So much for a day off today.......

Mexico
February 24, 2013 8:18am CST
Its sunday, my cafe is closed today. Should be a day off for me.. But , its not. Ive decided to change the house around today. I havent done this.... in a long time. I know my mom used to do it every few months here... Im doing this, so I can clean behind some things, that havent been cleaned in a long time.. And since my son, is working more than I am in cafe these days. I need a better place for my computer in the living room. Need to be able to see the front door, and the tv... Ha ha ha Its a big job to change around ones house. So much for a day off here........

I hope you get it all moved around and how you like it. Glad to hear your son is doing well, and you have him working.

That is good, some days I don't feel motivated and push things off. I have to clean everyone cages, and dishes but will do that tomorrow or Tuesday when I have the afternoon off.

I never change my furniture around. I guess because where my furniture is the only place for it. There is no place to rearrange it. I one time had my computer in my formal living but once I got cable internet I moved my computer into my family to be near my television. Now, I son had his computer in the formal living that I used to have my computer.

I usually dont, but I wanted to clean behind some thing. And I needed to move my table with the computer on, so I could see the tv, and the window to my cafe from the same place. So we did. Took like 2-3 hours. Glad I did it.

Yeah, no rest for you to day. But then when you're done with the house thing, I am sure hat you will feel happy and refreshed after seeing a new looking house that is clean and looking just the way you want it.

Hi Maria, You know what they say don't you? A change is as good as a holiday. In your case there are twofold advantages. Firstly, you are doing different work than what you do in the cafe and secondly, you are freshening everything up while gaining a whole new perspective. Think positive now!

That's what I do. I'm often overwhelmed by the chores that need doing. It seems to build up when I'm not looking...lol. I try to do a little each day and then I actually manage to catch up. Then it builds up and so it goes on...

Maria, having a day off is to make rest for you. Do not be stressful. The Lakers are really improving and hope to see them in the playoffs.

Yeah that's how I feel too when I only get 1 day off in the whole week I work. This weekend I happened to have all of it off and took advantage of resting the whole weekend and feels great to be caught up on sleep. Now I don't get a weekend off for another 3 weeks. But when I have a day off I do a lot of cleaning and catching up around the house too so it seems like your days off really aren't because they go so fast. But it makes you feel great once it's done though.

I have done that in the past and I am thinking about doing it again. I do get bored looking at things the way they are. I like to change things around. I know its hard work, but in the end, it is worth it.

Well, it is no longer hump day now. LOL. I will be rearranging things soon. I also am planning on painting a few rooms. And making the little spare room I have for my son when the kids come. My daughter has a room on the second floor that she wanted. So, at least they will have a room of their own here.

Sunday is a day off. but to be honest that day seemed to have a lot at work. can say that in this day got the mngo things to do. maybe when we procrastinate at work some things and those things are now done just on a weekend is not pleasant but it is an obligation!

Cleaning the house takes a lot of time. When you are about to start it, you may feel tiring. But once you have started, its not that boring also because you may find some funny old things that may cheer you up.

I've been thinking we need to consider doing this as well as it helps give a new perspective to things as well when you do this. We are wanting to remove the carpet etc and put down a wood look so need to take time to so some spring cleaning etc as well. Always is nice when you take time to give your place a new look.

I think you are a person who has to be 'active' and cannot just sit alone and relax, you have to be doing something at least constructive, am I right my friend? Your son seems to be a great help already, he's worth his weight in gold. My day off is Tuesday and I have to admit I spend a lot of it in bed!

oh maria I do envy you the biggest error we ever made in our marriage was selling the house we had alm st finished paying off and at a time when houses were not selling well as we ended up having to live in apartments. I always missed not having a real home to rearrange and move things around . apts are not the same. now i am stuck here and guess I will never see a real home again. oh they tell me this is home oh yeah no its an institution not a home. a home does not house one hundred people.

I understand that, We lived years in a 2 bedroom apt. in,las vegas. Was way to small to even move anything around. of course this house here is 5 bedrooms and a family room. Hope you have a great week there.
