Two weeks ago I started taking an antidepressant called Noritren. My psychiatrist says that it might take 3 or 4 weeks before I experience the full effect of the medication, but I already feel better than I did in the beginning of the week. I experience two side effects so far. My mouth is very dry and I get dizzy sometimes especially when I leave the bed too quickly. I already take two other kinds of antidepressants and I don't have to continue with Noritren for a long time, but right now I take Noritren twice a day. I take 50 mg per day at the moment and when we get the results from the blood tests I might have to increase the dosage.
Do any of you take Noritren or did you take it in the past? Does/did it help you? Which side effects did you experience?

Thank you. I started taking Noritren two weeks ago, and I think that I have started to feel the effect of the medication. Maybe not the full effect, but I feel better than I did in the beginning of this week. I am waiting for the results of the blood tests, and I might have to increase the dosage, but right now I stick to 50 mg per day.

I think you are not in the right way. It is not necessary to take medicine for overcoming depression. You can practice meditation. Meditation makes mind free from anxiety. Anxiety for any reason is one of the causes of depression. Don't be over serious for any thing. Take it lightly. I hope soon you will overcome your problem.

I used to meditate, but I haven't done it recently. In another discussion another Mylot also recommended meditation as a way to overcome depression, and I think that it would a good idea to meditate again like I didn't in the past. I don't think that it is realistic for me to avoid medication completely. I sometimes think about quitting the medication because I experience side effect from the medication. I get tried, hungry, dizzy etc, but I would be afraid to quit the medication because I have tried that in the past and I got very ill.

Hi!
I do not take any antidepressant like Noritren. It is possible that antidepressant would have some side effects and you will have to bear with it.
If the medicine is helping you remain calm and reducing your depression, then for the time being you could ignore the side effects.

I agree with that. I think every antidepressants has some side effect. They have different side effects, but I never heard about antidepressants without any side effects at all. I think that I have to accept the side effects at least at the moment. I started taking the new medicine two weeks ago, and almost immediately I started experiencing the side effects like dizziness, but I try to live with those things. I hope that I will get a positive effect from the medicine. I already feel better than I did one week ago, but I didn't experience the full effect of the medicine yet.
