and help others. It a great thing to see that what we are doing is helping. That we are able to focus on others instead of always focusing on ourselves. I haven't been able to do as much volunteer work lately as I would like. But I hope that when my daughter gets a little older and we get another vehicle that I can do more.

Sure,I take pleasure in helping someone in need.I don't have too much ability, but I really like to start from doing the chores first.Such as helping someone with direction;giving some food to the old or disabled beggars on the road;ect. For these sort of things I gain happiness from the process.Anyway,we should be warm-hearted and willing to offer the help as well as look out the potential hazards so not as to be deceived. Happy new year!

When I give or donate something to People it gives me inner satisfaction. I feel very happy to help my friends or family members in whichever way possible. In doing so my mood is uplifted and I feel happier. This can be any type of service like helping them with their daily work or in their studies.

Actually that is one aspect of the Bible verse that says "It is more blessed to give than to receive". Studies have demonstrated the positive effect of altruism. It lifts your mood and improves your health.

No. I am more happy when I write, sing, or play the piano. And also when I listen to a sermon at Church. That is what I like the best. I do not get any greater joy out of volunteering or helping out. I will do it if required, but that does not give me a much greater lift then using my talents.

I love helping people..I really do. I just feel like I've accomplished something by doing that and the people are so happy for the help. I wish I could volunteer but I don't have a car at the moment. I wouldn't mind volunteering at the local hospital for various duties. I think that's where people are needed the most. I even feel good when I donate items to the thrift stores. I love buying from them, and their prices are so reasonable.

I love to do volunteer works in the community, I always have time for others in different kinds and forms. Anyone can help even if not physically present. With family it's a different story. Help always mean financial aid. I do give but I eventually the spirit wears off.

That's right. Indeed giving is an obligation that gave birth to happiness. Sharing and giving in its broadest sense is certainly not just in material form. But more than that is sharing kindness and compassion. Giving in terms of attention and concern. We certainly understand the true meaning of sharing and giving. Not how much we can share or give. But how much our sincerity in this regard. Could have a desire to share with sincerity. It was happiness.

Yes, that is true. When I give, I'm happy for it. And it is written as well that a cheerful giver would be blessed. We hould not give up doing what is good and giving to those in need for it will return to you more emotionally like being happy in your life. :-) Have a nice day!

as a volunteer, I find happiness in helping people. No money could pay the smile they give each time they say thank you for your services. Happiness is priceless.
