I have lived in the same house for 13 yrs now and still get mail from the people that lived here before us. I wrote on it that we have lived here that long and that the people whose name is on it haven't and we still get mail for them. We don't get it as often as we used to but we still get it. We even get mail for the people next door which nearly the same address as us and that i can understand. What i don't understand is getting mail from someone with a totally different name and address and street name as us. We have 4 numbers in our address the address of what was on the mail had like 5 and a totally different street name with nothing like ours in the name. I am tired of getting other people mail even when i tell or write on the mail that these people haven't lived here for 13 yrs.

It isn't very often that we happen to get someone else's mail in our mailbox. However when I go out to our mailbox I do end up getting other people's mail because I live with my girlfriend, my little brother, my mom, and my step-dad. So often there isn't always just mail for me. That's part of living together though and it's not really a big deal.

I ofte get someone's else's mail in my mailbox. Sometimes I have to wonder if the mail carrier is reading the names or just picking at random. I spend more time putting inncorectly delivered mail back in my box for the carrier to try again. At least a few times a week this happens to me. Every day is a surprise.

I also receive several mails of somebody else. And it is most likely the previous occupants of the house we are staying now. But when I get to catch the mailman who send it, I do tell him to return the mail where it came from and note that the person does not live here anymore.

In our first house, we would get mails from other people. At first my mom let a few but later on it has become old and tiring and we feel our privacy invaded. Also, we once caught one of them going through our mailbox after the postman just delivered our mail. That's the last straw. From then on, my mom would always be there whenever the postman comes and would hand him back the mail of those people who use our address.

Write wrong address on the envelope, mark out the bar code you see at the bottom of it and put it back in your mailbox with the flag up or drop it off at the post office or mail drop off point. That is the only way for the US postal service to know not to deliver that mail to you any more. I use to get a guys mail delivered to me all the time and it wasn't good mail, it was debt collectors looking for him. It took about a month of sending the mail back but eventually it stopped.
