Lizard can walk on water? Come on you must be kidding me… a Lizard?? You mean L.I.Z.A.R.D?May be you are thinking this way. Hmm.. yes, no blasphemous here, but these lizards are much known as “Jesus Lizard” than basilisk , because it can actually walk on the water. They want to live near lakes or waters because it is easier for them to run away from their predators. How can they do it? Using their hind legs that have flaps of skin between each toe (like the frogs). These flaps of skin produce bubbles or air pockets that serve as their floaters and stop them from sinking. Having quick steps, they were able to maintain the air pockets sustain on the water. The can be found by the way in Central and South America, from southern Mexico to Ecuador and Venezuela. http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/featured/walking-on-water-the-jesus-lizard/13212

Mylot doesn't like my humor (funny photos) so I thought, this could help some interested people to learn. and who knows it could just be found in their yard without them knowing it. I am trying to find out the insects I found here in Thailand in the net. so I can share my authentic pictures, they are real but I don't know their names yet and they are also unique. You will find out soon. thanks Nit

I recently went to a pet shop and got a Savannah Monitor and when I was there I saw two lizards in a cage together and they were both different. One of them was a brown basilisk which is a little smaller than a regular basilisk and the other one was an armadillo lizard. Basically basilisks just run so fast and they aren't that heavy so they are able to move fast enough to stay atop water for a certain distance.

yes,i also observed that lizard can not soak to the water, because when i was a kid i caught a lizard and put it in the water but the lizard will only float in the water and the skin never been wet, maybe because of their skin structure have the ability for that.

I have seen this reptile when it was featured in Discovery Channel along with other incredible species. They captured the lizard's famous movement in high frames and showed the run in slow motion. It's really amazing and it looked so fierce for a tiny thing.
