Lucky are those who have air condition in their houses...

As the summer's heat is now starting, humidity also starts. As you will really feel uneasy because of the hot weather. Hence, it is really annoying. Thus, I am just thinking when our house will have an air-conditioning unit. Though at the back of my mind, I know it wont be happening, as they believed having it will cause a high electricity consumption.

Yeah, I do agree with you it is much comfortable to be in an air condition area in our house. I cannot bear the heat and very tempted to switch on my air conditioner most of the time. However, it will cost a lot on the electricity charges. So, I have no choice but try to minimize using it.

Lucky for me that I live in the suburbs where it remains cool even in the hottest day of summer, hence an aircon is not really required. There are lots of trees around including open spaces. In the city, the heat can be stifling so I tend to avoid going to the city as much as possible. However, late afternoon usually means heavy rain and thunderstorms similar to what we experienced yesterday.

good day yahnee, how lucky you are not really experiencing the heat of the summer. at my end here, it is really annoying nowadays as the summer heat is really rising. i can't help to take a bath twice a day since the heat will really irritates the skin.

i think it is much better to have mini pool where you can dip in whenever you want.

hi there, that is also a good way to refresh, having a mini-pool inside the perimeter of your house.

Hi, We also don't have air conditioner in our house. Here also hot outside. But the weather in our city is not humid. We are living on second floor so we have the advantage of wind. But outside the house, it is very hot in the afternoon. Air conditioner cause high consumption of electricity, so we also try to be satisfied with fans and natural wind.

hi roshigo58, we are also trying to be satisfied to use our fans here as we don't have too much budget to buy an air condition unit.

it will definitely increase your electric bill so whatever comfort you enjoy now, for sure you'll pay for it in money afterwards. summer is actually an expensive season because everyone's at home, electric fans are on all day and night, as well the tv and computer. you also buy ice, soft drinks, shakes, ice cream, ice candy and halo-halo. people are also taking more showers and changing their sweaty clothes a lot so there's also higher water consumption.

My house air conditioners contribute the most in my electricity bill besides computers. These are the areas that we are trying to cut down every now and then.

Happy are those who have a house with air-con. Because this summer time again our worst enemy is heat weather.

Wooo, Air conditioning cost a lot! I have a small window unit in my apartment because I can't afford anything bigger. It is in my bedroom so when it is hot that is where I stay. It is so bad that I also have my ceiling fan and a fan in front of the air conditioner unit and another smaller fan sitting on my nightstand. I also have to dump cold water over my head several times during the night to just make it easier to breath. No blanket eiether which is no fun because I'm a blanket girl. Hopefully I will get to go swimming more this Summer than last. I just dyed my hair a color that fade when wet though, so this Summer I have to wear a swim cap. Which is super dorky, but I have to do what I have to do. Right?

Air Conditioning costs a lot of money. It may be nice to have it, but just remember, you are going to forking out the cash to have it turned on.

Electric consumption increases indeed during this season. And it gets real crazy each day having to deal with the heat the whole day then have thunderstorms at night.

We still have our heat on because it is so cold. It will be 70 this weekend. We won't use AC until June most likely.

We have an air-conditioner and we have a sound sleep at night. So, in this sense, we are lucky enough indeed.

Lucky for me because there is a store beside our house who sells ice candy. And I can eat 5 ice candies just to make my body cool down. And what's making it worst is that we have electricity shortage here in Mindanao which makes me more uneasy and irritated. But then, let's not be affected by this because anger will make you more uncomfortable.

Oh I know how you feel! It's really getting hot in here too! I don't have air conditioning as well, but I have found a way to make the temperature tolerable. What I do is close everything. I use heavy drapes so that the sun nor the hot wind comes in. It blocks the heat so the room becomes cooler than outside. Not to mention that I keep drinking water and once in a while pat my face with cold cloth dipped in icy water. Keeps my feeling fresh and avoids dehydration. Keep yourself well hydrated this summer! Have a great mylot experience ahead!

I live in Puerto Rico and its warm here year round and I don't have air conditioning either. We have ceiling fans in each of the rooms including the two bathrooms. I'm allergic to air conditioning it causes me to get sick very easily. In fact when I first moved here I would be constantly going in and out of stores and restaurants with air condtioning blasting. Going from hot to cold ended up getting me sick on and off for at least a year. Now my body must have adjusted because I haven't be sick since October of 2011. Thank God. I can live without it plus who wants to give the electric company more money.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, that what OC stands for. It's a disorder so i don't want it. Though, i think i have it because i like our bedroom to be always in order and clean. I hate it when i can feel sand in the bedroom, because we don't wear slipper inside, since i put linoleum. I would really berate my husband when i can feel some sand, because it's him who brings in some sand.

It is really hot nowadays. I think one solution for that is to go to cool places and double your electric fan if you don't have aircon. Just kidding. Maybe one remedy for that is to have a cool bath twice a day. Summer is really hot yet cheerful too. Good day!

When the weather is hot we really wished for an aircon so we can escape the heat of the summer but for me I cannot afford it now .. it is not our priority so all we can do is just drink a cold water and be in front of the electric fan that in some way we can defeat the heat., but I don't know what is happening because lately its always raining in our place even though its already summer.. which is a good thing so it is not that hot specially at night.,

Hey... you need not buy an air conditioner to keep your apartment cool. You can get lot of portable fans...and keep the windows closed during mornings. Else you can get an evaporator, it sucks in outside air, cools it by evaporation and sends it in. or you can wet the curtains and close the drapes, when hot air comes in through it, it soothes you. If you are planning to get a air conditioner, you can find affordable ones that consumes less electricity and fit your bill. Hope this helps!!
