Hi everyone .......Gissi here, yes I know I have been away for a while and a lot has gone on ......last year I had to have an operation so that I would not die I got through it ....... Mum has been sick on and of but she is doing ok otherwise and she is still not smoking, it has nearly been a year now that Mum stopped Then 2 weeks ago I had to have an emergency eye operation, it started with me having sore eye and Mum thought it was an infection so she treated it......after a week it was still there, so Mum decided to take me to the Vet, he took one look and told Mum I had to have an operation there and then or I would loose my eye ..... I had a big abscess that was taking over my eye, Mum burst into tears she thought it was her fault, the Vet told her she could not have known and brought me to him in time, I was operated on within the Hour, all went well, my eye was sewn shut and the healing began 2 Days after my Op Mum became very sick so both of us just slept, when we woke up Mum would clean my eye then we would snuggle up again and go back to sleep, Buttons our Cat even behaved himself, I did tell him he had to be good as Mum was very Ill and could not cope with his naughtiness ..... he can be very naughty at times....but he behaved .....4 Days ago my eye opened the stitches are dissolving Clive (the Vet) is happy with my healing, I still have to go once a week to get the eye checked So my eye is good again .......oh anyone who does not know I am a Dog....... so....have you ever had to have an eye operation

Hi Gissi. Good to hear from you again. And good to hear that Mum hasn't smoked in a year. (I guess that means you haven't either!) Hope you both get well soon, and that Buttons keeps behaving himself. He's a little older now, so knows to be good when everyone else is feeling poorly. (Kitties make good nurses.)

Oh yes! I'm so proud of Gissi's mum for not smoking in a whole year! I agree, kitties make great nurses with their gentle kisses and gentle touch with their paws.

Wow, you sure have had a tough time Little Man! Other than having to have an object removed from my eye, I haven't had to have surgery on it. My sister, on the other hand, was born with something wrong with her eye, and she had it operated on when she was 3ish and again when she was 18. I'm so glad your mum hasn't smoked in 10 months, I hope that helps her so she stops getting sick all the time - after all, she's younger than I am!

I miss seeing you and your mum, but since both of you are under the weather, we must get Buttons to post updates about you... then again, he is a cat and getting him to post anything about anyone except himself is probably going to be hard!

Hi Gissi, I hope you're feeling better, and mum too. No, I have never had eye surgery, but my dad has, and he said it was awfully painful. Hope yours has stopped hurting. (hugs) Dawn

nope gissi I never had an eye operation. I am so happy you are on the mend and you will be taking care of your mom. My cat Rugby was very sick at Christmas time. He had a urine infection and he had to go back to the vet three times because the medication was not strong enough. He is better now and badier than Buttons.

Dear Gissi, I am glad that your eye is healing and hope your Mum is well again, too by now. yes I also had an eye operation when I was a kid, and 7 years old and it took a while till my vision was good again. First I had double vision but it subsided. I am happy to hear that Buttons behaved when the two of you were sick so I hope everything is better by now.

Awww, hope you're feeling a little better Gissi! You sure have been through a lot. I don't see anyone as much anymore since I removed myself from Facebook. I'm so happy Mum has given up smoking for sooooo long! That is quite an accomplishment and I'm sure you're happy you don't smell that smoke anymore too! Hope you get well soon and tell Mum "HI" for me!

oh gissi, im so glad for you darling! i saw it on FB and prayed and told my coco to pray with me and she did. she loves you to as we all do. and we love your mum dearly also. so happy that you all have been getting through all these rough medical things as coco and i often have also in the past years . not sure but i think i mentioned a while back that even coco had surgery on her throat and everyone prayed and shes come through in tip top shape. i also quit smoking about the same time your mum did and we are so good to go now. its a big move forward. glad Buttons has settled down a bit. it sure helps we love you and your mum. tried to post this last night but mylot wouldnt work.
