the arithmatic of worldly life

I read this interesting article in Marathi spiritual book.
Worldly life can be viewed in terms of arithmetic. Marriage should be looked upon as an addition. to enjoy pleasures except as a duty or a debt to the organs should be called subtraction. To have children is like the multiplication, and the dissipation of life that occurs with every breath should be looked upon as division. When remainder reduces to zero with continuing division, one has to go, leaving worldly life. The consummation of all this arithmetic is in one's recognizing of
God.
thus we have to go through all these arithmetic operations of life.

I've never thought about life in that way before. I mean I've thought about marriage as being addition. However, I've never thought about the lives that we bring into the world as being multiplication. I've always thought of that as being further addition. I've also never thought of division and subtraction in terms of life. However, now that you've outlined it in this way, I can see how those are also important operations in our lives as well.

Yes, living this life has arithmetic equivalent. And to me the saddest part is when your life has reduced to zero without you recognizing the importance of God in your life. In all the mathematical operations that go through our life, God is in control. He can allow addition, multiplication, division or subtraction in accordance with His divine will and He alone has the power to do that.

Yes I do thinks so our life is made up of arithmetic is about addition when it comes to age subtraction when it comes to health and multiplication when it comes to children and division when it comes to days of our survival.
