today i was bored and all rainy day outside so since my computer has been running slower i decided i would try something .. i noticed i had alot of mail in the junk and deleted box.. so i went in and went thru all the junk mail and got rid of everything i did not need almost all of it and put it in my trash box deleted it then went to my deleted box and was suprised at how many i had.. i made a file for my mylot discussions i want to do but at a later time.. so now all i have to do is go to that box and its all there nice.. any new mylot i can add to that box as well instad of delete.. and now i go thur junk mail and delete it daily so it dont build up again and do the deleted box as well daily.. so now im on my computer and i can tell a world of difference .. later i will empty my trash box out as well and hope that makes it even better.. so every little thing helps with my computer i have so much stiff on here espically since it is a shared computer .. i may defrag later as well

That's good, I'll also suggest that you download ccleaner, one of the best free computer utility that you can get. It will really help you clean your computer and as well fix some registry errors. Also, a reliable anti-virus and anti-malware software will really be beneficial. I registered on mylot using my secondary email account, that's the one that I used to register on other social networks as well, since they usually send you updates/notifications.

I know it's unkind to point out people's "typos", but I can't resist your "so much stiff on here". Oughtn't you to call in the crimes investigation unit? and someone to clean up - a load of stiffs around ain't exactly hygienic, innit? What was it? Lead poisoning?

I have a lot of digital scrapbooking supplies that I still have stored on the onboard hard drive on my computer that I really need to take some time unzipping and organizing onto my external hard drives. I know that on my computer this is the main reason that my computer is not running as fast as I would like for it to be running. If I am ever able to get to the point that I have all of this organized, I certainly don't ever want to let it back up like that again.

Hi Laken. Good job. Now when you go to defrag have it analyze it first to see if it needs to be defraged. It is wise to set it up so your computer will defrag and clean up all the stuff you deleted once a week. I got it set up to clean itself everytime I shut down my browser. I went into the recycling bin and put it so that when I delete files they don't go to the recycling bin. There are many sites on the net to teach you how to make your computer to run a lot faster. But beware if your not real knowledgeable about computers you can make it not run at all. The first thing I do everyday is set a restore point so that if I do something that messes up my computer I can always go back to that restore point. I do that with my mail everyday I can't stand a bunch of stuff just sitting around and taking up space.

Good for you. I have that problem with ,y email too but I do go and delete alot of stuff almost on a daily basis with one of them. I have to defrag and all that soon, maybe it will speed this thing up too. I always seem to put that off and I know I shouldn't. You can probably do more to your computer to make it go even faster. I have CCleaner too like above said and have used it and it works well.

Just install program called CCleaner and let it do all the work for you. If what you said speeded up your computer, this will do wonders.

Well dear, good for you. I wish I have the time to do the same as well. I need to do that same cleaning too but could not find time at all. I am always occupied. Maybe I'd schedule and a time for doing that for my own sake. Thank you for sharing.

That is great! there are other things you can do too. Like the event viewer, disk fragmenter and the cleanup, clean the temporary files and such. It really helps alot. I do it every fews nights before I close down.

Good that it works for you. It took a virus infection, my computer crashed, then a technician worked on it for a couple of days before everything is back and a lot quicker than before.

I need to do that with my multiple email accounts. I simple don;t have the time, and they just continue to add up.
