Prank calls...

Have you ever been a receiving end of prank calls or have you ever prank anyone through phone?
I've never had the guts to make one...well...I guess I just don't find it any fun when I'm the one doing the prank and I'm pretty sure myself it ain't fun to be played by other people. But I could still remember my high school girl friends conspiring on making prank calls. They would just dial random numbers and if it ring and the other line answered they would then speak like they've known the other person since forever.
I could even recall my best friend faking a crying voice telling the guy on the other line that he impregnated her or something, and the guy was really panicking and telling my best friend he has a girlfriend.
I actually feel awful and pity the guy, but even if how much I tried on stopping my friends on doing prank calls they won't heed me, so I just left them to their devices. But I admit that I occasionally laughed at their antics. It's really immature but I guess that's their definition for fun.
So how about you, have you ever made prank calls or you've been a victim?

Back in High School I did it several times. Well, it was actually because i had a crush on this guy and I wouldn't want him to know who I really was. I don't want him to like me just because I called him up. I was just so intrigued by the ind of person that he was.

waaa..!! That was so cute! Haha! I could never imagine myself doing that...but I couldn't recall myself having a crush that much...I rarely have one, and when I do I just brush or shrug the feeling off. I don't care much for my love life even now, I enjoy watching others' more. Haha! So did you have any luck finding out the person he is back then?

I was such a snoop back in the days! If i really somebody, I go out of my way in finding his home and a lot about the person. So I was not just a prank caller but a stalker as well! Well that was gazillion years ago!

Yes to both. When I was a kid, it was something my friend and I did just for fun. Of course back then, there was no caller ID or anything and tracing the calls were not as easy as they are now. I've also been the victim as an adult usually just laugh it off.

Haha! The experience sure sounds like fun when it came from an adult...Thanks for sharing. I have not done any prank calls ever, and had never been a victim either...now that I think about it, my life is quite boring...lol! I wonder how will I react when someone did that to me.

Hi there! yes, i have gone through such before, and i think i know the person who was making my phone life miserable! It started when my bf cheated on me and occasionally someone would call my phone and I would never have a chance to speak to the person because he or she would hang up on me... I just confirmed that it was her eventually. Because i happened to save the number and it came back again when it was threatening me to take care of my life - so those were more of threats, right? not pranks?! he he but yeah it started out pranks i guess when i was always being text-ed that my bf already had a child and he got another woman pregnant.

f a prank call is not funny at all.My husband was in the landscaping business and a man called telling us he was angry with my husband because he took the job away from his Uncle. Well while my husband was on the phone our door opened and a man threw our newly planted rose bushes into our living room and laughed then left.Those were too very vicious pranks and we called the police who did know the man who phoned my husband. That man was arrested for prank calls and threats and hiring a man to dig up our roses and throw then into our living room.Pranks are not funny at all to me but cruel and vicious instead.

On a few separate occasions some students from my daughters school have called here.
The first time , it was my daughter and some of her band classmates. She tried to lie that she didn't know about it , but I know my child's laugh and I could hear her in the background as her friend asks " is Honalee there?". she started giggling and hung up the phone. The next time I let the answering machine get it. They called back a couple more times.
The other time, my dad was at home very sick and these jerkholes students called multiple times breathing and making loud noises on the answering machine, so I told my girls to inform their friends that we do have caller ID and the next time they will get a visit by the police.
If It hadn't been for them calling and disturbing my fathers rest, I could have lived with it, but the screwed up royally by doing that.
We haven't had any calls from them since that day though.

There was a time when me and my friend used to make a lot of prank calls to a random people. I'm not sure why we foud it so funny back then but now we've grown up a little and we don't do that anymore. Some people got really pissed off to our amusement and we had fun but it's time to mature a bit.
I've been reciving some prank calls in the past but it wasn't really anything creative or especially mean so it's not worth remembering.

Yes i have been a victim and iv'e done the prank. When i was a kid i did it by myself. I also did it with friends. I stopped tho when i became the victim because i saw how it felt to be the victim of a prank phone call. Also when i was a kid they didn't have caller ID or phone trace so it was easier to make the calls. Now when someone calls you can see who did it. Tho i just hang up on the person when they prank me.

I never made any prank calls because back then our line charges by the minute and we still have a party line. Then when I had my own cellphone, my parents did not give me a postpaid line so I have to use the prepaid ones and have to conserve my minutes. And most of all, I find it too childish and a waste of time. A few horror stories of prank calls gone bad is enough to scare me to actually make one. I also have been a victim of prank calls. In the middle of the night, someone would call our line asking for SOP. We have to bear it for many many nights before the phone company finally installed our caller ID. My dad finally talked to the owner of that phone and they found out that their live in gardener is the one using the line during those nights.
