I gave 5 peso coin to a beggar

It's not my habit to give money to poor children or beggars on the street because I don't know. Sometimes I am shock because they are so dirty and they will "kulet" or persist that you give them some money. I also don't pay attention to those who ride on a vehicle and hand some envelopes and then make some speech. I remember the biggest amount I gave to them is around 1 to 2 pesos. However last time I got my salary, I promise to share so I hand a 5 peso coin to a girl, a beggar and she seems satisfied. I never give that amount and I said I plan to give up to 10 peso coin in the future because they really look in need. Then just after a few days we get another paycheck which usually took 3 weeks to be release. I thank the Lord I had more than enough income this month. I wonder I will give more for charity.

I have stopped giving alms to those kids. I don't feel right about it. So instead of giving them coins which they might just use in buying the addicting adhesive, I usually give them food.

I also think it is good to provide them food and clothes. I think food is the most important thing that poor people needs.

In my wildest dreams of being rich, believe it or not, but I have thought of giving some of my money to help house these street children. I do not think that the government is doing so much for them. Coz if they do have a very good program, we won't be seeing these kids in the street begging.

I don't feel right about it too, in fact when I returned to the jeep terminal they increase in number and now I see around 4 kids pestering all the people. I actually choose them, if they look naughty kids I won't give them any coins but there are some who really looks very weak and hungry.

Let me share a story about this. In our provincial office, there was once a beggar who will hand a note to use asking for some amount. Stated in the note that he is deaf mute. Okay, so my office mates gave him some amount. So I forgot about it. I see the same person in the regional office doing the same act. Now, I went to other province as part of our training and we have to report on their provincial office. What a...I've seen the same person and he can hear and talk. Lesson for me: It is okay to help as long as the person we are helping deserves it. I rather help a poor student with his/her study rather than giving an amount to those who are begging alms and they are doing it already as their source of income. Have a nice day!

Hi gara! Well, I think you have a point there. Perhaps I have to reconsider my thought about this matter. Above all, it's our own motive that counts. Yes, thank you for the wonderful explanation. Have a nice day!

well, I prepare to help them because whatever you measure your people God will also measure you . God teach us to help the needy . And of course they ask for money because it is the source of income.Whatever they do. it's unto them.As long as we have a good heart. I too think of that before. same thing but when I walk during night I saw some people living with their little children in the street and some get food from the garbage. It makes me change my mind. It's not because the other one is lying the rest are all too.We must thank God instead that we are not in their situationand we can provide our own needs. So instead of judging them but help them as what we can. for God pleases us.

It takes a great heart to give poor people food and money. Not all people do this. I think it is good to help the needy and God helps us when we help others. I think one can give food, old clothes, and other things that one does not need to poor. I think if all people helps the needy and poor people all will feel happy in this beautiful world. I think there will be happiness in poor people and also the people who help others.

I believe there is some kind of magic when we help these types of people. If you ease their burden even for a while. I wonder why some can enjoy all their excess blessings without looking for those who are lacking in many ways, there will be no beggars around I guess.

Very admirable for you to share some money with them since I think it is just right that you do this every now and then and I guess it will return back to you in some other forms of grace from our creator. I learned that in the Law of attraction that once you learn to let go of things to help others it will return back to you ten folds in some other forms of grace from the universe. It may not be monetary but maybe some other blessings in life which might be important to you.

Isn't it great? I guess we need to give to those who are really in great need. I just give 5 pesos and after a few days I received 5000 pesos that's ten fold or hundred fold or thousand fold.

It's not a bad thing to give some help to the needy but people these days will take advantage of your goodness.I remember it is not allowed on my place to ask for alms in any place here in my province and what we do is we ask them to go to the nearby barangay office to ask for help. The reason for this is that some were members of bad syndicates who are using them to ask for alms on the street and I feel for them really.

I think there are lots of rich people and if they help to decrease the level of poverty then everyone will have enough food.

I do give money to beggars before but I've stopped doing that. I've realized that if I really wanted to help and the money I give will be use for good then I should give to charitable institutions or to charity foundations. When I was in college there was this beggar, an old man who is always sitting near the terminal (jeepney and van). I see him everyday before going to school, because that's where I take the van. He is around sixty years old that time, he can't walk, thin and dirty. Me and friends wonder how he gets there everyday? Then one time we saw a younger man maybe in his mid twenties, he is the one who brings the old man there to beg and that younger man just wait there until the old man has enough money or when it gets late. He just stay there far from the beggar, smoke and wait. He wears clean clothes, healthy and his body is well built. We've learned that he is the old man's son, unemployed. He should be the one working. I really pity the old man but giving him money means tolerating his lazy son.

it's very good that you give to charity. giving to charity doesn't only meaning giving your money to an organization. you are giving to people who really need it. i also give to the poor and homeless, but i try also not to be taken advantage of.

I have to admit that I am the kind of person that will give to people that are begging for money when it is something that I am able to do. I do realize that there might be times that these people are not using that little bit of money for a legitimate purpose, but I've always been a really giving person. The main reason that I choose to help people that seem to be less fortunate is because of the fact that I hope there would be someone that would be willing to help my family and myself if we were to find ourselves in a similar situation.

I am wondering how many US dollars can be changed with 5 peso?I am sorry I do not familiar with your currency. And as for your case, you are really a good person because as for me I seldom give my money to beggars, what a shame. But I think who help the beggars the most is government and other charity. What we can do is very limited.

Because your christian and you know it is one of God's commandment to us to practice generosity to our people.Give and you will be given.Look at our good example is MANNY pacman Pacquiao. He is helping so many people, donating money without questioning whom they help. but you see his Life. God is returning back the blessings he made to our fellow people. more than that and now He is one of the wealthiest man in our country.Everything has it's own reason. Give and you shall be given.because whatever we do to our people as what God have said we also done to Him. Love one another that's His commandment too.Everything we have comes from God.

sharing means more blessings... so keep on sharing.. but choose whom you will lend some money because sometimes behind a beggar is a syndicate.. they use children and old people some even use disable person to asked money.. anyways you can give donations to charities if you really wanna share your blessings.. from there you can rest assured that your money you will give will be in good hands...

I don't give alms, i give them my old elementary textbooks. Most people i know just burn those books when they don't need it anymore. As they say, you don't give a beggar fish, you teach them how to fish.

Its nice to know that you have started being charitable. Not a lot of people are ready to do that. Keep up the good work and lets hope that we all can make some change by our contributions
