Do you miss any of your previous jobs?

My friend just got a job in a kindergarten when I listen to her stories from the kindergarten I miss the time when I also worked in a kindergarten. I was very happy there. I enjoyed spending time with the children and arranging activities for them, and the relationship between the co-workers was great. I miss that time I would like to work in a kindergarten again, and maybe I will look for a similar job in the future, but I haven't decided that yet. I would also like to work in a home for adults with special needs again, but I think that a kindergarten would be my first choice if I decide to look for a different type of job. Do you ever think about returning to the type of job that you had in the past? Which job would you like to return to and why?

A couple of years ago I had a job serving Sr. Citizens who live in a building across from me. I got to know them all very well and then a new kitchen crew came in and brought their own servers in. I really miss doing that in fact it's the only job I've ever had that I really enjoyed!

That sounds like an interesting job. It is sad that it ended when the new kitchen crew came. I have met many senior citizens during my work in home health care and I really enjoyed that work. I got to know many of them quite well and I enjoyed listening to their stories and their experiences from the past. I miss some of them today and the conversations that we had during the time that I worked there. I would love to work there again and I know that they are stille looking for new employees, but I live in a different part of the country now, so it is not possible for me to return to that place.

Senior Citizens can be a lot of fun, many people think that they are grumpy and all they do is complain about their aches and pains. Not so. Sometimes, Sr. Citizens have a lot of wisdom and a lot of humor.

I miss working at the city administrator's office. It's a government job so we get to interact with different kinds of people, from the most humble origins to the big company owners wanting to do or put up some new business in the city. It's a nice feeling to be able to help them in their needs, no matter how vastly different they may be. It is also such a challenge to check and see if some people try to put their hands in government funds for their personal gain.

The job in the city administrator's office sounds interesting. I like the idea of interacting with a lot of different people. I think that it is interesting to meet to people from a lot of different backgrounds. That was one of the things that I really liked about my job in the home health care team. Every day was different and I met different people every day because the group of clients that we visited was very large. When I went to work in the morning I never knew who I was going to meet that day and I think that was one of the things that made the work exciting. Sometimes I visited people in small aparments in bad neighbourhoods and sometimes I visited people who lived in luxurious houses close to the lakes. I liked meeting and helping all of them.

Good day Porcospino, What a timely question. Well, I am really missing it. Hence, if a Fairy will appear in-front of me right now, I will ask and request her if she can bring me back to the last place and job where I was. And if that thing happen, I would definitely go back and would not go here to where I am now. But, I guess, Fairy's are not meant to born, that is why I am lifting everything through prayers. I just wish that God will grant the job that I am longing for. A job that can help me to finance my mom's dream vacation.

I sometimes wish that I had that kind of fairy who would help me fullfil my dreams, that would be fantastic but I doubt that I am ever going to meet one. Prayers are a better option I think. I hope that you will find a great job in the near future. You mentioned that a job would help you to finance your mom's dream vacation. Which place does she want to visit?

Working in a kindergarten is the most fun job than any job out there. I work in a kindergarten as a teacher from 2005 to 2009. Then, I resigned and gone into business. After that, I look for other job and applied some jobs other than working in a kindergarten. Within the 2 years of no job aside from business, somehow I got this feeling that told me that I should go back to the same kindergarten that I resigned. So, here I am, back to the same kindergarten as a teacher from 2012. I return to the same kindergarten because I miss the environment there and still got the feeling of like to work with children.

I agree with that I think that it is a lot of fun to work in a kindergarten and I really enjoyed my old job. I miss the job and I miss working with children. It is great to hear that you managed to return to the same kindergarten. I would love to do the same thing as you. If I could I would look for a job in my old kindergarten again, but that is not realistic because I live in a different part of the country now. But there are also kindergartens on the island where I live today and I am thinking about applying at one of those places. When I listen to my friend who just started working in a kindergarten I realize how much I miss that kind of work.

That sounds like an interesting job. I didn't get the chance to visit other provinces during my time in home health care, but I really liked visiting the different patients who lived in my area. I sometimes miss that job because it gave me the chance to visit a lot of different people and I found that very interesting and challenging.

I have not have any professional jobs yet because I still go to school but I have had 3 jobs including with working with my dad currently. I had worked with my cousin in a lemonade stand company (in stadiums and similar places. Don't think it was just a stand outside our front door or outside a marketplace, lol) with my brother as well. My cousin was the manager so he got us both the job and would contact my brother and me for the event they will be in business but he past away so we didn't know where the new manager would put the lemonade stand at. So, I got a job working with my dad's best man in his wedding's business as a customer representative and also got a long with people there since they were practically family (his best man in his wedding is my mom's sister's husband's nephew) as well but then their lease was expired and had to closed down and move their business someplace else, which was far from me. Now I work with my dad. If I got a chance to work for either my cousin's business (assuming he was still around) and my dad's best man's business, I would chose my cousin's business because I would get a long with the people in the stand working there with me. Since my brother was the one going up and down the stadium with the rack of lemonade, I would hang with the other people working in the stand. After, we would hang a little with everyone including my brother and cousin after shift was over.

The lemonade stand sounds like a nice place to work. It is great to work at a place we where get along with the other people and where we enjoy the time that we spend together during work or after work. One of my first jobs was also a job where my brother and I worked together. That was a long time ago and today we don't live in the same part of the country anymore, but we both enjoyed the time when we worked together.

I have always been doing the same job, teaching, but I have changed my working place from one province to another or from one school to another. I miss my previous school and my colleagues although the salary there was not as high. I love my present school better for its better location environment and salary though it is not as stable as the prvious one. If I should leave here, I will also miss it. So wherever I work, I will always miss the previous one, which has left a deep impression on me. Thank you for the discussion. Take care.

