My 5 year old son at school has been learning about caves. I am going to show his teacher my Belize travel photo album. I visited a cave by swimming into it and then doing much climbing. I had a crash helmet on and socks on my feet. I had my swimming costume on and whilst swimming I kept my other clothing inside my helmet. The cave was ever so beautiful and wonderful. I saw broken pieces of Mayan pots and old bones. It was one of the most exciting things that I have ever done that cave visit. Have you visited a cave? If so what was it like?

The water I swam into was cold. I loved seeing the stalactites and the stalagmites. It is great that you now don't feel afraid anymore.

I suffer from claustophobia and cannot be in small places certainly confined spaces like caves and elevators. I have watched a few movies about caves and people getting stuck in them and not finding their way out and it sends a cold chilling shiver down my bones! I think you are very brave to enter a cave my friend! Full admiration to you.

Hello my friend Wolfie. It is lovely you have full admiration for me. I have always got out of the caves I have visited I am glad to say. I have to take an elevator when I am out with my son that rides around in his wheelchair.

I've been to some caves in Colorado Springs. It was dark and cold in there! They led us into the middle of the cave and had us shut off our flashlights, we couldn't see our hands in front of our faces, our eyes never did adjust to the darkness because there is no light. We learned about stalactites and stalagmites, mites you might trip over, that's how I remember. It was fun to explore and go spelunking.

So far I have been to some artificial caves, way back in Feb 2008 when I visited Nainital, a hill station in Northern India. Apart from that I do not recall any natural cave visit. Well, there are some caves in Western parts of India, and one day I might visit there.

I would love to visit India one day in the future. The artificial caves sound lovely and interesting. I am glad you were able to visit a hill station in 2008.

Last Christmas when I went back home, we took a plane ride to go to a nearby island and did some island-hopping from there. On these islands were caves which we too had to swim to get in to. It was fun! Our guide even climbed up through the rocks in the cave and took a picture of us while we were in the water inside the cave.

I never had, but my youngest brother-in-law and his wife went through a cave down in the South west United states, and they took pictures. It was exciting although I expected a cache of gold or some roadway to another world.

I like to visit caves, but since I can barely walk anymore with out my shoes (and all the stuff inside them) I doubt I'd be doing what you did. However, I've been to quite a few caves. I've been to Carlsbad twice. Longhorn Cavern many times, but not in a long time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longhorn_Cavern Inner Space Caverns, again, a long time ago... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inner_Space_Cavern I've been to a cave in Austria back in 1968 My mom, my sister and I went to The Lost Sea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craighead_Caverns And I've been to Mammoth Cave http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammoth_Cave

There are 4 large caves near here that I have visited. My favorite is black chasm cavern because of their helictite formations. http://rddcn.multiply.com/photos/album/336/Tonys-first-cave#photo=6 I've visited caves in Oregon and Nevada too, as well as lava tubes in Hawaii. I'd like to get to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico one of these days. Had a chance to get a guided tour of Capri and the grotto there, was just exhausted and didn't go. There is a nice grotto in Kauai that I went to. but I've mainly visited the caves in the area here.

I have visited a couple of caves in Spain. My ex-boyfriend and I visited a cave in the Southern part of Spain, but I don't remember the name of the place. My brother and I visited another cave in the south of Spain and that was interesting as well. When I was in Vietnam I went on cruise in Halong Bay. When I bought the cruise I thought that we were "just" going to sail around in area and I was surpriced when our guide told us that we were going to visit one of the caves. That was a wonderful surprice, and the cave was really beautiful. I liked the caves that I had seen in Spain, but the one in Halong Bay was more beautiful than the other caves I have seen.

There are 2 caves near me both about an hr drive away. I have been to them both but not swimming in them and such. They were both beautiful inside and me and my family took a tour inside both of them and got to see the history and hear the history of them. We got to learn how people explored the caves in the old days.It was neat beautiful and fun.I also liked learning the history of those caves.
