What to wear?

We need to take decisions on so many issues on a daily basis. Some have to be quick and some can wait. Some decisions are taken with help from others and have to be stalled due to lack of unanimity. Life goes on most of which is spent on taking decisions.
There is one decision that I find the most difficult and that is what to wear. Each occasion, each outing, home wear, night wear, what to wear while I am gardening, while I am on my morning walks...... How good are you in making decisions. Do you need help in everything you decide even while choosing your clothes. Do share.

The only time I have a difficult decision is when I'm going out somewhere and I need to dress up. I am living on a very mediocre income allknowing. Right now I'm trying to save money just to move, and also to get a car. My income is very small but it's ok.
I wear what I have and don't have the choice that you do such as what to wear on each outing. My closet is tiny and not even filled. I don't go out much, but if I do, I have the appropriate clothing to wear, even if I wore it before. I have no choice on the matter.
Special occasions I will go out and purchase an outfit for that occasion, like my daughter's wedding. Otherwise, I wear jeans, t-shirts, shorts..plain old everyday clothes..nothing special.

You mean "some" of the people are comfortable when they no longer work. Not everyone can do what you are saying, unfortunately.
We try to save too, just like everyone else, but sometimes it's just not possible. I'm sure your poor people would love to be comfortable in their later years too, but just aren't as fortunate as the rest are. The same goes here in the USA.....such is life.

You know Kash. I can never think of you being in the category that you describe. I just cannot accept it and I refuse to. To me you are someone who would have the wherewithal to be able to get out of whatever situation that you have described and I want you to Kash... Believe me. I mean it.

It is best that we have limited clothes but with different combinations I suppose one could break the monotony.
I notice a lot of you here have financial problems and I am not happy about it. We in India have this saving habit right from the first salary packet. There are many ways one saves here and therefore we are comfortable when we no longer work.

Sometimes what to wear is a hard decision for me. Especially if I am tired. When I was working at more than one job, it was a challenge because suitable for one is not suitable for another. If I wear clothes that are comfortable at home, I may not be dressed appropriately for work. However, no one helps with those decisions, I am just on my own. I like to have several options available for our rapidly changing weather and my notions of what is really comfortable.

I am now up to figuring out what my family eats when I am not at home as well as making the menus for my clients and the shopping lists. Decisions, decisions.

Trivial as it may seem, deciding what to wear can sometimes wear us down, specially with people like you who have different occupations on a single day not to talk of the weather that also decides for you. Talking about decision making it is not just restricted to those hi fi managers in multi-national companies but those housewives who have to worry their pretty head over what to cook, what to buy, what to teach kids, what to watch on tv....have I missed out anything? Sure I have

And then worry what to wear!
When I was on holiday in the US, my Indian friend took me to her son's house and showed me round the house including her American daughter-in-law's 'walk-in' wardrobe where countless outfits were hanging with countless pairs of footwear, bags and what have you. I did no comment but could guess where her daughter-in-law would spend most of her time!

I am a quick decision maker when it comes to picking out something to wear. I usually go for the the color and the motivation of the style. Comfort comes with the casual look for me. It drives me over the edge when I see someone contemplating on a dress for more than an hour. Go with what makes you happy on the first try usually wins out.@allknowing (153544)

Same here even while I shop. The moment I enter a shop I know what I am going to buy unlike one of my friends who would window shop atleast for a month before deciding what to buy! Decision taking is an art no matter in which field it is and deciding what to wear is a special category for women who will spend hours and even start thinking on what to wear when the partner is all ready to go!
You are my kind!

You must have tons of clothes not to be able to decide what outfit you should wear on a particular event or situation!
How many cabinets do you have?
Seriously now, I am really not the kind of person who would ask people for advice on what to wear all the time. I just grab anything that I feel comfortable with and that suits the occasion. But some special events do need a long preparation. And that is one instance where I get to panic. Coz I wouldn't want to buy new clothes just to be able to attend to an event. My sister is my savior in these times. I would often borrow from her! Problem solved!

It is not how many cabinets one has but care needs be taken not to repeat wearing an outfit where you would see the same people that you saw the last time you wore that outfit. It is not just the outfit, everything to go with it as well, the right kind of shoes, the purse, the jewelry, the works. Come on jenny. your grabbing anything that you find comfortable in? I can't buy that! And borrowing your sister's clothes? That again could be quite a decision really!
Out with it jenny. Are you sure you just grab anything that is comfortable and not worry about anything else?

Hahaha! Well, I try to do mix match of clothes to give the illusion of having a wide collection of clothes.
But the truth is, I do have lots of clothes, and they have all been sitting in the closet for quite sometime now since I no longer have a job. So, that solves the dilemma. And also, I really do not go out that often. I just choose the events that I would really want to join. I am not moch of a party goer. I prefer staying at home.

Neither do I go out much but even then I do take time to decide what to wear. Decision taking is quite a task jenny even in other areas which are far too many, on a day to day basis.

I am not so good in decision making as i feel :( most of the time i take so much time while thinking each and every positive and negative possibilities..earlier it was much more serious than the present time, perhaps its because i am the youngest child of my parents, over pampered, over protected..but I realized that its very much important for me to take my own decisions and responsibility of its consequences..
Now, come to the point, choosing clothes is very tough task for me :D i think its a tough job for all women..you can find so many jokes and theories on this topic..hubby often make fun of mine because of this, he asks me before going anywhere 'you have clothes or we should go market first?" :/ :)

The oft repeated sentence 'I have nothing to wear' staring at the wardrobe that has clothes which are beyond counting!
Some have this bad habit of planning on what to wear just before the event while the partner would be ready and waiting and impatient too. This sometimes could be a bone of contention spoiling the outing in full measure.
I can understand your state of affairs in finding it difficult to make decisions as someone else did it for you. But with experience you will get over the fear.
