It's 8:41 pm here in my country and my husband is on his way home from the head office, I know he's hungry and tired. I am going to cook milk fish in spicy and sour soup with lots of vegetables for our dinner. His going to like it for sure...
Have a good night!

Sinigang na bangus or milk fish in a sour and spicy soup is wo easy to prepare. And it cooks over a short time, 20 minutes .
It's one delicious way of cooking milk fish.
So, what are the veggies you mis with it, bhelen?

Me, i saute first tomatoes then put water & miso. My veggie would be just mustasa for a bit of tanginess .

Yeah, it's very easy to cook, I just put spinach, okra and tomatoes, my husband does not like string beans.

This is alsoo what we had last night. I love the taste or using the tamarind soup rather than ready-made soup base in the market.

I think it is healthier than the ready-made since it contains no preservatives.

Your right it contains no preservatives, healthier and the taste was even better.

Thanks for this discussion, we cook fish, fry fish, lot of spices of different kind added, but we never add milk to fish or mutton curry , they are contraindicated as per our faith, some add coconut milk though..
i am fond of fish fry and fish curry with thick gravy lol.

hi, prof. actually it's not about cooking fish in milk. she's talking about milk fish, a kind of fish that is found in the philippines. there are many ways of cooking fish but the recipe she mentioned above is one that is appreciated by lots of filipinos. it involves boiling the fish and adding lemon juice and vegetables to the soup. try it, it's very tasty. this is eaten with boiled rice. it wouldn't go well with the chapati.

My husband always ate sinigang with fish sauce, calamansi and red chili. Last night, he almost finish our rice and viand, he want to eat more but i controlled him or else he might fall asleep easily or throw up because of fullness.

I don`t know what milk fish is, but maybe it is a kind of fish that I know, but in its name in Spanish. So many times language makes us difficult to follow a recipe
. Sour soup is not something I understand either. Please enlighten me, friend. You know I love to cook and to try new things.

I guess one of the happiest thing to a man is to have her wife cooked a table of good food on the table when he got back home from work. I believe you will be able to do a great job in that. From the photos you attached, I think I had that kind of fish before. My aunt must have cooked the same fish before. A slight different of the color of the soup is there as the one prepared by my aunt is has soup in white. really looks like a milk soup though. But the taste is cute the same, a little spicy and sour.

The reason why your aunt soup is white maybe she put Taro(gabi), mine, i just put tomatoes, spinach, chili and ginger but the taste was great. thanks

I can't believe I am going to say this but I miss that dish. When I was still there, I vowed never to eat that again ecauseme I always get into a mishap or two with the fishbone. But now, after a few months of going without that, I actually miss it.

That's the main problem in eating milk fish that's why I requested the fish vendor to debone it.It is really delicious and I will also miss that if I'm in your situation. You can eat it that again but be careful or better yet, prepare it boneless. Good luck and enjoy.
