They only have black and white color

When i still a kid i so suprised when i watch movie in year 40s to 60s. Why i suprised? I suprised because they dont have a color. I ask my mom why people in there black and white. My mom say it is because of film. I still not understand in that time. In my mind long time ago the world dont have a color and only have black and white. When i think it back it is so funny. For those who is live at that year i am very sure you live in black and white world. Haha.

The technology of film has changed greatly over the years. The original movies did not have sound. Early films were also made with a film composition called nitrate which was unstable and could catch fire. Early films needed careful storage or they would self destruct. For this reason many early films no longer exist. There has also been a good bit of work done to restore early films. It wasn't until 1948 when safety film went into use. There were methods of making color films early on but they were difficult and more expensive. It wasn't until 1950 that new color film technology was developed. Some classic black and white films have been 'colorized' but that is a painstaking process because you have to colorize each frame individually. But then if you wanted to see a color movie on TV in the fifties, you would have been out of luck because color TV didn't come into existence until the '60's.

Ha i did not know very very early film it dont have a sound. Yes in that 50s to make a color film it is very expensive. Some movie still use black and white film until 60s. Only in year 70s all movie have a color.

Pretty much by the mid '50's most movies were starting to be filmed in color. TV shows very often were still filmed in black and white possibly to save money but also because only black and white TV sets were available. Color TV's started to become available in the early '60's and this was promoted in the US by the TV network NBC going to all color shows. This made the other two networks (at the time), CBS and ABC, also switch completely to color broadcasts. NBC had a reason to lead the switch to color, however, because they were owned by RCA. RCA felt that by making TV shows filmed in color it would help them to sell more color TV sets. Of course this is before the days when Sony and other Japanese companies captured the TV market.

yes I think that too when I was too younger and still in elementary class.
its quite obvious that when time keeps running the technology is also proceeding to invent new things.. im afraid someday science invent more than a colored tv?

Yes technology always proceeding to invent new things. Right now it is high definition video. It is very clearly. Everything on our face it is clearly to see when we using high defenition video. So nothing we can hide.

Yes they only can hide behind a scene. Maybe they also use some make up to actor and actress.

I am happy I was not born when those where the only thing on tv lol ... I do what some old movies now but black and white just really bring it down . I am proud of the people in those days that help improve technology so we can have such an amazing experience today .
Maybe far in the future our great great grand children will be saying we have live in the stone age in 2013

Yes the technology improve a lot. All things right now is touch screen i dont know what will suprise us after 10 years. By the way technology really help us now.

There was color in moves back then but very little because it was so expensive to have color in moves since ti had just come out not long ago. They did also have color film for cameras but not like they do today. Most camera film and movies were black and white so i guess they di live in a lack and white world back then.

Ha i think it really not fun to live in the world only have a black and white color. Hmm i still not see any people which is live in that time respond at here. By the way i think they really happy because they have color now.

Well that's funny because all of us know that people were colourful, but the technology wasn't fast enough to show colour movies. That' why the black and white photos and films. I pity those people who could not capture their colourful moments in a colourful photo.

Yeah not only film but also a photo. At here in year 70s the photo still black and white. Only in 80s the world become colorful.

Ha i also bored when i watch black and white movie. Sometime action in there not look realistic because in that time the technology still not good.
