I was on Craigslist this morning looking at my ads and account. For some reason something told me to look under General Community which I rarely ever go to. So, I did. I saw a title that said This Is My Story...Please Read. I did, I read the entire ad and it made me so much more grateful that I am healthy without any major medical problems...
(This is not a referral link) http://fayetteville.craigslist.org/com/3613838833.html
Just thought maybe more people would want to read the ad that made me think a little differently today about things.

I like how you phrase it.. "I appreciate my life and health MORE". This means that you were already grateful of what you have until you read that article. Sometimes I feel bad when people only get to appreciate things when they see worse. They compare themselves to others which had it worse, then that makes them feel better. I am not really totally against that. Sometimes we really need some eye-opener to see what we really have and be grateful that we have. What if it is too late to appreciate what they have because they already lost it? I hope people will be more grateful with their lives even if it is not better than others. We can't always compare our lives to others, just to affirm that we are having a blast with our lives. Regardless of what others have, we should be thankful.

Your right, I am always grateful for the life I have. Reading that just made me realize another thing I am so lucky to have. And I wanted others to read it as well.

What a heartbreaking read this was. He certainly has overcome many obsticles in his life. I feel so bad for anyone losing their home regardless of whether or not they have a handicap. The fact that he is handicapped tells me that he is probably going to recieve help much quicker and easier than a non handicapped person. I wish I could help but I live in low income housing on wages that barely allow me to get by and surely not enough to help out someone else financially. The thing that I really have trouble with a situation like this is that he is using his handicap as a means to solicit help to save his home. A non handicapped person would not have such help or sympathy from the public. Also what if everyone helps him with his mortgage etc. When does it end?? Is he going to have more money next month to support himself?
As for being grateful for my health, anytime I see a person that is struggling with any sort of illness or handicap, it does make me feel grateful.

It was really sad. He is a really strong person to be able to overcome all that he has, he is much stronger than I am anyway...
No I understand not everyone can help him, I just wanted everyone to read it. =)
Well, your right that he might be using his handicap to get help. But desperate times call for desperate measures sometimes.
Yes it made me more grateful for my health.

Hi, LovingMyBabies! I have just read the link and I feel so sad about the man. It seems like he is full of life from the way he described his situation but he is just out of resources. I hope he will receive enough for his needs.
I am more grateful of my life....there is no absolutely room for complaints.

Yeah I feel sorry for him too. He has a positive attitude for what he is going through, he has to be a strong person! I hope he gets enough too.
I am very grateful today after reading his story too!

I am grateful not to have any major medical problems that limit the things I do... We should all be grateful for the Blessings we have, big or small.

Yeah we do whine and complain a lot but we can still walk and we are not in pain every single minute of the day or at least most of us aren't. It made me think twice about my life and what I should be grateful for... Your welcome for the reminder, I needed it too!

I think reading inspirational stories are articles brings us back down to the ground. Makes us get it real. Wish it was still available to read. It sounded like something that a person could benefit from.

Sometimes, we get so lost in our own misery that we overlook others who are going through far worse situations.
I'm guilty of this.
I read the story, and it is a great reminder that not all our troubles are the absolute worse. There are still a few things that we could be grateful for.
Thanks for sharing.

OMG, this is a good read. I am going to share this with my younger siblings just so they can understand the value of hard earned money and how they should not take their good health for granted. Right now, their only problems are their braces setting their teeth to grow properly and sometimes they will feel so lazy going to their appointments. My husband and I are paying for everything, all they have to do is show up. Don't get me wrong, they are good kids but they also need a few tweaks here and there so they will not grow up to such spoiled brats.
I will also include him in my prayers and I will see if I can send some little help from my side of the planet. Thank goodness he is still doing okay and most especially, he's got this fighter attitude going on for him.
I wish him all the best luck and my prayers are with him.

Yeah, it was something I am really glad I stumbled upon... =)
Sometimes we all take our healthy bodies for granted. I know I have and reading this made me feel a lot more grateful for my health!
Yes I will be helping him too as soon as I can get $5 in my account. I want to help, it must be so hard living in pain every day and going through all he went through! =( I feel so bad for him.
Maybe some of us here can help him though.
And I am sure he would appreciate prayers as well!

Hello there ! That is really our nature as human being , we keep on complaining with life's little discomfort that is given to us then forgetting the so many blessings that God had given. Instead of counting blessings we keep on counting failures in life. A very negative thing , we must be grateful of whatever we have , still though in middle of a hard up life we are fortunate compared to others who wishes for an extension of life . Whatever is in the plate , we must know how to appreciate it and stop looking for what is not there , as simple as that !
