Could I get enough sleep tonight?

As I write this topic I could hear the loud music coming from the house of a rear neighbor who maybe is celebrating something. This is really annoying as it seems that this will be an overnight merriment with their stereo speakers at peak volume unmindful of the other residents in the area. Just wondering though why could some people be so inconsiderate if they want to have fun? Your view on this please.

Well that is what some other people are. So rude and mean. And yes, they are inconsiderate. You can report it to the police so they will get over there and ask th em to lower down the volume. That is what we usually do when we had a bar house... As neighbor. We kept oncolaining becuase of too loud music from the bar and eventually it was closed. A bar in a residential area... My goodness.

hi mavic! Not everyone who lives here do this, I am only aware of at least three houses who do this when there is a birthday or what have you. Lucky for us last night however for a baranggay a local government unit directly in-charge of a particular area)patrol had conducted an inspection about midnight and maybe they were advised for they stopped their merriment a little later and we were able to sleep soundly.

People sometimes forget about their civic duties and responsibilities when they are over enjoying themselves. I don't think your neighbor is intentional or perpetual and I hope that it is neither here. I would hate it for you if you have a bad neighbor here. If it is still happening after 11 p.m., you can always invite the police to their party. Short of a permit, I don't think it is legal for them to play loud music during sleeping hours. Otherwise, I think you will need to put on a pair of good headphones and listen to your own collections instead.

Ear Bud Headphone - This the Sennheiser MM 70i ear bud headphone a great headphone to have, very comfortable and excellent sound quality. A good travel companion which you wouldn't want to miss.
Well, you should try out the latest ear bud headsets which are really comfy and great sound quality. I had a pair and unlike those conventional ones they don't feel one bit like you are wearing them. The one I have is the Sennheiser MM 70i which is really good.

hi artemeis! Nice idea, but I'm not use to sleeping with headphones. I always sleep with the stereo on but playing softly that it's only within my earshot. This time however it's not practical for their noise will outdo the sound coming from my stereo. Yes it may not be intentional from their part for they just want to have fun, problem is, they are oblivious of their neighbors plight.

Isn't noise pollution great? Some people are just wretched human beings. They have no consideration for others and do not belong living in civilized society. Usually, they end up residing next to people who simply want quiet.

One of life's joke perhaps. You could not always get what you want and usually ends up with what irritates you most.

I'm sorry to hear about your predicament and I couldn't really tell you why some people choose to blare their music so loud that others can clearly hear it from their house. I remember there was someone that used to drive through our neighborhood at like three in the morning with his speakers and loud bass amplifiers turned all the way up. It would be so loud that it would literally shake our house. It is really obnoxious when people do this, I often wonder how it is even enjoyable for them to sit in the same area as that loud of a noise. The only explanation for it is that the people doing so are just trying to show off.

you pointed it out right jambi, they are trying to show off. I cannot understand how one could appreciate music when it is played very loud to the point that verbal communications with people around you would not be audible enough. They want to impress people not realizing that they are doing otherwise.

Hi, you are right. Some people are very irresponsible and inconsiderate. They don't care of others and give trouble to others. But we can't do anything. They are very selfish. they only think for their happiness only. Loud voice of stereo must be troublesome for you it must have ruined your sleep. I just hate such people.

Hi rosh. You are right there are really people whose kind of thinking is somewhat out of line. Just the other week they again had another celebration and still singing loudly when we retire before midnight. Barely an hour after there was a commotion outside and we learned that their house was stoned from an unidentified source and they had been asking the neighbors but no one admitted to doing it. Well I think they asked for it.

Yes this kind of people full of all over the world,so for your case, why don't you come to their house directly and tell them to turn down their stereo?I think people all can understand that because it is the night time.

Luckily, this was done for us by our barangay (a local government unit) patrol who came to our place before midnight for their music stopped moments later. I just have no idea if someone reported them.

