Does drinking coffee makes you more tired?

I know one of the withdrawal symptoms for caffeine addiction is tiredness. But how so? I thought coffee keeps you awake and not make you tired. I drank coffee almost everyday and sometimes I feel more tired when I didn't drink coffee.

Maybe it is all in your mind. I drink coffee atleast 2x a day. And even if I skip one day, I don't feel anything unusual about it.

Or maybe it's just lack of sleep..:P Because sometimes I needed to wake up and get some work done.

Coffee has always been part of my morning ritual. It perks me up. I used to drink more than 2 cups in a day, until I had palpitations, and so I have just limited it to one in a day. It is really very seldom that I take more than one cup in a day. As with teas, you can only consume a certain amount in a day, too coz if can damage your kidneys. Teas can cause you to urinate more often. And forcing our kidneys to do than more than the normal excretion, can do harm.

I think everything in "moderation", I have had too much coffee and when this happens I get really shakey, and feel my body is telling me too much. I now try to limit my coffee intake and always feel better for it. I have heard that if you try to quit you will get light headness feeling among many others. I would like to one day quit coffee and drink tea,(I think it is better for us).

coffee - Which is good
I prefer tea than coffee.A glass of hot tea early in the morning is a must for me.I feel very bad with tea in the morning.Daily i drink two glass of tea ,one in the morning and one in the evening.I rarely drink coffee.I like to take coffee from the restaurant. The medicinal value of tea far better than coffee.Black tea is good for head ache and reliving tension.I think it is the simple drink preferred by people around the world.

Black tea? Maybe I should consider drinking black tea because sometimes I tend to have headaches. Although I'm someone who likes green tea more.

I don't know how caffeine works. Whe I drink coffee, it doesn't make me any more or less tired but instead I can't sleep. It doesn't really help me to not have engery to do anything and not be able to sleep so I don't drink coffee. Maybe coffee has different effect on different people. If coffee has a good effect on you then you should drink it.

Coffee has different effect on different people. I remember a long time ago, there was some infomercial on tv with this man that suggested to parents of ADHD children, to give them a little coffee before sending them off to bed. Supposedly it has a calming effect on them. Caffeine also does not keep me awake the same as it does other people. If I drink more than 5 cups it'll give me the jitters then I can't function right. Jitters and energy ain't the same thing.

I never experienced any discernable difference in my fatigue when I drank coffee vs when I didn't, but I'm not a huge drinker.

I'm a coffee drinker myself but most of the time the effect in me is otherwise. They say it keeps you awake, maybe to some but for me it's not. So, drinking coffee do helps to keep you more alert. Yeah, I guess it's the caffeine.

Ohh....is it like that. Now I got the reason for my question,I think. Sometimes I used to drink coffee before playing but while playing I feel tired and probably I feel sleepy too. I didn't know why this was happening.Actually I was drinking coffee hoping that the caffeine present in that will boost me. But it never happened.

Coffee - This is an image for coffee
Hello TrinityDownpour this is checkmail and me too often used to have coffee earlier when used to work more than mine capacity.Coffee works good, it gives us energy with more freshness, but after all it contains caffeine which often ain't good for health. The body requires rest but coffee somewhat helps to over strain it, even myself suffered sleepless night many times.every thing we intake should be in an balanced diet nothing exceeds.

You are probably immune to the effects of keeping you awake. How many cups of coffee do you take, and how strong is the brew? I take coffee every day, for many many years, but I am sure I can still last a day or two without it. Well, I would add...until proven otherwise.

coffee is not keeping you awake that is a fairy tale. Coffee is activating the state you are already in. For me (and also others) it works fine to fall asleep.

Actually, caffeine is a stimulant that's why when you drink coffee you get more active. And when you get used to drinking coffee your body adapts to it. As you drink more and more coffee you are like telling your brain that the hyperactive feeling is just normal. So when you withdraw from drinking, you're back from the normal state. This sudden change makes confusion to your brain. As a result, it's interpreted as a "tired feeling".

i could say i am a bit addicted to coffee but i am not aware about withdrawal symptoms as i had not decided on stopping. i think every withdrawal symptom gives feelings of uneasiness, tiredness, nausea or dizziness, etc. it could be the answer to your question.

Well it can, but I have never heard of it doing that. I mean many drink it to stay awake, but sometimes the sugar and all of that in it can make you tired and not want to do anything. Yes it can happen if you are adding a lot of sugar and stuff to your coffee plus all of that caffeine.

Coffee is a stimulant, but I think if your body is definitely in need of rest or sleep, no amount of coffee can sustain your energy to be up and active for a few more hours.

yes coffee keeps you awake and have some kind aenergy. but the more time you be awake the more tired your body gets. sleep is a necessity for every animal to regain their strength and be activ enough. although adding alot of sugar can keep you tired. the best way is try to drink coffe without less sugar and it will be ok and avoid drinking too much coffee and you will get addicted to it. try drinking tea for soemtime although it wont give you much effects like coffe does it is relatively better for your body! :)
