Since we cannot buy 1 sachet of coffee at Puregold below our office, I decided that I make it a business. I bought 12 pieces each of different brands & variants of 3 in 1 coffees and put a mark up of at least 1.50 pesos each sachet and sells them at the office. I have Nescafe variants, Good Day Variants and the Super Coffee. They have different choices. This cold season, my office mates kept buying from me. I also bought Skyflakes crackers to sell too. So , during break times, they would buy coffees from me. At least, when I sold 20 pieces in a day I would have a profit of 30 pesos. Not bad right, friends? At least it will pay for my snack.

What a great way of doing business. Even if you're getting a small amount each day, but it's still an income, right? It's a good start.

Jlyn, yes it's still an income, because i have a profit each day of PhP30.00. At least i don't have to get money from my allowance anymore. The past days, i have been going to the city's business center, to renew the business permits of our office and 2 of our business ventures. You see, the deadline for filing and paying them was 22. But i am glad, it's done already, thus i was able to post some discussions now. So, what variant do your like for your coffee sids? Do you like the minty flavor?

I jumped on to this discussion expecting my evening mug of ICED Coffee being served here but it seems I need to find and tender the right change Never mind, it is good thing that you are doing (can I add - as long as I get my Mugs for free)

A few days more and the winters would be gone and that hot sun would get me melted anyways So I am trying to store some more of that ICE to last a little longer

So sids, what were you exactly thinking when you saw the title of this discussion? Talk about coffee? well, i have tasted lots of coffee actually, because i taste any new coffee variant that there is in the supermarket. Iced coffee, i like that also. The cappuccino type, it's good when with ice, sids. Exactly, hereandthere, it's the reason why the snowman doesn't melt. He drinks iced coffee.

Nice and practical idea. You could add more products in line with coffee and earn more. When I was still working I used to bake macaroons and brownies and bring it to the office. I'm not the one selling but an office mate who is in charge of the security for the whole building. He got it from me at wholesale and sold them to employees within the building and paid me on paydays. I also sold watches and jewelry which I got by consignment but was very selective whom to give least I may have collection problems. My income from these was a great help then being a single parent of 3 kids.

He was a good salesman and a strict collector too for I don't have time going after so many people every payday to collect payment. On costly items I sell them myself but on a limited basis for you are right this is more risky and as you said there are some who's good at playing hide and seek come payment time. I was just lucky for payroll is under our department and the payroll master is a very close friend hence if someone was playing hard to collect, I could easily go after him

Really? But actually, we have no right to do that because our business is personal and not connected with the company.

Wow, really! You are so lucky that you got somebody who gets from you on a wholesale basis. At least, you will not tire yourself, selling them yourself. I also used to sell other things also, like bracelets and RTWs. The bracelets are okay because they are just of minimal amount. But the RTWs, they are a bit of big amount so some who bought from me, would play hide and seek when collection time comes. So, i would really ask for their payment and there will be no next time for them. Now, i don't sell those anymore, because it's hard to collect payments. With the coffee, they pay me outright.

what a great idea why not level them up, Ive seen some small coffee vending machine that cost 5 pesos only, you can put it in your office and let them earn for you, but of course you need to maintain it like putting the gallon of water and pay for excess electricity.

Actually , we don't allow a coffee vending machine at the mall that our compasny owns and manages because it will be in competition to our company's franchised coffee shop. But since ordinary employees cannot afford to be buying expensive coffee concoctions, they go for the instant coffee sachets. Then they just get hot water from the water dispenser at the office. So that's why i just sell the coffee sachets. Just a no sweat small time side income.

we had a nescafe vending machine where i used to work, but i think it has to be cleaned/serviced periodically because if not, you get free ants in your coffee.

With that small profit, i will never get rich , Mavic. I spend whatever profit i have on snacks. At least it saves a part of my allowance, so i can buy other things for myself.

You started your coffee business or still thinking to open your coffee business? It is a good idea to start such business if you get permission for it, in our place all office charge a good amount for starting any business, and to help these business, many office goers have no right to bring even tiffin with them.

Actually, this has been going on since i was transferred by my boss to this another affiliate she handles. It's not forbidden in our office, as long as you do your business only on break times. My office mates were also telling me to sell junk foods. But where am i gonna store them?

You have good place in your office, and it would be a good idea to start with something to eat as well, just a storing problem or believe it you will soon be having a good business to pay all bills

I think that's all where all businesses come from. Just identifying a need in the market, and then cornering that need in terms of supply. Clearly, you've identified this need in your workplace and your just jumping at it. It's great that you can make a small profit out of it without exerting too much effort!

That's not bad at all, for as long as the office is okay with you selling. I think that you could really make a few bucks if you sell other stuff, too. I have a friend that makes crinkles and lets her brother sell it for her in his office. My friend earns 800 a week! Why not sell other food to your officemates?

It's actually not forbidden in our office as long as it's done during breaks. My problem with other food is where i am gonna store them. Anyway, i just would like to have some little profit effortless.

wow! That is a really good idea!! Are you kidding me? It's not bad at all. You save the precious time of your office mates to go downstairs to buy coffee, and you also earn something out of it! :) I'll try that here in my office. Hahaha! Have a great day ahead, my friend.

Yeah, and it's a good thing that my boss didn't allow the cheap coffee vending machine which costs only PhP5.00 per small cup , to put up at the mall of our company. That's because it will be competing with the posh coffee shop that one of our affiliate has. Yes, try it in your office too.

Oh at least you have extra income now and your colleagues enjoys the coffee as well . One of our colleague also do the same thing here, she sells 3-in-1 coffee here so that we will not go down in the Mini Stop to buy one which is quite higher in price.

Yes, those convenience stores sells them in a higher price. Besides, they don't have to go out of the office just to buy one and be back at the office for the hot water at the water dispenser. Besides, they can choose whatever flavor they would like to have, moccasino, mint, strong, white , cappucino or regular? I just don't accept credit though .

Our boss is not in our office. Her office is at the 3rd floor while we're on the 2nd floor. I am in -charge of the office, but i don't sell anytime . It should be during break time. Though, our boss will not prevent us, because it's one way of helping people buy in a jiffy, their chosen variants of coffee.

Quite creative, and wishing you continued success with this as well. I have thought from time to time about doing something like buying snacks and candy and selling them, but not sure others would really buy anything. But would offer a better variety than what is being sold in our vending machines for less for sure.

We do have some of these on your office as well, Our accounting department stores coffee, biscuits, junkfoods, candies. It's more like a mini store especially in the office since everyone need to eat or drink something to release the stress..

I also plan to have those also, but i don't have a place to store them. In our other affiliates, the HRD Dept. has a mini store also. They even have hotdog sandwich. So when, the supplier of our food, doesn't come around the office for her lunch and snacks, i go upstairs at our affiliate's office to buy sandwich. It's a nice business also.

i like different variants also, so it's hard for me to buy one box. i tend to buy 2 sachets of 3 brands. sometimes, i use two different brands in one big mug when i lack sleep the night before due to overtime. i wish there would be an assorted coffee flavors in one box, just like they have assorted cupcakes or mamon in one big pack. years ago,i had an officemate who would repack coffee, cream and sugar in small plastic bags so people will buy only what they like, ex. coffee and sugar only. i'm glad we have so many varieties now.

With the different brands and variants that there is in supermarkets, i buy 6 for each. And i would promote other variants they haven't tried. Your office mate is so enterprising and patient. Imagine repacking them, that's tedious. Why don't she just buy different variants?
