hi, my lotters. it was in the news this week that a baby was found inside the restroom in one of the coffee shops in the city. last year, someone did this also. in italy, if a pregnant woman doesn't want her baby, she can anonymously give birth in a hospital and leave the baby there for adoption. i can't imagine how a woman can give birth in a small restroom, leave the baby, and walk away as if nothing unusual has happened. can you?

i am in the US and here there are places where a baby can be dropped off and no questions asked. The baby will be taken care of and a home will be found. Even with that, we still hear of stories like this and it is heartbreaking. I don't understand it either but it does happen all the time.

i feel sad about this. there might be circumstances where it is hard for a mother to keep her baby but leaving the baby in a public place and exposing it to danger is simply horrible. in the case of the baby abandoned last year, the authorities were able to trace the mother thru the registration of the cameras in the establishment.

it really is sad. i don't know their circumstances but i imagine if they are going to leave the baby anywhere, it would be better to leave it in a public place where hopefully someone that will care might find it. We have had many stories where babies are found in dumpsters and trash bins which is just horrible and shows that the mother really did not give a dam about the babies life. I can't even imagine carrying a child in my belly for 9 months, feeling the life within me and going through the pain of birth only to just without any thought, toss it in the trash. It would take a very cold hearted person to do that which makes me wonder what in her own life caused her to be that cold and unfeeling.

Thanks for sharing this, if there is provision to give birth and leave the baby legally for adoption, the women should use it; here in India you can see abandoned baby on road sides, dust bins, river sides, they are product of illicit affairs.

And that is exactly what gets me. As a mom, IF for some reason i felt that i could not properly take care of my child, i just would need to know that whoever i gave it up to was going to be someone that was going to give him/her a good live and a better one than i could offer. Leaving the baby on the roadsid is better than some alternatives but still leaving it up to chance. it is playing russian roulet with your child's life. i am struggling to even relate to this. i actually do have a daughter that was born after my divorce. i was nearly 40 and while i was taking birthcontrol...i also knew that it was a bad time to take chances an since i'd been pregnant on bc previously.
knowing all that..i went forth anyway and now i was a single mom of three who is just getting on her feet and another mouth to feed was the last thing i needed. Scared? oh yes and not just for what struggles i'd face and what societ would think of me but mostly...i had a 16 yr old daughter that i had to answer to. i'd been preaching to her about responsibility and all. Well..i fell short of my own preaching. So what now? Buck up and deal with the consequences of your choices. i did and no regrets. my little consequence is now 19 yrs old and has added so much to my life...to OUR lives. Don't put your so called mistakes in the trash or give them to chance...could be the best thing that ever happened to you.

illicit affairs or not, it is not right that the children are the ones who are suffering from the sins of their parents. i'm glad that the two babies that i mentioned above are safe and couples are lining up to adopt them. i just hope that they find love in their future families.

Hi,
At least that woman left their babies for adoption. In India such babies are found in garbage, sea shore, or in temple or anywhere. It is very cruelty of a mother who give birth to child and throw it. How can mother do like this? We say that mother is the treasure of love for her child. But here mother is behaving with cruelty and soesn't have any love for her child.

This is really sad, my heart goes out to those children, not to the parents who leave the children, these children will have to grow up, in a home and later on when they get older, they will find out their mother, left them this will be heart breaking to the child.

it will be very cruel of the adopting family to divulge this. this will surely have devastating effects on the child. i know lots of married couples who really want to have kids but are unable to have one. i hope these babies will find the love that their parents denied them in another family.
