How to get a free printer

So one of the board members for my museum figured out a creative way for her to get a new printer. She told me hers broke and then a few days later calls me to say that she bought a new printer for the office on the museums account and she will take home the old printer from the office. Now we did not need a new printer, the one in the office was fine. So she just got a perfectly good printer for free, on the museums dime. This is not right. I'm so annoyed. But can't say too much. The board of directors are my bosses.

The old printer is still museum property, and what she is planning to do is nothing short of theft. Is there truly nobody that you can report it to? She may be your boss, but that doesn't give her license to steal a printer simply because she feels she's entitled to it.

Oh oh, what she did was absolutely unethical. Being a member of the board, she should have known better. That is outright conning, spending museum funds for something to replace the other one which is still serviceable so she can have it for free. You should report her to the other board members.

Doesn't the museum tag its assets? It is not right for you board member to bring the printer home. You should report it. I am sure the auditors will also ask how the item has been dealt with. Has it been officially written off? No doubt the board is your boss, the museum does not belong to her. She has a boss above her too. You should do the right thing. I will report her in your shoes.

What she did is not right and I think that someone should say it. Taking things from the workplace is wrong and she will get in trouble if she gets caught. It's also annoying to see people doing bad things and then be proud of what they did and say it to others like an achievement.

I know of someone who writes everything off to his businesses. The MIL has been on the payroll too and has never worked there before but gets free insurance that way.It seems these people get all kinds of breaks in life.

You should tell someone! If she's doing this with a printer what else is she taking from them. There must be someone you can tell.

Hi there! I can understand why you are annoyed. I will definitely be annoyed too. That is just not right. It's never right to take what is not yours. That money could have been used for something that will be more useful for the museum.

This is disgusting and downright stealing. She should be reporrted to the Board and disciplined or dismissed and the printer returned

Those printers might be of the same brand and model so she was able to switch them. Otherwise, it would be found out during the inventory. Have a great day!
