On the way with my daughter to collect my son from school in the charity shop we saw a children's suitcase. We were in a rush to get over to the school. On our walk back we went into the charity shop. I was so happy to see the children's suitcase was just two pounds and fifty pence. It is a yellowy orange color and my daughter is very happy to have it for our trip around Eastern Europe. Before we found that bargain I was looking at new children's suitcase for nineteen and ninety nine pence. Wow! we saved so much money that I am delighted.
Did you get get a bargain in a charity shop?
Have you had an item in mind then found it cheaply somewhere?

You picked something I think your daughter will feel made your trip together even more special. I'm sure the two of you will have a blast.

Oh that suitcase must be really cute, and I can imagine how happy your daughter is! :)
I've only been to one charity shop once, and I've only bought a shirt there - coincidentally, I'm wearing that shirt today! :D. It was really cheap and in perfect condition. My boyfriend's mom also bought two pairs of slippers for me from there, both really nice.

Both my mum and my sister love charity shops, I have lost count of the amount of times my mum has come back with a bargain she has managed to find. We do donate a lot of our stuff which we don't use any more to charity, rather than sell it ourselves which is just added hassle. If they can benefit from our contributions then that makes us feel good. I am glad you managed to get the child's suitcase, I always say if you are meant to have something, then you will get it. I am so glad your daughter is happy with her new suitcase and a bargain too!

I get most of my binders at Value Village which is our charity shop. When you see how much they cost in the regular stores, I can get them for half or more off. I also got some 9 x 9 pans there, and that is a good thing, because most of the square pans in the shops are 8 x 8 inches. The trouble is that a lot of the stuff I get are almost the same price as the stores.

I love to visit the charity shops in my country and I have bought a lot of different things there. Before we left for Asia I wanted to find some cheap books that I could read during the trip. New books are expensive so I decided to visit one of the charity shops instead and I found some books that cost less than a dollar. I was happy and I decided to buy several books there. I also like to buy old magazines in the charity shops because I use the pictures from the old magazines in my art. It would be much to expensive to buy new magazines so I am happy that they sell old magazines in those shops.

I love buying in charity or goodwill, as our country has, shops. We also have AmVets - American Veterans - shops. Back when my husband was younger and held a higher, more prestige position - yet we were broke hahaha - I used to go to Goodwill and a place called the Surprise Shop, which was run by an Episcopal church in our neighborhood - and buy very very nice, label name blazers/jackets for him. I could get ones that originally costs a hundred dollars or more for eight or nine bucks. Sometimes less - if they hadn't sold in 60 days, they were half price. Because he wore a big man's size, it was easy to find ones half price the thrift shop price. Apparently there were a lot of wealthy big men, but not so many who weren't! lol.
The only thing I would caution against buying second hand these days are items like plushes, plush furniture, and clothing that hasn't been washed and dried in heat - or dry cleaned - due to the proliferation of bed bugs. I knew someone who bought an easy chair - stuffed - at a second hand shop, and within days had her home crawling in bed bugs. She had to not only dump the chair, but two mattresses that were nearly brand new!

That sounds tangerine to me i.e. Blackpool FC colours lol. Well done though for acquiring a suitcase for what amounts to peanuts really.
Mum has had two bargains in two seperate Charity Shops lately. The first was a duffle coat from Cat's Paws for £6, the other was an L S Lowry print for the princely sum of £15 - with a fabulous frame too, according to Mum.
The main bargains for me have been on Ebay lately. Certain face washes and moisturisers I'm finding hard to get hold of so I buy them on Ebay instead and save a shed load of cash in the process. The moisturiser, in particular, was £15 cheaper than on the High Street. Unfortunately, I cannot use cheap moisturisers. I am aware of Simple but my skin itches when I use it. I guess my skin likes chemicals!!

Well i am happy to hear that u got a children's suitcase from a charity shop and that too at a much lesser price. More importantly your daughter can use it during any trip and i am pretty sure she must be loving to have it with her. Honestly i have never got anything from a charity shop yet and would definitely love to get something from it in the future.
