Do you believe the SNAP (Food stampd) progam is a Fiasco???

Hi today yes there a few That abuse the system. But as right now There very few job Take for example the Worker who work The malls,discount stores All the jobs are part time And low wages.im talking About non magement. Most of the people are on Food stamps.do not say Get a higher education. There people who use To very good jobs Then got lay off because of The ecomey.they have college Degrees and.now.are working Fast food places as crew All.the people im talking about Are not lazy and they are on Food stamps.the snap carcd is For food only.in some state it All so the card use for medicade There rally no way some one Can use it for a gym unless it Might be medical reasons .

Hi BJ, I have not watched the video yet but I will. I will say that I take anything off from Fox News with a grain of salt so to speak. I work in a convenience store and I also live in low income housing so I am right in the perfect spot to see an awful lot of abuse. Does everyone abuse the system...oh absolutely not! The problem is the 19 year olds that are single and with no kids that for whatever reason are getting 400.00 to 500.00 per month. Why? Back when I was 19, if I was not able to make it on my own then I would have been my parent's problem. I personally know several single mothers who live at home with their mom and have 3 to 4 children. They collect about 600.00 per month in child support and have a boyfriend who is NOT the father of any of the kids living with them. Those food stamps are feeding the kids but also the lazy live-in boyfriend as well as the kid's grandmother who works. The grandmother owns her own home and a very nice vehicle. I could cite tons of such cases. I also know many who are on the system that would only use their EBT in a store as expensive as the one that I work in for an emergency gallon of milk or bread . The ones that are legitimatly on the system...I really don't care how they choose to spend their money. Like you and I, if they don't budget properly, they will struggle. If they choose to have a really good steak and carefully budget the rest of their allowance..let them..just an example. I don't care. The ones that don't belong on the system at all...we do need to do something about that. I am certaian that there are young people without children that do need our help but I'm equally certain that it is not the extent that I see on a daily basis.

Problem is that the system is full of abuse. There is 0 control over what they can spend their food money on. Back home it was not uncommon to see someone pay with SNAP in the grocery store and putting their groceries in a BMW. So many people do NEED the help, problem is the people who have SNAP do not always NEED it. A lot of people CHOOSE to live in poverty so they can live off of the government. That is a problem. People like myself & my family who could use a bit of help every now and then have no access to these programs for ridiculous reasons. We were once denied because we had a $140 a month car payment. My husband was fired, didn't qualify for unemployment and my income paid our rent and maybe half of our bills.

I am going to give you my personal opinion on the food stamp situation. I think that the asians, mexicans and other foreigners should get food stamps BUT only for a period of time. This foreigners are pulling down a program that was ONLY to subsidize their own groceries, not pay for them completely. All these people coming from other countries should be bringing help from their countries with them or something so that the U.S. isn't pull down financially.

I think like with everything else people abuse things and they ruin it for the rest of people. I do know of some people myself who have abused the food stamp program and I told them how wrong I thought they were because their ruining things for the rest of us. I am about to try to get food stamps again because we need them badly. We don't make enough to pay all of the bills and pay for food too, we always end up not paying a bill one month in order to get food in the house... =( Not everyone that is on food stamps is lazy. That is so wrong for people to judge people that way. Some are lazy but others are working people who just need help.
