..when in actual fact I was being very, very silly.
Today I wanted to make my own sausage rolls using shop-bought puff pastry and sausage meat.
I had already got the ingredients out the freezer yesterday i.e. the puff pastry and the sausages and placed them in the fridge, therefore, by the time I got to prepare the sausage rolls, everything would be de-frosted.
There I was armed with my self raising flour, ready to roll out the puff pastry. I'd taken the wrapper off without thinking about it. As I started rolling I noticed that the texture of the pastry wasn't quite right and was cracking in places.
Hmmm! What could that be?
Then it dawned on me.
I looked at the wrapper in the bin and, sure enough, it was the SHORTCRUST PASTRY, not the puff.
Fortunately, I'd realised before preparing the sausage rolls and putting them in the oven! Can you imagine what they'd be like?
Rock hard probably!
The thing is, I've now put the shortcrust pastry BACK in the freezer. Will it be OK bearing in mind I've already de-frosted it once already?

I did defrost it in the fridge.
I'm no defrosting it again and shall use it up for two meat pies tomorrow. If we get food poisoning so-be-it although I doubt we shall.
However, if I go all quiet next week you will know why!

That is to say,So much for your idea of making your own sausage rolls at that point.I guess You are surely able to use the shortcrust pastry to make something creative that makes John eat his head off,I know you are a good hand at cooking .

"Eat his head off" lol. That's one way of putting it!
Tomorrow I shall use up the shortcrust pastry and make two meat pies. One for Saturday/midweek and the other for next weekend when Mum's here.

um..i would say most likely?
but you might want to towel it just a wee so condensation doesn't make hard spots.

Most things don't do well if they are defrosted and then re-frozen, especially a bread product like that. It it has not been in there long I would probably pull it out and use it for something. It may be OK if it gets refrozen but chances are it won't.

My Mum more or less said the same thing. Unfortunately, it's now in the freezer and will have actually re-frozen by now.
I'm worried about food poisoning more than anything but I really don't know what to do for the best.
