Pizza Delivery vs Carry Out

I'm wondering how many people prefer to order their pizza and pick it up while they are out doing other things or do you just want to enjoy your pizza by staying home? I have done both and week days I'm more likely to order a pizza and stay home. I'm finding some days are so busy working that ordering a pizza saves time and I don't end up missing a meal. Today I'm having a pineapple and ham pizza delivered, so I can spend more time commenting on articles on Mylot. Hope your having a great day.

I've gotten to the point where I can't stand the few pizzas that deliver, either their greasiness or the price. Cici's pizza, while not exactly world shaking, are cheap and not to greasy AND I can get one without tomato sauce!

I don't like the tomato sauces they put on pizzas, so I get the pizza without sauce. I put on my homemade sauce and its so good that I'm thinking about making a homemade pizza tomorrow. Thanks for posting.

My daughter can't eat tomatoes or she has hives, so I completely understand about tomato products. Its the biggest reason we make more homemade pizza now. The biggest plus to homemade is you know what your eating and certainly can make a healthy pizza.

Its not that I don't like tomato sauce, its that I avoid when I can tomato sauce, just like I avoid eating meat on pizza... ahh... food allergies....

I'd probably have to say I prefer pizza delivery. However, I live right outside the area where the delivery area ends, so I haven't had a pizza delivered to me in almost 18 years! If my family wants a pizza, my husband and I have to get it ourselves. That's okay though. We're used to it, we're not bothered by it at all! LOL Happy mylotting!

I lived many years outside the city limits, so spent many years making pizza. Today I had delivery and the final cost for a large was $2.69, so hard to say no to having pizza. My area has a lot of pizza places, who all offer me free pizzas to encourage me to eat their place only. If I lived closer to one that delivered today it could have been free, as that is the delivery charge. Thanks for posting.

I don't like pizza delivery or carry out because the pizza will not taste well. I prefer to have the fresh pizza since it will taste the best. Since there are a few pizza restaurants nearby my home. So I don't mind going there to have a pizza. I pay attention to the taste.

I do enjoy visiting a restaurant that makes pizza. Pizza is one of the foods my entire family loves to eat. Thanks for posting.

Pizza time - Pizza time at a roofdeck
Actually I don't enjoy eating pizza all by myself. I enjoy savoring its taste when I am with my family or group of friends whether be at home or at the pizza parlor. Neither could I enjoy eating pizza while doing something. To me eating pizza is one of my ways of taking a break from my busy schedule . So pizza time is a time to sit and relax while eating and chatting and laughing with my family or friends.

I do enjoy eating pizza with my family, as its a great way to watch a movie, see a game and just to relax and do nothing else. Its fun food that we can all put different things on it. Thanks for posting.

I have had all sorts of pizzas. The pizza chains (the sort that you can carry out or have delivered is something that I don`t like anymore and only recurr to them when one of my daughters come with their children by surprise and they order and pay for it. I know a wonderful pizza restaurant (in fact it has other italian food) where you can only eat while you are there. They have awesome pizzas. Most of the times, I make my own. I have an easy pizza dough recipe and I put whatever I wish.

Pizza can be a low cost meal made at home, but lately with all the free ones I have from Papa John's its cheaper to have them make it. I won from picking Heads on Super Bowl Sunday and have used several gift cards that I earned on reward sites to get free pizza. I'm a member of the Papa John's Club, so every time I have enough points there is another free pizza. I have been using carry out lately because of the $2.50 charge for delivery. Its not a lot of money, but does add up over time. Thanks for posting.

I like to order my pizza online and have it sent to me and my family at our house. I really don't like calling in pizza at all so it's just easier this way for me.

It does cost more; however, it keeps me from skipping a meal when I'm really busy. My Mondays are so busy with work and then trying to do some on line posting. Thanks for posting.

I would also prefer it to be delivered at home, because I am lazy like that. Besides, I have paid for the pizza, I don't need to spend more on fare or gas when I can avoid it, plus the trouble of getting ready to go out. But lately, I am liking homemade pizza more and more. Just because it's healthier and I can control what to put in it.

I do agree homemade is healthier and many times costs me less. Its hard to get everyone to agree on the toppings sometimes when I order. We make the small single serving at home, so everyone can have what they prefer. Thanks for posting.
