i was wondering what everyone thought about president obama. i feel that he is a great president. he made strides with gay rights, pulled out of iraq, made progress with immigration, the unemployment rate has gone down alot, stock market is doing much better, the auto and the housing market is coming back, he made the decision to kill osama bin ladin (spelling), and american exports are up. what do you guys think?

I don't think he is a bad president considering what he got to work with and for all the right wing people, I mean not only the policies from Bush that were enacted during his first term, the war, the failing economy, but the fact that the American people are idiots. I mean they do it all the time. They vote in the other party to congress and the house and then have the audacity to expect changes when voting in the opposite party from the president. Anyway, I think he is a bit idealistic and thinking more of the little guy unlike most politicians, but I agree with the previous posters. There are a lot of people here who do not like him. Some expected him to be a miracle worker and he couldn't be with that idiot congress we had. Some expected that they'd suddenly be rich and things wouldn't get harder. They expected the economy to suddenly go from really bad to rainbows and sunshine. And others are flat out racist and will tell you as such.

You obviously have no clue as to what is going on in this country. First off,he has made absolutely no progress with immigration. Unless you consider trying to make lawbreakers U.S. citizens progress. The only thing that most Americans will considered progress in this area is to have them all deported. Unemployment isn't down so much as people are giving up looking for work. Part-time and temporary jobs don't actually lower the unemployment rate. How can exports be up when there are no manufacturing jobs? They've all been shipped overseas. Obama reluctantly gave the order to kill Bin Laden. They knew where he was for quite some time but couldn't drag Obama off of the golf course to give the order. I don't see where the housing market is any better. I still see foreclosure signs everywhere. If Obama could get his way this country would be a communist country with him as the dictator.

Well, let's see. No Federal Budget since he has taken office. Over $10 Trillion added to the National debt. Let's look at the Middle East... Iraq is still a political mess. Afghanistan is even worse. Syria is even worse than that. Benghazi was a disaster. Left a spy plane in Iran. Egypt managed to swap one dictator for another. Oh, there's progress for you. Let's look at Gay Rights... Marriage is still a State issue (Right exactly where it should be.) No Federal Benefits for "partners." No change in the tax code for "partners." (Although with the current tax changes, this is actually a plus since married couples are about to lose one of their deductions.) No change in Military Benefits for "partners." Revoked Don't Ask, Don't Tell. (Which got rid of one of the penalty free "outs" for the military, which BTW was fully taken advantage of.) Didn't reinstate those who got kicked out of the military due to this clause. So, ummm exactly what did he do for Gay rights? Not much when really start digging into it. Let's look at Immigration... Prioritized Deporting the Criminally Prosecuted. Unfortunately, the illegal immigrants had to commit a violent crime. Why is he waiting for them to commit a crime against our own citizens? Apparently, identity theft doesn't count. Signed an EO to the effect of not deporting those who went to school. Except they and their families can still be deported and likely will. I do give him credit for record numbers of shipping illegal immigrants back to Mexico. Still major violence on the border. Still not working with the Mayors in AZ, Texas and Nevada in an effort to protect citizens. Still not willing to admit that illegal immigrants are here illegally and that they need to get out of the country and get their butts in line for citizenship. Unemployment Rate You may change your mind when it ticks up again. Which it will pretty soon especially when people start their taxes. (Don't worry, the tax season will keep tax preparers and the IRS in jobs.) Be prepared for inflation to go up. The Fed's money printing doesn't come without a cost to the country. He still hasn't addressed the real problem of spending cuts and the fact that benefits to programs will be cut. He hasn't addressed the increase in the number of people on food stamps. He hasn't addressed the growing number of people on SSDI which is what those on unemployment filed for when they lost their unemployment benefits. Health care hasn't even begin to be addressed and the costs are still coming in. Food prices/disposable good costs are still increasing. Stock Market The Stock Market has absolutely nothing to do with the President. Housing Market It is coming back slowly and could realistically drop again due to inflation and uptick in unemployment. The only good news/bad news is that banks are only writing loans to people with a high credit score and a good chance of paying it back. Everyone else is pretty much screwed out of the historically low interest rates. American Exports Still aren't anywhere near enough to compete with China. Sorry, to disappoint. Part of the reason why GDP isn't ticking up quite as fast. But don't worry, the National debt is catching up to it setting the stage for enforced rather than voluntary spending cuts. Savings Accounts/Retirement Accounts The interest rate on the guaranteed income earners is so low that it is almost better to spend money than to save it. This hurts future retirement funds thus increasing the dependence on Social Security and the need for more Government funding just for this program alone. Yep, history will quite clearly label him as the next Jimmy Carter.

Every time I read some post about how great he is I have no clue who they are talking about. It's like a mass hysteria thing!

My guess is that they like drinking the kool-aid or they like a President who lies to them 99% of the time. But lies often get higher ratings than the truth.

sounds good to me if you do better then we do in better in England.I like Obama he has a kind face.He actually looks like he cares. Most of the politicians are so false and smarmy.I just hope he sorts some kind of health service out for you it is such a wonderful thing to have.In England health care is free although we do pay for it in our taxes. Most people do not mind doing that as it helps everyone. To go to the hospital ill and told that you have not got the right insurance must be awful.Hope things go well for you.

I feel that every president we have had has had their own struggles to contend with in their preidency. It is no different for president Obama. He has had a lot of big issues to deal with and i feel that he is is doing everything in his power to nake the most of them. He has overcome so much and I believe he can continue to do great things.

Obama the great president Of US ! What always impresses me about him is his love to her family. He is a family oriented man . He loves Michelle very much despite being expose to many beautiful white ladies around. He is so proud of her wife and even in most especial occasion , he never forgot to give her recognition. One line i have read , that if you love your children , you take out your wife for a date . I have never seen a president who is so proud of her wife as of Obama. So what can we expect , Obama manages her family so good , then this just tells us that he is a very good man capable also of running best her country . God bless Obama and her family ! God bless America !

I think your right...he is a great president. He must be because he won another election. That should say something about him! He's done a lot of good things!

Yep B.O. is some kind of guy ain't he? Why he's so special people see him doing things he hasn't even done! What a guy! He's so special he threatens the elderly and disabled every time he wants to raise the debt limit. Now how special is that? Because, well how dare people be elderly or disabled! Is there a different obama in a different universe doing all this? Must be because I've haven't seen it!

I'm staying out of this one. He's not my president and I have enough issues with mine (I voted for him last election but I am not so sure if I am voting for his party mates for this coming mid-term election). but I have to say, pres. Obama has a good reputation on the international stage compered to the previous one.

I could honestly agree with you on that, though being frank here, I honestly wish that the media didn't have to put him on the news every day. It's understandable certain things should be on it, but the media needs to have their discretion on one's personal life.

No President is every perfect. Just like humans. Obama does and did what he is allowed to do there. I hope he can do even more this term.