At the moment,no. I love writing but it often takes a toll on me but while doing it and dealing with the aftermath. I'm pretty much very good at what I do now. My boss offers to give me some bit of writing but at least, it wont be as near as the volume that I have to deal before. As much as I love writing, there are some pressures attache dot the job that one must live through.

I had one amazing job that I miss more than anything but they closed down due to slow business. =( I worked as a secretary at a propane company. I absolutely loved working there! I loved dealing with people and I really liked the family atmosphere that they had there. They were all parents so if an emergency came up with my kids it was no problem at all for me to go. They were the best company I have ever worked for. It was a small company so we all mattered to each other and it was nice. If I could go back there I would. Too bad, I can't since they shut down... But I definitely enjoyed working there! =) If I could find another small family oriented company like that, I would get a job there! So far I have not been so lucky to find one. That was like one in a million.

That sounds like really great place. It is very sad that they closed down. I hope that you can find anoother great place in future, but does not sound like an easy talk to find that kind of company again. I also liked the atmosphere in the kindergarten where I worked, it was a small place and my co-workers and I enjoyed working together. I liked the work a lot since I like working with children. I am actually a little jealous at my friend because she works in a kindergarten now and I am thinking about applying in some of the kindergartens on my island. It might not be possible to find a place like the place where I worked in the past, but I am still interested in that kind of work. I would have applied at my "old" kindergarten if I could, but I live in a different part of the country now.

I quite enjoyed the 2 jobs I've had, but honestly, none of them were soooo amazing that I miss them. One was a media observer job when I had to write down TV and radio news, and one was as a counter salesperson at a mall, selling oriental scarves, jewelry, pillow covers, blankets, purses etc. I'm not sure if I enjoyed them that much more if I had better bosses...

I think that a good boss makes a lot of difference. I had one job in a home for people with special needs and I loved the work as such. I found it interesting and also quite challenging since I had to learn a lot of new things. I enjoyed the interaction with the residents and I also had some nice co-workers, but the boss was a big problem. She was very unfriendly and unreliable and it was not easy work under her. She travelled a lot and must admit that the best periods were the periods where she was away.

My favourite job was my last one. Up until then I had mostly been employed in office work which was something that paid well enough but not something that I really enjoyed. After many years I heard about teaching English to students, I took the course and eventually found myself in a classroom with an assortment of students of varying ages. It was difficult at first but the students were wonderful and I enjoyed the challenge. I stayed with that job until I retired. It was the best job I had ever had, I learned a great deal about young people and their ambitions and determination to succeed. I learned about myself too and a great deal more about English grammar.

I think that it was a great idea to try something different and it sounds like you really enjoyed that job and learned a lot from it. I think that teaching is an interesting and challening job. I am a volunteer language teacher for a family from Myanmar who lives in my country. I enjoy that a lot. I used to think that knew the Danish grammar really well but sometimes when my students ask me questions about the correct forms of the words I discover that I don't know the answer and I have to look it up. That way I also learn something new

I once worked as an assistant for a Gastro doctor. I loved it ! I enjoyed dealing with the patients and most of all I enjoyed the class of people I worked with. The office was very professional and everyone worked as a team. The postion was only temp so once the original assistant returned I had to go =( I now work at a lab that is full of rude and unprofessional poeple and no one knows what team work means. Everyone is for self only, however, I'm grateful to have a job in this economy.

I also miss teaching. My first work was a programming class teacher for 1st year college students. I miss the fun, and the stress too. I miss trying to explain things while making the students interested what I was talking about. I also miss the times when I get really irritated and frustrated when the class becomes so noisy and rowdy. Someday I would really like to go back to teaching college students. I work as a programmer now and it is getting monotonous and repetitive that it bores me and I feel stuck a bit. All I know is that I don't want to be stuck to this job. I want something that is interesting and unpredictable at times.

Well, I have worked with rescue for about 13 years. I can still recall the many times that I have responded to emergencies and it was indeed great, exciting and thrilling. I do miss my job before but just missing yet there is no longer the want to go back to the same job. I guess I have had enough and it is time to spend my life for myself and my family. When I worked with rescue, life was rescue, you neve had much time for yourself as you spend much of the time helping others. Now that I am getting old, perhaps its good enough time to spend it for my family. I never had any regrets however working there for quite a time but I am very much happy an fulfilled in what I am right now.

I have always been on construction I rose from being a helper to the rank of construction foreman. I missed the days when I was young and strong climbing up the roof and overlooking my workers. Now, I can barely scale to the second floor or just to look up. That made me quit my job.

Nope I don't miss any of my previous job because I did not change my job. I mean I changed the company but not the type of job. I still do the same. I miss the comfort of the previous company was providing the employee, but I don't miss the administrators running it. I like where I am now even there is a little discomfort nevertheless, the quality of the people running it is very much comforting than the people I worked with.

The first day care I worked in, I really enjoyed. It was a lot of work but I really loved taking care of the young children. I looked after 1 year olds and enjoyed watching them learn how to walk and become independent. The day care director was awesome, she was very concerned about the children - their well being and their education. She was kind, witty and her number one concern was always the children. Then, I had kids and became a home school mom. After, my youngest graduated, I decided to go back to the young children and found a job at a day care. The day care director was focused on the business and not the children. Her parents owned the day care and they would buy day care businesses which were kind of run down, they would build them up and re-sell them. So, when they came to visit our day care, they didn't even show an interest in the children. Just looked around the rooms to see what equipment or supplies were needed to make it look good in order to try to sell the day care business. It was horrible because the children were not properly cared for. I do miss working in a day care but only a day care where the number one concern is for the children.
