Have you ever tried to cook something at home that you tried at a restaurant?

My family has tried stuffed mushrooms, a different type of salad, and nacho cheese in a taco. We have had all three of these foods but was able to make it different once we tried them at a restaurant. What have you tried to make at home after eating it at a restaurant?

Oh yes. Many times. And with many things. Bourbon chicken comes to mind and mine turned out pretty close to the real thing. Sometimes it works out, and other times it doesn't. But nothing I have ever tried has been inedible.

Absolutely! I also tried to cook the stuffed mushrooms I tried at an elegant restaurant in town. They had red chili peppers, artichoke hearts, spinach and creamy cheese. Oh my goodness, they were so good I had to make them at home...and I did a good job! We have them every couple weeks now. I also tried to remake Gilbertini from some place my husband used to eat at. Thankfully there were many recipes on the web, because I've never had it personally.

Honestly saying,I haven't tried even once. But many times I have asked my mom to cook it like that. From that you might have got that I am too lazy.Yes I am. But I am sure even if I try I can't make the same thing at home with the same taste. I don't know what special ingredients are added to it in the restaurants to increase the taste.

Wow, you and your family members are very creative and innovative. Yes, after eating at a fine dining restaurant, I tend to improve my cooking to adapt some of the ingredients and food presentation that I had at the restaurant. It is like a 'breath of a fresh air'. My son would say ..."wow, just like we ate at the hotel the other day!". I am glad he appreciates it.

There was a certain type of spiced mushroom soup I tried to make after eating it in a restaurant... it turned out okay. I still have to improve in it :).

I make a lot of things that I have eaten in restaurants over time. First, hamburgers, pizza, tacos and fried chicken! You can tell I'm not into sit down restaurants. I do make fried rice and some other Chinese food but I learned that in Singapore. I prefer my own fried rice over that of most restaurants. I do most of the other common foods from restaurants, like chicken fried steak with milk gravy, some Italian dishes and things like that.

I was in a restaurant one day and I saw on the menu baked ravoli. Which I totally love. We had them and they were so good. So I told my hubby I have to learn how make this at home. So I checked it online and found out how to make them. It was pretty easy and it turned out delicious. I have the desire to make them again but can't find the ravolis in the store. I have to go shopping at another store to see if I can find them.
