Yesterday evening,we bought a book about how to keep healthy and deal with small problems in life.It contains almost everything that we might meet in our daily life.My wife said it was very useful, just like a dictionary for our life, but I didn't agree with her. I think we should learn more by studying knowledge from life instead of just doing what books tell us to do. How do you think of it?

It is indeed an interesting book. Learn from other people experience. However, I do agree on your points too. Sometimes the same issue have to dealt differently because everybody handle things differently and uniquely. This book came handy and I believe it is practical in some extent. Is it expensive?

I'm not going to believe in every book by default. Still, they are better to trust than Internet sites, but some book authors are really biased... especially if it's about something less exact than science... like what healthy eating is, or how to find your true love.

If I bought a book like the one you and your wife bought I would probably find it interesting to read it and I might also find some things that I could use, but I don't think that I would believe everything or agree with everything. When I read that kind of books I take what I can use and leave the rest. I think that we can learn useful things from books, but I always evaluate the things that I read. Tere are many things that we can't learn from books and sometimes the experiences that we have had and the things that we have learned from those experiences are more useful that the things we learn from books.

I agree with you wife really books tell us many thing and changes in our life also. Do you read the book "Cows dong gives milk" in conversation that is "GAi duhd nahi deti hai" it means we should try to pick the milk not cow automatically gives and same thing about life, life will not give us anything easily without hard work.

No matter just how knowledgeable books can be, they should just remain as a reference which you may come to consider what is written inside those books, but never totally follow every single things books have to tell you. Books are written by human. Just how good can human be? history and news tell us that human are subject to biases, prejudices, emotions and many more. The knowledge of some human can be so limited and perhaps deviate to certain personal beliefs or views of issues. And all these are being presented in the book they write. There is better place to gain knowledge of life than just books alone. Use them wisely and you will find yourself being even more wiser in life.

Hi friend, both of you are right, i think you believe the practical knowledge compared with the theoretical one and your wife likes the theoretical one and follow it in her life to avoid unwanted issues. I am moderated in this sort, some times i will follow the book suggestion, if it is from an experienced person, most of the time i learn a lot of things from my practical experiences

Your wife has a point. But I agree more with you too. Same goes with being in school you know. Books are just our guides. We must apply also and test or experiment if what the book says is valid. Though I believe that some books were also written based on proven methods but some aren't.
