Well, I did it

Well, I thought about it, and then thought some more, and then after giving it some more thought I decided to write letters. I wrote one to the social workers supervisor. I detailed what happened and asked where she had gotten the idea that Josh was developmentally delayed and expressed my opinion that it was handled badly. I then called to find out how I went about writing a complaint to the judge. The lady told me that I had to write one original copy to the judge and then a copy to the probation officer, one to the prosecutor, and one to the public defender. So I wrote a shortened version of the one I wrote to the supervisor. I told him I hoped that this would be looked into and that I hoped other people wouldn't have to experience this type of negligence and incompetency in the future. I wonder if I will hear back from either of them.

i hope you included photocopies of all the documents you had pertaining to the social workers' findings on josh. in this manner, they could evaluate the case better and be able to help you.

There were no findings. They didn't do anything! That's the whole thing.

Thank you. I am glad you feel I did the right thing. It just wore at me until I felt I should write. Plus two or three on here needled me with feeling I should too.

I hope you get some action on that now. But it would have been better to give the copy as you were told. A shorter version is not a copy.

What?! I wrote it more indepth for her supervisor. A short and to the point one for the judge. I had to send copies of that to the prosecutor, public defender and probation officer. Will be talking to each of those and can explain it all to them at that time. The judge just needs to know that it was badly handled. Judges don't like the long drawn out version anyway. Just the basics. And that's what he got.

Good for you. (pat yourself on the back) Seriously, they have not only wasted everybody's time and your tax dollars, but they are delaying any help that your grandson might receive. I really hope that somebody looks into it.

My grandson has appointments with his lawyer in a couple of weeks and I will be making sure that he received his copy of the letter I wrote to the judge. If not more questions will arise. I hope some one looks into it too. And I get the chance to address this to whomever I can.

Thank you for your kind words. I hope I hear something back at some points. I would like to be a fly on the wall when the manure hits the fan in those offices. Thanks again.

Funny how anger can bring on bravery. I hope the new hearing will be handled better. I will make sure of this before I go.

hi celtkiceagle that sonds like the way to go about it and I do hope someone along the line will get this all straightened out so Josh can get the right kind of c are and this will lift some of the stress on you too.I can see how exasperating this all had been for you and hope now maybe some one will get on the ball and make things right again . the impenitence was just unbelievable and our medical profession should be ashamed of themselves for giving you all that run around,.

I am wondering if these correspondences could be sent electronically otherwise, it would really be at the risk of being lost in transit without reaching its intended address. I hope that your letters would reach the relevant people to address your complaints and get this case resolved. From what you are experiencing, I cannot believe that they are doing things in such a backward manner in this 21st century.

I felt that by sending letters in both directions at least one should hit home. I am appalled that things were done so haphazardly too and that we were dismissed like it was nothing. The guy made a comment that "the wheels of justice grind slowly" and I felt like saying something but I didn't. They just acted like it was no big deal that our time was wasted, this is pushed out further, possibility of the actually court date being pushed out, they were paid regardless for their time, I had wasted gas, and the wheels of justice just go slowly because people like this social worker are incompetent. If the letters don't spark an answer then there will be another letter until I do get one. Once I decide to do something I don't give up on it!

Don't you feel better now that it has been done? I asm sdo proud that you did it. If you do not hear back from them within 10 days then send another letter together with a copy of the first one that was sent to everyone. Keep at it.

I do feel better but I have qualms now. Wondering what will happen. If I will even hear from either of them. I will have to keep at it now. They should get the letters by Tuesday at the latest. I hope I don't have to send them all out again. That was work addressing all the envelopes and composing and writing the letters all out by hand and trying to make it legible. Ugh!

If you don't hear from them, maybe you can try sending one to the local daily. Sometimes newspaper have forum pages. I am sure that should grab some attention. No one should called anyone developmentally delayed unless they are medically trained.
