Do U Drink Diet Sodas?

Well, many do - it seems to be very common in the USA and some other countries, also where I live. Many want to avoid the big amount of sugar that is in the ordinary sodas, and most of us know sugar is not good. But have a look here.. Do you suffer from headaces or migraine? memory loss? irritability? insomnia? weight loss/gain? loss of control of diabetes? suicidal tendencies? Multiple Sclerosis (MS)? - According to Dr Hull there are 92 side effects from aspartame. The easiest way to find out if you use aspartame in some foods or drinks you take, is to change the sodas to pure water and remove everything else that has aspartame from your diet. Then you see what happens, if your health gets better. http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-side-effects.html Here is a case study of a three year old girl who nearly died of aspartame. http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-case-histories.html

I am not much into drinking carbonated drink, not because I am too picky, but I am not really used to drinking it in a daily basis. In fact, I only have had some sodas when attending to events or special occasion. I am satisfied by drinking water it’s a more staple beverage for me. And it’s good for your health also because it doesn’t contain any artificial additives or flavors.

The same thing is true with things like Crystal Light- SOOOOOO bad for people! They are now saying that causes cancer! I stay away from anything diet and anything that takes out sugar and replaces it with other things. It is so bad for us...

It seems that deceiving people just by giving any product a catchy name and beautiful package is sooo easy! I wish the money that they put into these sodas, would be used to give people clean water, we would all be a lot healthier. Yeah, let's keep drinking what we were designed to have, pure water!

I used to drink diet sodas, but they aren't the only thing that has aspartame. There are also drink mixes that also have aspartame in it. However, there are diet drinks that have sucralose in it, and if there's nothing else to drink, that's what I'll turn to. Aspartame IS very unhealthy. Bad for your brain. Messes people up badly. Best to read closely the ingredients list closely. My mom used to have big bottles of a drink that she got for free with aspartame, but one of my older sisters taught her about it, and last month in December 2012, we had to donate it to a thrift store that accepts food and drinks. I also have those drinks, but I'm thinking about pouring it out, cleaning it out and pouring in regular water in it instead of throwing the bottle itself away.

Well, I hope you all drink clean water instead of soda - we were designed to drink water. When I feel tired after eating, I just drink some water after a while. It helps directly. We'd better not mess with our brain with these artificial sodas.. I wish you all good health..

I tried diet soda before, But I didn't like it. So I don't really drink it, I don't like the taste. It taste different and weird plus In my mind it's still a soda, So why drink it instead of good tasting sodas. I don't know. I'm just a teenager when I tried it and I didn't know all about it. But still, even when I'm an adult,. I still don't like the taste of it.

It seems most people don't like these diet sodas. It can actually protect those who don't drink them - it is easier to say no..

I drink diet soda occasionally. I have also heard of the negative side effects of drinking diet soda but my mother doesn't believe it so she always buys it. When I go to the store with her I try to tell her not to buy it. I'm not sure if the studies are correct that diet soda is bad for the body but it's better to be safe.

Yes, better be safe, and we feel way better from drinking water instead. It seems many have forgotten how good water feels. Why not set a good example for your mother. It takes some time to accept something that is new and different..

I admit I drink diet soda. I have since I was about 7 yrs old. My best friend growing up was a very brittle diabetic and you now how kids always share. We use to walk home from school together and we would stop at this small family store and get a soda. Neither of us ever had enough money for our own soda so we always shared. I got so use to it that regular soda tastes terrible to me.

I understand that habit is hard to leave, but maybe you can do it little by little, and replace it with clean water that can cleanse your system. Wish you good health..

The diet varieties of soft drinks taste horrendous to me so I never bother with them at all. I actually find it hard to believe that they have become as popular as they are because I would prefer not to buy any if they only have the diet ones in the shop.

Yes, it is kind of surprising that these sodas are so popular.. Maybe the taste buds are different and not so sensitive in everyone - could be due to smoking or something else...

Like many here, I detest the taste of diet sodas, and I have never been much of a pop drinker anyway. I do find though, they come in useful ON OCCASION, to trick a tummy into thinking it is full. You know those days when you just can't get the idea of something sweet out of your head? The carbonation from one of those extra small cans makes me feel very full and the fact that there are very few calories makes it worth the occasional use. Hey by the way this makes 36!!! and you did a marvellous job of keping up with the answers

Well, thank you - people are different so it was not so difficult to answer them when I think of it. I guess you have some carbonated mineral water that may give that feeling of being full, or even the soda with sugar occasionally may be better than the one with aspartame. There is an article about bananas that was published in Awake! in the 70s - you might have seen it or you will find it on the CD - a ripe banana is full of nutrition and is not fattening as far as I've heard, so it can help too if we want something that gives temporary strength.. Here is a good article about the importance of drinking water: http://expertscolumn.com/content/what-are-most-important-things-we-should-do-have-good-health Good health to you..

