As much as possible, I don't want to be jumping from one job to another. But we cannot avoid it especially if we are aiming for a much higher salary or is now comfortable with our present job. As of now, I am working in the government for 3 years and I just hope that this will be my job until I retire or become rich in an instant, probably winning lotto or finding a better source of income online, whichever comes first. Have a great day!

I had more than 10 different jobs and I like to change jobs quite often because I find it interesting to get new challenges and learn new things. I am very happy that I have tried many different things and I think that I have learned something from every single job. I have worked in nursing homes, home healthcare, in homes for people with special needs, in kindergartens etc. I never change jobs because of the salary, because it is more important to me that do something that I enjoy and I really enjoy working with people. My dream job would a job as a psychologist or a psychoterapist.

Hi there Susan0908! Actually, I do not like changing jobs. I have come to terms of jobs having its ups and downs and you just have to weigh if it's worth enduring its cons. I am currently working in a call center and although it is kinda hard especially because I'm always on graveyard shift, there's also the highly satisfactory pay and other perks and benefits so I can say that it is worth it and I am not planning to quit. Before I had a job that I did not like and I just submitted my resignation. When hunting for a new job, I consider location, compensation and professional growth.

This is my 13th job. The longest I have ever work in a same company is 3 years plus. I still manage my own business of 10 years. So.... being own boss is still the best option. I recently started to work in a new company, now I am here for more than three months. Last time I go for the salary, career advancement and better prospect. Nowadays I go for near my home and less work pressure. So, when we are at a different phase in life, our expectation in life change too!

Well, I work in IT industry and job hopping is fashion for some of them in this industry.Mostly it is for money and some for better careers. But then for me personally, i would like to change job for promotions and money and better growth opportunities.Changing jobs are not easy thing. There are many factors to be considered like the family side of the things, personal commitments, new environment, travel involved and many more. Its is actually a complex decision and has many things impacting. That has been my case all throughout my career .There could be other factors like the kind of job, the supervisors involved and kind of job security and comfort and flexibility it provides. As long as things are align with your comfort and goals, its is ok to stay with the organisation.Once there is a deviation, we should think carefully on things and make decisions accordingly.Well,i have left 2 organisations in my 7 year old career.Sooner than later i am looking for my next company as i am not seeing the relevant growth and progress in my current organisation. But then i have been solid performer in all three organisations. Thanks!

Hi Susan, I think we should looks into our self first. Which type of person are you? If you are into career then changing jobs need to be treated carefully since it will affect your future plan. If you are into a freelancer type then changing job will have less of impact since many freelancer does not really really on the career progress. So once you define which type are you then later we will need to look into what reason urge us to change job. As you have said many will be forced to change job because of money but some peoples like me prefer times better. Others find that their family needs and their lifestyle too affecting this issue. As far as I'm concerned you will need to track your records either you are a career type or the freelancer type because well employer will certainly love to see your progress during your advance that's for sure.
