My open air market had 10 mangos for 2.00 today. I love mangos here with chili sauce on them. Someone said I could even make a salsa with them. How about a few ideas for me here?

I love mangoes! I have had a salsa with mango, avocado, cucumber, tomato, and a tangy lime/cilantro-type sauce. which was FABULOUS! I don't have the exact recipe (unfortunately), but I bet if you play around with the ingredients you will come up with a version that you like as well.

Hey now! Mari how are you . Talking about mangoes I had a bad dream about mangoes once. Lol! I dreamt that I was being chased by mangoes . I ran and ran so hard Maria , I'm not kidding and the mangoes jumped at me and smashed themselves on my head.. Finally . Remember this is all a dream , I love mangoes. Anyway, in the dream you know when in your dreams you can't ever fight off that scary monster chasing you? Well I turned around and fought them off, until finally, one by one I grabbed them put them in a bag and took out my weapon. . "THE BLENDER". Isaid aha! I got you mow. Long story short Maria . I put them all in a blender , added a little milk, By the way they hate milk. Lol! And finally a pressed the whip button and away with them. I ended up with a nice and delicious milk shake Maria , which I happened to love very much. Well that's my experience with mangoes mari. Hope you make great sauce with them. Enjoy . Miami206

Check out a recipe online for mango chicken. You can make some and freeze it. Mango chutney is also good. You can use it on cold meats or to add to other dishes. I use it for curries and like to add it to chicken or beef curries.

I live in the US down south to be exact. We don't have enough open air markets. Today is such a beautiful mild day around 60 and cloudy but not cold. I first tried store brought mango salsa which I found at target which was delicious. Since then I attemted my own version which came out fine. The mangoes were already ripe which added a chunky yet smooth consitency include chopped garlic and chopped grape tomatoes and what ever seasonings suit you. There so many ways to be creative whith food we just need to look around. I might try spicy black beans w/chopped mango over rice next. Thanks for all the inspiration mylotters.

I've never had mangoes with chili sauce. Of course, I've also not had mangoes too often, since I live in a northern climate and try to stick to a mostly fresh and local diet. I think that salsa is a good idea. I would suggest making jam out of them, but 10 mangoes doesn't really seem a sufficient number to make a decent quantity. They would also be good in a nice fruit salad. Maybe top it all off with a sprinkle of coconut.

10 mangoes for 2.00??!!?? If I can get one that isn't underripe, it would cost more than 2.00 !!!! The best I can hope for is 4.29 for a bag of frozen mango pieces.

normally they are like 30-40 cents each here as well. But in the open air market they bring them from the city, where everything is cheaper in bulk.. thats why.

I can eat mangoes when they ripe. I peel off the skin and slides them into slides and eat them. There is one type of mango which we can eat them when not ripe. We peel of the skin and cut the fresh into small pieces. Then we add sugar, soya sauce and chili. Omm, it tastes so good.

Wow, thats really cheap. I think it is great if you can make a mango shake or just eat it plain. With me, I would rather eat it plain. My mom used to buy mangoes....and I love eating them. Its not my most favorite fruit but it is one of the delicious fruit I know and I love eating it without any sauce or salsa. Have a great day!

You can make them into shake or smoothie. One mango is enough for a glass of smoothie. Just add ice, milk, and sugar. It is delicious. You try it. :-)

That's really good for money for 10 mangoes at the price of only 2 bucks . Seriously in my country there is a supermarket called fair price but the price is never Fair and you won't be able to get 10 for 2 bucks mango promotion ever from them.

We have an open air fruit market and veggie stand here. I get real lucky there. Now remember most are ripe and need to be eaten in a few days. Maybe why he sells them cheap. Have a great week there.
