The Price Is Right cheated a contestant

The Price Is Right has had a long standing rule that when spinning the wheel if it doesn't go all the way around, it doesn't count. On the show that aired on 02-25-13 on the first time at spinning the wheel, the first person, who starts with the wheel on the 1.00 spot spun and it only made it around to the .05 which is just before the 1.00. So it had not gone all the way around. When she spun again it went all the way around and far enough to land on .80 but they counted it as .85 which they shouldn't have since the first .05 should not have counted. The next person spun and it went all the way around and landed on .85 and they said it was a tie. The third person did not tie or beat .85. Then they had a spin off between the woman who they counted as having a .85 when she actually only had a .80 and the guy who had legally had the .85 and should have gone to showcase without a spin off. In the spin off that should not have happened, the woman who shouldn't have been there spun 1.00 and won $1,000 and since the guy did not spin 1.00, she went to the showcase. So the guy got cheated out of going to the showcase.

I normally watch this everyday...I love the show. The one I see is with Drew Carey, which are the newer one's. Is this one with Drew Carey? I would imagine if YOU saw this, they saw it too, or a million other viewers saw the mistake. I don't think they would have let this go as that would bring really bad reviews of the show. They probably did something to compensate for this somehow, although I don't know how or what they would do. Maybe they'll have the person back on the show again. I thought they started on the $.05 cent mark, not the $1.00 mark.

The first person to spin starts on the 1.00 mark and then the others start where the previous spinner ended. They start on the .05 if a person spun a dollar and is then trying for more more money in the bonus spin. I went to the website(CBS) and checked the video there, they only have the last two days so it would be gone now, to make sure I saw it right and I did. Yes this is the current version with Drew Carey as host. Not only was it his mistake but I am pretty sure some producer would be keeping tabs on the spinning and must have missed it, too.

Ohhhhh, they start on the $.05 if the person spun a dollar...I must be thinking of that then. Wow, you got a good eye, lol! I do love the show though and it sort of brightens up my gloomy winter mornings here along with "Let's Make A Deal".....everyone is having such a great time on these shows.

Whoah! they should have complained. But I guess there are little rules that may be printed in the rule book. But if they complained right then and there, there may be something that could be done.

I think somebody should have said something at the time. It certainly would have been when Bob Barker hosted the show. I'm not a fan of the host now and don't know if the rules have changed.

Game show unfairness has been a problem for a long time. I think he should file a challenge and point out the wheel didn't go around, as in the past I have watched people return to Wheel Of Fortune due to show errors. Its even pointed out there was an error, so the person returned to the show. It will continue to happen with the fast pace of a game show and the fact that nobody said it didn't go all the way around at the time. I would put the blame on the host, who should have been watching closely. I know Bob Barker use to tell the others more than once to watch and see if its gone around.

that is not fair if that is indeed the rule. Too bad for the guy who missed out on the showcase due to this. The price is right is travelling to my town shortly. I was thinking of going to try out.

It has been a very, very long time since I've watched The Price is Right, but I can definitely tell you that if I was the guy that had legitimately spun the $.85 then I would absolutely be hostile, but I would not have been the kind of person that would have made a big deal out of the fact that I'd been cheated on the air. I would imagine that if he does say something about it that The Price is Right staff will do everything that they can to do right by this contestant.