When I was younger I did try to drink a diet soda from time to time, but it really didn't take me all that long to realize that I got splitting headaches when I tried to drink them. As I've gotten older, I've also realized that I am not able to use artificial sweeteners in my coffee or tea. Thus I've come to the conclusion that I am very sensitive to artificial sweeteners and I will not consume them at all to keep from the headaches and general ill feeling. Thus, the simple answer to your question is that I do not drink diet sodas at all anymore.

Sounds really good. Artificial sweeteners are not meant for any of us and sooner or later they will harm us - Keep spreading the word and maybe others will stay much healthier too..

My husband is a diabetic. I watch him down 2 to 3 diet cokes a day. then he is on Splenda. he used to go through a 12pk every couple of days. I have gotten him to slow down a bit. But then he turns to Splenda to sugar his tea. There are many foods that contain aspartame. Trust me I know because I do all the reading and shopping for my husband and his diabetic care. Personally I would rather use plain sugar than anything that is put into your body as synthetic. Someone has to make aspartame. Sugar is grown naturally. I read every label etc now. My husband got worse with his blood glucose readings. he had to go on sliding scale insulin. We got him somewhat stablized so he could go back on his reg insulin only. But now has to give himself 2 injections of insulin a day. When he eats and his blood is out of whack, he will always say it is something he ate that made his blood sugar go up. he will not allow anyone to tell him all this diet stuff is doing it. It is hard to get him to drink a glass of water. He tells me he does at work. I am not sure cause he sure doesnt at home. I just had to back off because when you are an adult and want to do whatever it is its not easy on your wife/mother/partner to take care of you. Unfortunately aspartame is in many more foods than we even can think of. Its sad.

Yes, we all have to decide how to take care of our health, and respect other adults of course. You could try if he likes green tea with lemon - it might help with stabilizing the blood sugar. The combination of green tea and citrus fruit, preferably organic, tastes great and some doctor wrote it might help diabetics. Cinnamon is good too, according to some health people. I like to drink warm water with a little cinnamon. It is sweet in itself, so I don't want any sugar or honey in it. No harm in trying, as they can't harm anyone...

Even if I know that diet colas could be a lot better than drinking the regular colas, still I do not take the diet colas. I do not like the taste. It tastes like a stale cola for me.

Maybe it is the salt in the chips that makes you thirsty, and the heated fat is not good either. The sugar and caffeine in colas can be very addictive. Yes, better replace it with healthier stuff..

I try to drink as much water as I can coz I am scared of getting sick with UTI all over again. So I practically stay away from chips and greasy food coz they are the usual reasons for me drinking colas.

I know I shouldn't drink diet sodas and I have gone months without drinking diet soda. I like to drink diet soad rather than regular soda, because I don't want all those calories. I don't drink as much soda as I use to and I have slowly cut down again. I will not say that I will never drink diet soda again, because I know that I will. I know it's so bad for me too. I've changed a lot about my diet except for this. I know diet soda can cause cancer just as well as any other processed food.

At least you are honest.. And one can gain weight due to aspartame, at least that is what I read.. If you can get clean spring water, you will find that it tastes really good and doesn't toxify your system.. I hope you can find some.

I know. Last summer I was drinking a gallon of distilled water a day. Distilled water is way better than tap water because of all the additives they put in our water supply these days. I find it harder to drink water in the winter when it's cold outside. I have to slowly bring that amount back up again.

I've been aware of the risks of aspartame for quite some time, I don't drink diet soda. Unfortunatly aspartame is found in many things including almost all gums and mints. Also if we researched all the things that are added to our food and its side effects we would not really have very much to eat anymore. It is a sad situation that alot of our food is slowly poisoning us and most people don't realize this is why they do not feel well.

Well - better keep to ordinary food, as natural we can get it. We can only do our best, and we can survive without gums and mints. Some products might be without aspartame though, so we can use them. We will soon see the new world according to the promises in the Bible, without selfish, greedy people - then the earth will be clean from all pollution and nobody will be sick. Sounds like a dream?? Yes, but we have good reason to believe the earth will be a paradise in the near future.. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2003841?q=paradise&p=par

How can people stand to drink anything with aspartame? By the taste alone, you can tell its not meant for consumption. Its like eating pesticides. That's what the taste makes me think of.

Well, that is a good reason to avoid aspartame.. You can be happy that your taste buds are still working, as that is maybe not the case for everyone who has been drinking diet sodas for a long time. Good health..

I do not drink soda's at all. Might be that if you take in those large (over) doses you do get health problems. But to be honest I think everything you eat or drink too much will do so. Poisoning is officially: taking too much of something. So you can get sick/poisoned/die of too much water, cauliflower, bread, soup, etc. BTW I lately read a study that proved that children drinking diet soda's were losing weight. Not because of the aspartame (or other fake sugar in it) but because after drinking it their body/brains did see it as an intake of sugar and there was no need for wanting/eating sugar (which causes a lose of weight).

Moderation is good in many cases, but there are healthy ways to lose weight, as one can get used to eat less sugar and the gravings stop. One important thing is to get the right kind of bacteria into our gut, then we can digest the food well and don't get hungry more than normally.