I feel your pain. I live in Puerto Rico and across the street there is a bar where they played music till two or three in the morning every Friday and Sunday night. Sometimes it would happen again during the week maybe one night. We would call the police because we couldn't sleep with all the noise. On Sundays they are suppose to finish playing the music by midnight but many times they would take it too one or two in the morning. Our neighbors and us even signed a petition to have them lower the music. That worked for awhile but then after a month or so the music began to get louder again. Well last October their equipment was stolen and now its been quiet for the past two in half months and we are so happy. I hope the music does not come back at all. People are so inconsiderate and I don't understand why. How could people make all this noise when neighbors are trying to sleep. I live by do onto others as you wish them to do to you. If more people lived by this motto the world would be a much better place.

Yes lelin if everyone would believe and practice the golden rule there would be real fun. Your scenario was worse than what we experience which is only occasional. Good that it has stopped now and hopefully it will result to a complete stoppage.

Well, in my opinion, I find it really annoying to hear the music of the neighbors, especially this one when you want to rest. Once a time, this also happened to me when I had a wall in my bedroom, next to that of a boy two years younger than me. One day I pointed this out, he thankfully consented, and I was never disturbed. I hope the same thing will happen to you too soon, you can sleep soundly.

yes alberello we were able to sleep soundly last night for a local government patrol came to our place before midnight and their music stopped when they left. I just have no idea if someone reported it for this patrol just makes a round in our place once in a while and not every night.

Having a sound sleep won't be possible for you if they continue playing loud music overnight. That's what happens in our hometown as well. There is a temple near our home.Whenever there is a festival, they don't think whether someone in a nearby house is ill or trying or preparing for the exam that's round the corner or going to be held the next day. They will do what they like. They don't care for others.I can understand your problem.

Hi else. You really can't help getting annoyed in situations like this where while they are having fun, they are causing inconvenience to others. Maybe you could at least try to understand if its on other time of the day but at sleeping hours time. Last night at least our baranggay prevented this and we were able to sleep.

Ear plugs help a little bit and you could put the radio on in your bedroom just loud enough to cover the worst of the noise. It might help you to relax. Sometimes I fall asleep in front of the TV so I think half the problem of being kept awake is not so much the noise as the irritation that a neighbour is being selfish. Perhaps a neighbour will be helpful and complain about the noise. In some countries it is against the law and the police will investigate if it is very late and the noise very loud. Perhaps that is not the case in your country.

What we usually do in this case is close all the windows so that loudness could be tone down. We also have a law against this practice it's only that some are either unaware or are really inconsiderate. It's good however that a local government patrol came to our place just before midnight and their music stopped moments after it left. My hunch is they may have been reprimanded and there is also a probability that somebody from our place has reported it.

If it is once in a while it is fine for me, but if everyday it's a different story. Having fun, partying at the house should have a limit at least until 10 or 11 pm and then they can slowly put the music down if it is really disturbing especially if the houses are just near to each other. On day off and with occasion I can tolerate this things but if during weekdays and just partying without occasion I'll will not have second thought to talk to the host and explain my side.

hi ulan! Yes it is only when they are celebrating something. And they could do it from morning till night and most residents here won't care, it's only during sleeping hours that at least we expect them to be considerate enough. They could continue their celebration until morning but they should tone down their music just enough for them to appreciate and not for the whole neighborhood to stay awake. It is good however that a local government patrol came to our place before midnight and maybe reprimanded them for the loud music stopped moments after they left.

I would be annoyed as well if I meet with such situation. My neighbor downstairs sometimes plays music in the evening.Wow,I also get angry especially when I am sleepless.I want to shout out but I can't!I really know how you feel now and be pity about that.I think you can complain it to your neighbor next time when you see her/him.He may not know he already disturbed someone because of the noise he made. Hope you can sleep well and have a nice dream.Good night.

Hi sophie! your case seems to be more difficult than mine for they could do this often while the one we have is when they're celebrating an occasion only. You'll need a ton of patience to be living just above them. Actually we are not close (and don't intend to be close) with this neighbor and believe that it would be better to let our baranggay (local government unit) do the lecturing for we are aware of a past incident where they quarelled with their nearest neighbor due to a similar happening. It seems that they don't know what "getting along" with neighbors meant.
