TRANSGENDER in Miss Universe

Philippines

hello! i am back with a new discussion. :) what's your opinion about transgender joining in miss universe? will you agree or disagree? why? please feel free to answer. :) i also need this for my argumentative report paper. in my own opinion, i DISAGREE. Miss universe is for real women only, even though transgender already looked like a woman they are still a man since birth. and if they'll win it is a big shame to all the women who joined the pageant because it is for MISS universe. i believe that the miss universe is so strict when it comes requirement, they don't even allow girls who are not natural and had gone through needles, how about more the transgender. i am not against them or anything, but i think transgender should be separated. they should be in a pageant wherein they are all equal and no bias.

I think you have a good point with pointing them separate. I think trans are beautiful in there own way and have their own pageant to show it off. However, while that is in the making, I don't think they should not like a trans join Miss Universe.

i agree with you. women and trans are so different to each other that at some point trans are much higher than women and vice versa. :)

I do not think transgender should be allowed too compete for the title of "Miss Universe" because I think it should be about natural beauty and what you are born with. Just like I don't think transgenders should compete in an "Iron Man" competition. These are gender specific competitions. I have nothing against the transgender or gay community what so ever but I feel these competitions are about what your born with not what you have sewn on or chopped off.

If a person fully changes their gender, they should have same rights, including the right to join miss competition. Having separate transgender competition would be insulting to them, it would be like saying there's a third gender category besides men and women. In case transgender person wins, it shouldn't been a shame to women because she is a woman.

if a transgender women will be allowed then would it also be mean that women who gone through surgery is also allowed? if that's the case, the true essence of the competition will be gone.

i am open to have transgender in the miss universe. it is about beauty, and not about being a biological woman. if miss universe is about the most beautiful woman, and there is a transgender that says she is the one, well let her win the crown in a competition. there is no clear advantage of transgenders in this contest. i don't know why people put opposition to it.

Thanks for sharing. This competition is for REAL women , not for those who look like woman, so how can transgender, sea male, lady boy can participate?

We think exactly the same way. I think that it is best to have a separate beauty pageant for all transgender than join the Ms. Universe which is supposed to be for "real" women. Nothing against transgenders, too. But I feel that equality should be put into perspective.

Yes, but of course. If they will join pageant, it should be for the battle of beauty and brain for the transgender only and girls only not mixed. Of course, it would be a big shame for us girls if transgender will beat us in a beauty contest knowing that they still a man.
