I saw a ton of great discussions!

I take my friends here very seriously and when I have made a new friend here or been away for a while, I check their profile to see what I have missed. I went to this profile and guess what??? They had been active for quite some time and what a sea of great and original discussions they had started. I had something to add and appreciate about every one of them! Even though they are older discussions...according to guidelines, they should never be duplicated so I might never get the chance to add to them in the future. I think I am going to revive them. So..have you ever found a wealth of info looking at a profile? Have you ever revived a great discussion? Will you?

This is true! I know I've missed some terrific discussions because I didn't happen to be online when they were current. I have tried reviving one or two and as long as I get some reply fromthe original poster its great. I even came across a couple of people I now would like to stalk...... I mean follow

Most people here wouldn't mind the stalking...I mean following I am disappointed when the poster doesn't respond back too though..especially when I am super interested in their content. Thanks for responding!

Yes I do the same thing. I look often for older discussions worth bumping up. I don't always find them on a persons profile but sometimes just by tagging them I find older ones to the right.

Oh..yes...I have seen some to the right of some that I have responded and/or started that I have liked. I don't mind that they are older if they are good quality.

I also think that the quality of the discussions matter more than how old they are or how new they are. If everybody tries to bring back the old discussions with comments it will certainly help new guys to respond to them.

Yes, I have spent quite a fair amount of time checking through the old discussions of other members. There are plenty of good discussions to uncover and I always respond to the good ones, even if they are 5 or 6 years old. There have been several periods during which there do not appear to be many new discussions that suit me, so my time is better used by scrolling through the archives.

There is a ton of great discussions to be found in the archives for sure. I think that people often have in their mind that the newest is most important and, it can be, BUT..where guidelines prevent us from starting duplicates..there are always those lost discussions that can be a real zingers.

Hi Jen! You have always been loyal to your friends' discussions (that includes me). It is sometimes interesting to dig out the older posts. If a topic appeals me, I just share my thoughts, irrespective of the fact that how old it is. Have a great day!

Hi Jen! Thanks so much for the compliments. Mentor is a bit higher pedestal, let me your friend. You yourself is a veteran here now. I can understand that as you were preoccupied therefore, it was not possible for you to participate in your friends' discussions.

Hi Deepak! You are very kind to me. I have always thought of you as one of my greatest friends and mentors here. My loyalty has certainly been stressed as I have been so super busy for several month now. I found some wonderful older discussions while trying to catch up. I think I will make it a habit to check profiles for things I have missed while I have been away. Better late than never I guess. I like to be the early bird but that isn't working out well right now. Thanks for responding!

You are very modest. I remember when I first started here how kind and helpful you were to me. You set a great example for me and taught me a ton. These kindnesses are not forgotten and it taught me that the things I do and say on here have the potential to have a great impact on others just as it did for me. Thank you friend

Can't be duplicated? Why would you want to? I just go ahead and write something. I have thought of reviving some of my old ones cause they didn't get many responses. And I always revive the snowflake one every year. It might be time to revive the Urban legends again for Halloween this next year. Happy New Year!

I think if we want to start a discussion on a subject that has been done before we could always come from a different direction with it and start it that way. It was be more interesting that way and we could get some interesting responses. What do you think?

I think so too..especially if there wasn't a good turn out on a good topic. Approaching it from another angle could increase interest.

Oh no..I wouldn't want to duplicate but I do always try to start original stuff. I know that there have been times when I would like to start a subject that someone has started a long time ago and I refrain from it because it has been discussed. That is a good point too about the responses to a potentially great topic. Mylot goes down and it can really effect the responses or the knowledge of certain topics.

I have a confession to make. I just added a friend and I kind of liked her style of participation. I visited her profile and responded to a few of her topics. Visiting profiles to look for topics not just started by the user but also responded to by these gems is something I do often.

I don't have much time to look around any more, can barely keep up with my notifications! Oh, who am I kidding? I can't keep up with them. But I have done that in the past, looked around and found an older discussion and revived it.

Happy New Year JeninTN! Any new plan for 2013? I notice that there are lots of great discussions on mylotter's profile except me...LOL. Others have banner promotion and some have decorated with nice images. Ya! Reviving a discussion is a good idea! Why not? You might have a different ideas or ways to express it. Nice topic!

Yes i did that today morning, as i was missing old people here. I keep coming here in intervals due to no time, but i could never leave my lot. I miss grandpabob. One person who was very good at discussing topics but i am not able to find them. I too take my friends quite seriously here, now it will be 5 years for me being here and i feel great about it. Now i am going to be fixed here for a long time.

That about how long I have been here too. I can't imagine leaving but this past year has turned out to be quite a challenge. I have had to be away more than ever before. I miss the great mylotters that have left and wonder about them most every time I am on here. Thanks for the response.

Hiya Jen, Suppose that you could re write them on another angle by going and referring back to the same topic but only in part not so easy to do. Trouble is I donĀ“t have that kind of time to go and find things as I am five minutes here and five minutes there kind of thing but I still like to participate if I can. Some people are great writers and they can write easily about somethings and let us all know as well. You can learn a lot about life on here too. xxx

Hiya Jen, I see it like this if we were all given a portrait to paint any portrait and we had to do that portrait like its supposed to be none of us is going to paint it the same are we? Because we are all different we all see things different so anything that someone has written has to come out different too. Well that is my way of seeing again there are variations to everything thank goodness. The unknown writer is often the greatest writer of them all.xxx

I've been away for awhile so I've not have the chance to do this. But I did in the past. There are a few interesting characters on the 'lot' who prompted me to look at their profiles more closely. And yes, I have discovered that they've raised some interesting discussions in the past. Hopefully I'd get to do that again once I've caught up on all of my notifications. HNY Jen!

I have been 6 months without notifications.

This site has so much history it's unbelievable. When I find an old discussion I go to the author's profile. But sometimes there isn't any profile and I wonder if they've come back with another username or are they gone for good from the annals of mylot. If you had absolutely nothing to do all day you could spend the whole day in here searching around and never get bored. It's all very interesting. I especially like the stalking and discovering new stuff.

When I get a new friend request, I will check out their profile and I know on occasions been engrossed in their discussions and see they are on the same level as me, and I end up responding to two or three of theirs and of course I will add them straight away, it's great to find a kindred spirit. I do a lot of searching and I find a lot of old discussions, some even 5 or 6 years old but I will still respond, even if the original poster is not here any more, I know other Mylotters can still benefit from a response.

I have found oler discussions that are several years old, and I don't know if the ones that started them, are still in here, but I still responded to them, as they ere very interesting. It really doesn't matter how old the discussions are, some of them have pertinent information that I can use. I don't go into my friends profiles, and maybe I should to see what discussions they have started. I do need to start checking their discussions more, as I have found it hard to find anything to respond to in the last several days. I sometimes will go to the very last page of discussions in any category, to see if their is anything I can respond to. I do enjoy being here, but it does get frustrating at times where there isnt much to respond to. Take care, and have fun mylotting.

Sometimes, when I do not find interesting discussions among the current lot, I try to find one among the older lot, and its only fair since we need to keep our interest level(s) higher.
