Why do you think Starbucks sell in the Philippines?

In an article I've read, Starbucks became popular to Filipino consumers because most of them are brand loyal. Aside from that, the company also points out that they became a hit because of the quality of the environment and workers that they provide to their customers. :)

Most of the Starbucks they have a good ambiance place. Beside, the service also is good compare to other coffee shops. The brand is well known not only in the Philippines but worldwide. Who are hesitate to enter their shops if they are very know to elite people all over the world? Of course, people will love to visit their place even those who are trying hard to be a rich individual

I believe that the article is right. Starbucks has a really nice service. I've been there many times, and almost all the branches have efficient and friendly staff, consistent with product quality, clean store, customer service oriented people. Though the products are expensive, I must say that you pay for their quality.

Why do Starbucks sell in the Philippines? Well to me it does not sell. I don't even drink coffee and can't enjoy other drinks and pastries there because they are unreasonably priced. I am a very practical person. I do go and enjoy any expensive restaurants though for as long as I find the food, the services and the ambiance are worth my money. But with Starbucks, I feel like wasting my money coz there is nothing very special with the taste. But many people do now share my views because Starbucks do sell here. Here are some of the reasons: First, It is because there is prestige associated with anything expensive and that is Starbucks. So those who are really elite would enjoy their status fully well if they chose expensive place like this. Those who are not elite but want to feel and look like elite would shell out big amount for a cup of coffee if only to enjoy the life of an elite even for just a night. Also, many Filipino folks are coffee drinkers and coffee drinkers are mostly the type of people who want to sit around and enjoy the cup the longer they could. They don't seen to get the most out of their coffee if they just drink the coffee instantly and then go. So to enjoy their cup of coffee in many possible ways they choose a place like Starbucks. Because of this many people whether can afford much or can not afford a little find Starbucks, a cold dimly lighted place as the best place to enjoy not just coffee but fellowship along with coziness and prestige. Another reasons perhaps is because Starbucks allow customers to overstay and even play some board games. So many people who love to standby and enjoy some fellowship even those who don't really have that much money love to go to Starbucks. But why Starbucks when there are other Coffee Stores that offer the same amenity? Well the first always gets the most benefit and Starbucks is the first that gain popularity among expensive coffee vendors so even if others follow through...they simply won't be able to duplicate the success.

I think that starbucks offers new and tasty products and so it is still thriving here in the country. For me, i am not able to afford regularly and so I go to the store about twice a year only but when I get a sip of their coffee I am so happy

It’s because Starbucks is an international coffee chain, wherein it has been popular over the world most especially that celebrities are buying coffee over such café’s it somehow makes some people curious about it that they want to try it out also. Not to mention the great blend that they make on different types of coffee brew. They also serve different treats such as little pastries which is a great combination over coffee.

Many famous branded will open their store in big city, not in small city and as long as they have local partner to open it. They will use profit sharing the most with local partner or buy the license to open it, it depends on on your country. If the local partner is big company i believe they will buy the license, special license, so in your country only that company that can open store in the country. Like starbucks in my country, the licensed hold by one big company so who can open the starbucks store only by this company.

I love Starbucks... my favorite drink there is Coffee Jelly... whenever i have the time and the budget... i don't fail to buy myself a Venti Coffee Jelly... there was even a time when i was still working that i buy a cup of coffee and take it to work every morning... I think it is not just the taste or the brand loyal attitude... but because of the overall feel when one is inside the store... the baristas are really trained to make customers feel welcome and they even remember names and favorite drinks of customers...

Quality and environment? I don't care for Starbucks. We have a Maxi Java here that I enjoy. Starbucks doesn't taste good to me at all.

I like coffee bean compared to Starbucks.... With regards to the topic. I think the reason why Starbucks is more popular than other coffee shops is because first, the do have more stores compared to others; second, i think they are the first to franchise here in the Philippines.

we are a 3rd world country but we are not that poor, our middle class and upper class have millions of populations, not a majority but enough to feed an economy. People go to starbucks for 2 reasons, to show their social standing, they just happen to love the menu. I still dont go there though, My office provides free coffee and I am a bit of a thrifty cheapstake.

I myself like others can brew coffee that tastes just as fine as Starbucks, so, cheaper and as many cups as you wish. One reason is a pride when friends see you at Starbucks because we Filipinos have a mentality of going for the name just as preferring an imported brand than a local one.

Well, that's good. Many people like coffee because it keeps them awake and active. But I think starbucks is overrated. Just look at the prices.

Oh i think starbucks was and still is a hit because it became a status symbol. everyone was like oh you seemed so cool when you have got a cup of the starbucks in your hand while walking on your way to your work and so on. :D haha I think too that we Filipinos are a sucker for coffee, and their frappucino is really not to be missed! its quite good if you ask me.

I guess it's because of the kind of service Starbucks provide. It was the first in the Philippines and people immediately embraced the ambiance. Plus it became a sort of status symbol for people who likes to flaunt what they have. Some people even keep empty Starbucks containers just to show off.

I think they were the first one to offer this product and the product they were selling were of good and new to the taste of many Filipinos back then. I think that easily lured many Pinoys to this kind of coffee and they were the first one to introduce cold coffee which was new to many of us here.

I think since Starbucks was the original in selling coffees with a twist, it became the hit. Though i must say that aside from Starbucks, coffee shops really sells because there are a lot of coffee lovers. Here in our province, we have no Starbucks yet. Though, some local coffee shops really sells.
