On my way home this afternoon, I rode beside the driver, which I don't do often.
I like the comfort of being able to see a lot of the road but I find myself staring at the side mirror all the time. I cant help it. I dont consider myself as a conceited person but whenever a mirror is in front of me, I cant help but stare at my self and try to look nice.
Am I weird?

But that is how you should be. I too stare at myself and try to decide, if I am looking okay at least
and most of the times, I feel unhappy seeing me who is such a skeleton and sickly today

No. A lot of people are like this. Maybe you just want to look your best and there just happens to be a mirror there and you just happen to see "Oh there is a hair out of place". and try to fix it. Its human.

in jeepneys i don't sit next to the driver because i'm always puzzled about how to get off. i'm stupid and clumsy.
but if it's an fx, i like sitting next to the driver because the seat has a headrest.
oh i think it's a national habit. i remember looking at microwable rice dishes in a convenience store and the guard was standing next to me, touching and scrutinizing his face as reflected on the shiny metal. same is true in elevators and any door or glass window with a one-way reflection that faces the street. if you're inside, you'll be amused at how people passing by will turn and even stand to check their hair, face and clothes.
