Philippines

when i last visited the doctor,s he advised me to diet because my blood pressure is high for my age. and i also think that some of my clothes don't fit me well anymore. hehehe. actually, it's more of for health reasons than physical appearance. i'm wondering are there diet methods that you would recommend for me? i don't really want to spend much so the simplest way, the better. i don't really like going to the gym but i promise to be more active physically and exercise.

You could compute for your caloric requirement and then slowly lessen your food intake inn accordance to it, crash diets are no good as it will have a yoyo effect on you. Yoyo effect is so bad,

yes, i think it's abnormal and you're body couldn't adjust to sudden deprivation of food in its system. it's really bad for your health.

the one thing i know about dieting is contrary to popular belief, you must eat three square meals a day. it's not what you eat, it's how you eat and at what times. don't make sure you eat a well balance diet at breakfast and not eat anything else after dinner hours. i know that you don't like to exercise, but it is unavoidable for anyone trying to loose weight and stay fit. some gym time is necessary, but you don't have to go all the time. you can do different things and get creative for a work out. try dancing, skating, pool exercises are also fun and good for the muscles. get all the junks foods out of your life and replace with healthy food, low in bad fat.

I have a friend who has a nutritionist and then everything she is to eat is delivered on to her doorstep everyday. And goodness she did lose a lot of weight. They'll even do a personalized analysis on your body and she was only allowed to lose up to a certain weight because her body wouldn't be proportioned. Her feet are too big so they try to not make her thighs look too small so that her big feet Won't look bad on her body

a high school friend of mine lost a lot of weight since she got a nutritionist. i'm sorry but i'm not really into that idea because it's expensive. i liked gypsy's suggestion about sports. maybe i should indulge myself more into it.

It is weird, as to you pay 1000$ just so they could feed you less. It is cool though as you don't have to think too much. I'd like to try it someday. i remember this actor who turned gay, i believe her name was bb gandanghari, she wanted to be a model in Europe but they only got size zeroes as models. So what she did was eat lemon and water every single day for 3 weeks, its all lemon and water. its so bad

pedometer - Pedometer is used to measure the number of steps you have made.
It helps in determining if you have reached your goal(number of steps).
This will help you monitor your steps, and eventually your health.
Do you know pedometer? It calculates how much you have walked for the day. And I think there is a required number of steps you should make a day to make you keep on shape (the very least). So I recommend you buy that one and try to reach the number of steps required. Of course, you should be very careful with your food intake. Always take a breakfast, lunch and eat less on supper. Food supplements are also good if you don't get much nutrients from the food you're eating. Since you don't like to go the gym, walking is the best you could do as I have said above.

well ther should be a balance between healthy eating and exercise. i dont do diet because i hate it when i cant eat the foods that i like but i always see to it that i make myself active in sports which might be the reason why i dont get overweight.and of course yoour body needs the necessary rest.

i still eat foods hat i want. i just reduce the amount. like i've read in some diet books, "a little amount of everything" is still good.

Well, you just need to eat more vegetables and fruits and lessen your intake of carbs and protein. That should help you with it. Also, take as much water as you can in a day replacing sodas.

Good for you! That is one thing I could not get rid if especially when eating certain food although I really do not drink if everyday. So then, you should just reduce the amount of food you eat so that somehow that could help you lose some weight.

I lost my weight without having any activity, I just start eating once a day, specially I left breakfast I took only a cup of tea for that, and eat in the evening. take more fruits and juice, I just drink lime juice before going to sleep and when I got up in the morning. just without even walking, as I am all time at home, I lost 25 k.g in 3 months like that.

that's really quite an achievement. but i really can't survive the whole day without a heavy breakfast. i feel like i'll die. i guess i should just add more fruits.

Hi, are you eating healthy? I'm not saying that you should go all-organic, I mean I think the blood pressure is because of what you eat and at the same time the lack of exercise. You don't really need to go to the gym to have some physical activities. The best is to start 'walking". Walk a lot. I know sometimes we get lazy to do it but that's where an exercise plan should begin.

i used to walk a lot but there were changes in my life that made me lessen walking. maybe my blood pressure rose because i ate a lo of oily foods last christmas. there were a lot of occasions in the family where lechon is served and i ate a lot. hehehe. i guess it's time to shed off those fat.

Doing taebo is a healthy cardio exercise. I have a tape so I do it at home because I am not comfortable in going to the gym. I'm on an after 6 diet and it is really helping a lot. I do not eat anything beyond six pm. I just drink plenty of water. But before 6 I usually stuff myself. These routines have made me loose a kilo in less than a month. I don't know if it's a lot to loose but it is working anyway. Good luck!

Well, same as you my doctor warned me of my high cholesterol.. I should also go on diet but I tried a lot of methods nothing is successful except one .. jogging.. But still I wasn't able to do it regularly because of my work.. I spend so much time with my work to the point that I cannot find time to exercise... ( Stress!) Goodluck to your diet!

i really think jogging is one of the simplest most effective form of exercise. i guess i should push myself more because i feel like i'm running out of breath in just short distances.

I would recommend you start slow and don't go all out on some diet that you're not used to. So as you said start doing some excersise. I dont' know what you do already but even if you said you were going to walk everyday for 20 minutes to start. If you can do more you can do exersises in your own home like squats. For food the same thing don't change everything. First thing I'd recommend for you is to drink plenty of water, it will give you more energy to exersise and can help you eat less. Drink a glass of water about 30 minutes before you eat and you should feel fuller quicker. Also snacks. If you are a chips and chocolate kind of person swap that first for fruits. You can find plenty of quick and easy snack ideas online too. It's the calories you need to be most concerned about. One more thing I'll mention to you since you have high BP. Eat potassium rich foods. Bananas are the most obvious of them but there are others higher such as spinach (leafy greens). Good luck with it and I hope this has helped you some

I think you better eat brown rice instead of white, choose wheat bread than white and avoid eating food with so much oil and fats!,, easpecially fast food!and all the processed for and salty food! then of course better to eat fruits and vegetables,,, i read an article before for those who go on a diet that they shout eat fruits 1 hour before meal,, in that way you'll eat less and not be tempted to eat a lot because you're already full.. but above all you need a good motivation and self discipline!
• Philippines
25 Feb 13
i also believe in self discipline and strong will for diet to work. i guess i'd try eating fruits before meals. that sounds reasonable.
