They have a recall on the cheap food, which is made by Purina. My parents always buy Friskies wet food, if I want to switch to other food, I would have to buy it just likle the dry food which they whine about all the time and I end up buying it.
They buy Friskies, and I try to feed my cats good food, and they will get up earlier just so they can feed my cats. They feed the devil cat as I call him 4 tins a day, yes I pay for this stupid cat to eat 4 tins, meanwhile the rest get a sliver of a can - I usually split it between 3 (my three).
They have a recall they can't pin point to certain brands or lines, so many animals are dying from eating tanted crap.
I said this, and here my sister walks in with 2 caases of Friskies, I sat there and asked her which company makes it, and show her the report. She just ignores me, and says it wont happen.
I even told my Mom and she flipped out for 10 minutes, then shrugged it off.
I will not be killing my animals like they are, I've had enough of this. My sister for once bought treats, she brings home whiskas treats, and says mom already told me not to buy purina because you would throw them out.
I try to explain to them what they are feeding them, I don't want my animals to eat that crap. The companies I buy from are Canadian companies for one, and very reputable, I have contacted them, and they even offered a tour of the plant.

What's that one you peel off? It's not in a can but in a plastic one serving and you just oral the plastic lid. Is that whiskas? There was a gourmet dog food I used to get my Ivan. I couldnt afforf to buy it all the time. It was one meal and nearly a dollar each. He also liked a soft dry food like Kibbles and Bits but it was another name. There is also a refrigerated kind you can buy that isn't supposed to have any preservatives. I never tried that though. It's not cost effective. The amount you get for the price. I couldn't afford to buy it. I can't spend a hundred dollars on dog food. Our dogs do like what we get them. Too bad they don't have food stamps for dog food.

It all comes back to the ingredients, and well down to the animals health. I read an article most cheapier grocery store brands the dogs, and caats have a smaller life span. You an see the difference between my cats and my parents, their cats are severely overweight, old looking, and well no energy. Miine are slimmer, full of energy, and look liek kittens (my sisters cat is the same age as mine yet looks 5 years older).
I budget in all their food, and this is a middle class cat food. I jsut spent $150 in dry food, but again noone pays me their share because they have stupid lame excuse. When I move out I wont know what to do, seeing as I am currently budgetting for what I buy and right nwo I support 10 cats meanwhile I have 3.
I don't want the guilt that I slowly killed my animals, yet they obviously don't care, and they say this all the time, my sister said it today for that fact.
She carried on how much I spend on my animals, and she would still feed Friskies to her animals, but again she doesn't take her cat to the vet, doesn't feed it half the time (without me and my mom it would starve), she never gives it attention.

It amazes me that they are so stubborn. I would not get up early to spite someone. I feed a dry Purina food, but I make my own wet food. I notices that my cats got livelier when I started making my home made food.

Purina is the company that is having all the issues right now, which is why I refuse to feed them, it is also very unhealthy. I wont feed my animals it, but I don't care if others, I told my parents this, but that means they would actually have to give me money for the dry food (seeing as they subtract the wet food, and litter), so they are sppose to owe me about 20$ a month supposeable. Otherwise they would owe me about 3x that. It's all because they don't have the money, and my brother keeps putting them in the hole even more so they are trying to screw everyone else over. I figured out the math, and she is screwing us out of more money, and whenever I bring it up she screams her head off, and says its my house deal with it.

Thanks. I haven't heard of any of them. I'll have to look them up.

I buy Now dry cat food which is made in Canada (believe it was Elmira, or Elora something like thaat), I contact the company regular, amasing.
Wet food I current use Weruva, which is very nice, and you can actually know what in it, like our stew, gravy, meat, and veggies - actually smells amasing - not something I should share with others - have yet to eat it.
I have been trying to switch them to First Mate which is a Canadian company - I believe somewhere outside of Collingwood if I am not mistaken or was it BC.
But as they say if you wont eat it, why give it to your aniimals. I do try their food, and which is why I switched their last food. I ate the dry food, and boy was it salty, so I switched it, and this one tastes 100% better. I notice a big different in their behaviour, and how they eat.

my cats usually eat companion or 9 lives.
the thing i've noticed tho is even the more expensive brands aren't necessarily
trustable either.
i can think of two of the larger brands off the top of my head that had recalls for contamination.

You are going to have to find a way to feed your animals away from their animals. I'd say put the food in your room and have your cats go there to eat, but then what if there is left over food and Marcus helps himself?
I do not know what your parents and sister are thinking, just shrugging off the recall.

They don't see the big picture or care for their animals. I told my sister today, adn she goes I will never spend that much for cat food, yet she has been spending so much at the vet's. her cat is severely over weight and she could care a less.
My Mom was looking it up today, and making comments, but she wont change their food.
I told them either change the food or else I will feed mine seperately, which means my Mother would actually have to buy food. I just spend $150 in dry food, and whenever I bring it up she goes I didn't want to feed that food to them.
I've just had enough of them, and their crap. I don't want to know I slowly killed my animals, and something I could prevent you can see the difference between my cats and their cats just by the food they eat.
