I joined a race yesterday since it was required in our school and i didn't warm up that much, now my legs feel all sore.. my entire lower body too.
I should have warmed up more- but the damage cannot be undone.. We ran up and down a hill- since our college/school was in the mountains-ish. it has been more than 24 hours, and it hurt even more.. Anyone have some effective tips?

You probably need some potassium, magnesium and calcium - the trio of minerals that helps to regulate activity in your nerves and muscles. And for the soreness you might put some epson salts in your bath.

The first thing I'd do is pop up either paracetamol or any muscle relaxant. And hope that the cramps would go away in an hour or so. And just take a rest and lie down. Maybe a warm bath would soothe the sores on your body.

when you are trying to help your body heal. whatever you do inside the body, do outside. for example, valerian root is a good muscle relaxer. also eating bannas. yarrow is an herb that helps the bones and muscles and a good one to take for athletesl. as far as outside the body. epsom salts are good to soak in the tub with some eucalyptus or lavender. there are also some good muscle cremes that are good to use and don't have a smell. as far as pain killers, like to take aleve.
just some suggestions. hope you feel better soon. also remember to get a lot of heat on those muscles.

This happens to anyone who gets into this kind of activity. No harm excepting that you might feel a bit uncomfortable. I am sure you would have already gone in for a hot water bath and in a couple of days you will be back to normal.
